5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I am very pleased with this card. I am not a big gamer and I have very little interest in maxing graphic when I rarely play games. That in mind, this small card for under 150$ works well over my expectations.

Cons: After a few days trial of the MSI live update feature I went ape and took it off.

Other Thoughts: You can make sure not to go ape by not installing the MSI live update application.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh, Drivers suck

Pros: -Great when Works
-Quiet once have better drivers
-Cheap purchase price when on sale

Cons: -Drivers are horrible and have crash issues.
-Default Drivers it came with crashed a lot.
-Fan speed was out of control when playing games until updated to newer drivers.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these cards one for me and one for my wife so we could PC game together after a year of not being able to. The install went fine and things worked well for a few days then the driver issues started.

Both PCs have MSI mobos, E45/E35. PSU 400 watt 8gb ram.

I tested the cards in both PC's and a seperate one along with a larger 800w PSU. Nothing helped until installed the newer AMD official drivers along with the MSI afterburner program.

The cards still BSOD/Black screen on my PC when waking from idle. UIsing the MSI afterburner software you can lock the 2d memory into a slower clock speed. That will help fix this problem for the most part but I still have the black screen issue sometimes; but frankly why buy a OC card if it does notwork at even default settings?

The card is nice quality build but the drivers are bad.

5 out of 5 eggsMighty Mouse

Pros: +Short card
+Doesn't require a high wattage power supply
+Runs BF4 on MED-HIGH settings at 1080p 60FPS
+Stays cool
+Great price to performance

Cons: -Can't play BF4 at 1080p with ultra settings and get a decent frame rate... if that's important to you.

Other Thoughts: Be honest with yourself. This is a great card, but if you want every game at ultra settings, you're gonna need a better card. If you just want a solid card that can run and game at MED settings or can't afford anything better, you won't be disappointed.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: -When it works, it is awesome.
-Well made card, feels sturdy.
-Fairly quiet fan for one as big as it has. (Once have better drivers)

Cons: -The drivers....oh lord the drivers. (more below)

Other Thoughts: Well I got two of these card so my wife and I could PC game together again after not being able to for almost a year. We are both excited and get them. I install them and everything is fine on our PCs for a day or two, then it went bad.

We started both getting random lockups and PC crashs, also the card would sound like a jet engine from the fan running so fast.

So I installed the drivers from AMD website and swapped the cards along with using different power supply a friend let me borrow to test what was wrong. Here is what happened.

Both PCs are MSI Mobos one is a E45 and one a E35.
Ram is 8GB in each PC. Kingston brand.
Power Supplies are 400W.

In PC1 (My PC) the card still locks up to a black screen from system idle no matter which of the 2 R7 260xs I put in it.
PC2 (Wifes PC) Works just fine now regardless of which of the two cards it has in it.

I also tested both Mobos with a larger 800W PSU a friend let me borrow just to make sure that was not the problem. It did not make a difference in either PC.

On PC1 I can get the black screen to only happen now from a idle state by turning down the memory clock speed (why by OC if it does not work at even stock speeds).

I know I could RMA this or try to but since it is not a defective card and is a driver issue I feel that would be dishonest. It is not a bad card at all when they work. It just getting it to that point that may be a problem.

1 out of 5 eggssad to see I'm not the only one

Pros: looks cool, overclocking software looks very useful

Cons: installed and ran through set-up (looked awesome up until this point), then got lots of freezing and finally a bsod. loaded a system restore point and attempted install again. PC wont boot with card installed. Tried in other mobo and got same boot issue. tested pci slot used with older video card and is what im currently using.

Research leads me to believe this is a common problem with the model.

Other Thoughts: CPU: AMD Athelon X4 740X
Mobo: ASUS F2 A85-M pro
RAM: 10gb
Power Supply: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

with the "$100" in steam games, my total refund will only be $20 and thats before any shipping/restocking fees. The free games available come nowhere close to adding up to $100...in fact tomb raider was $5. When i was looking through selection of games most (not all) were out of date with nearly dead multiplayers.

Very upset with this purchase

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for budget gaming systems

Pros: Inexpensive, especially with rebate.
Amazing high level performance with graphic intensive games like Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
AMD does a great job with video drivers.

Cons: None that I could find.

Other Thoughts: Great card! I have been using it for three weeks and I have been able to play games like Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Far Cry 3, Batman Akham Origins and Assassins Creed IV at high settings.

I have been building systems professionally since 1995, usually PCs for medical offices and low- to mid-range file Windows and Linux servers.

This is the first time I have built a dedicated gaming system and I had to keep the cost below $500, including the Windows 8.1 64-bit OS.

This card allowed me to stay within my budget and put together an awesome system that is many ways is better than the consoles.

The free games that game with the card were also a nice bonus.

I had been debating whether to buy the R9 270 or the R7 260X and I am glad that I purchased this card. I have never used a system with the R9 270 and I am sure the graphics are better than the MSI R7 260X, but for right now, I am very happy with this card. I am surprised to read the negative reviews. The AMD drivers work fine for me. Maybe this is because I am also using an AMD APU and a motherboard with an AMD chipset.

I highly recommend this card for anyone building a budge system.

CPU/APU: AMD A10-7850
Mobo: Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H mATX
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-2400
Video Card: This one - MSI R7 260X 2GB OC Edition
Hard Drive: WD Blue 1T 7200RPM
Power Supply: EVGA 500 B 80 Bronze 500W
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Case: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade so far

Pros: Runs great so far no issues. Ran amd driver cleaner utility then installed the latest drivers from amd.

Cons: runs a little warmer than my last card. 55 C at full load.
card is running at full load when i exit a game sometimes. Could just be the game, Wildstar, which is is not optimized yet.

Other Thoughts: Popped it into an older system to squeeze some extra life out of it. Last card was a amd 4850 and cpu is an athlon 620. Went from 20 fps low setting in bioshock infinite to 60 fps high . colors look better also

2 out of 5 eggsRereview verdict: not so great

Pros: Good heatpipe cooler, silent at idle
Top notch MSI Afterburner software

Cons: Experiencing similar crash issues as other users.
Drivers.

Other Thoughts: I got this well before the official drivers were out and it was nothing but problems with the beta ATI drivers. Another user reported that the OEM drivers were stable, which I tried and worked for me. WHQL driver release is also fine. I will never buy a card that only has beta drivers again.

Or so I thought. This card was giving me weird visual artifacts from the beginning, as well as crashes others are reporting. The artifacts and instability seem to be getting increasingly worse. I suspect bad RAM.

The fan is quiet but produces a dull roar during intensive use, but that is with it not exceeding 70 C, which is probably a low ceiling for GPUs.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked good for a week

Cons: Worked good for a week. I bought this card had it for 1 week. 1st my dvi ports sopped getting video. Then my pc started getting random freezes. next it would crash running a game- a 3 year old game at that. When I put in for RMA I was approved to get a notice saying I will be getting a refurbished card. So basically I purchased a brand new one only to get a refurbished one that probably burnt out on someone in the past. Now I have to wait another 5-15 days to get a refurbished card. So I just bought a brand new PC for gaming only to get a refurbished part and now wait another half a month. Not cool at all
