4 out of 5 eggsGood

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Bought this for a budget system, it plays Skyrim with mods on ultra.

Cons: Something screwy goes on with the driver sometimes, making the graphics bug out. I have to reinstall the Catalyst Control Center and restart the computer to return it to normal.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for a Starter Builder

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: I use my computer for work (GIS field) and gaming (just starting though).
- Price
- Easy to install
- Game included with purchase (may/may not apply depending when you buy it)
- Does not require additional power supply (less cables to run)
- MSI provides a monitoring programming to see how the GPU is performing (FPS, Temp, GPU Usage, ect)

Cons: - Free game selection is limited and does not include AAA games
- MSI GPU monitoring software takes some time to understand/use

Other Thoughts: Here are some stats about the games I have played:
Smite (FPS ~48): Display - 1920x1080, visual - max settings
Dungeon Siege 3 (FPS ~58): Display - 1920X1080 , Visual - 'HIGH' settings

My computer:
Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
Thermaltake Lv 10 GT
1 SSD/ 2 HDD
ASUS A88x-Pro (Bolton D4)
AMD A10-7850
MSI R7 250 2GB DDR3 (x2)
G Skill 2133mhz 32gb (4x8gb)
ASUS PCI-E Wireless Card
Corsair AX760
Cool Master Hyper 212Evo
Pioneer Blueray Player

1 out of 5 eggsWebsite Misleading

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: Company website lies about their max resolution.

Newegg didn't list the maximum resolution on this card, so I went to MSI's own website:
http://us.msi.com/product/vga/R7_250_2GD3_OC.html#hero-specification

Their page for this card says that the "Display Output Max" is 2560x1600, which is the resolution of my monitor. [And I have a screenshot of the entire webpage, in case they change it after reading this review.]

But when I installed it and the drivers, I only get 1920X1080!! After more research it appears that it's limited by the single DVI output.

But how can you claim to produce 2560x1600 on your website when you know the card can never output that resolution since you limited the DVI port!! Extremely misleading, and I consider it lying.

Other Thoughts: Don't trust this company!

5 out of 5 eggswow O.o

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Extremely cheap especially for what it is. It has ran everything I've thrown at it. I dont have many high spec games as of now (seeing as how I am running steamos currently). The highest game Ive ran at highest settings (other than high physx) is borderlands 2, no lag. Its a great card for a great value. I have tried to remove the plastic casing which is probably there to look cool, to get better airflow. I havent succeeded in this yet as it has very and I mean VERY tiny screws. But all around, It is AMAZING!!!

Cons: The only one I can think of is the cover, it feels rather cheap and I wish I could take it off

3 out of 5 eggsMSI Needs to Seal Boxes

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Card is great for my uses - playing back HD material and streaming to TV (like HTPC, run an HDMI to TV). I do not play games. The R7 250 cards are almost the same price as the R7240 cards, so for a basic graphics card to get the best for HTPC in a mid tower PC this is a good card.

Cons: MSI does not seal boxes so you can't be sure you are really getting a new card. They only tape the anti-static bag inside the box, but with tape that can be reapplied in a way that you can't be sure it was opened. I returned the card because the box for the graphics card inside the Newegg box was open and the card in the bag was out of the box! Why can't MSI seal the outside box like their competitors do or as software manufacturers do so you know the box has never been opened?

5 out of 5 eggsR7 250

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Price, Graphics Quality. From a Geforce 210 to a GT 620 I couldnt handle the graphics no more. The R7 250 2GD3 OC is such perfection and beautiful!

Cons: None! This works out great!

Other Thoughts: Always liked AMD, wish I had never tryed Nvidia but price was right at the time when my Radeon HD 6450 went out the window.

4 out of 5 eggsI had to try dual graphics...

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Crossfired with my a10-7850k 4.4ghz cpu / 2000nb /1ghz igpu / 2400mhz ram with no problems.

Combined with my OC APU, my system plays all current games on high and uses very little power.

Silent

Cons: Still think it should be cheaper considering most people will buy this for dual graphics (formally known as hybrid crossfire) with an $180 APU.

Other Thoughts: Initially I was concerned that the dedicated GPU @ 1200mhz would bottle neck the APU with faster RAM @ 2400mhz, but what I didn't understand was that the APU is using a 64 bit memory interface/bus, and the R7-250 is using a 128bit memory interface/bus. The higher memory bus of the R7 makes it keep up with the APU and preform slightly better alone vs the APU.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Good med, med-hi graphics for the price, would recommend if for the price,

Cons: some modification to the plastic housing if using a gateway dx4320

Other Thoughts: modification- removing the plastic housing, removed the part the fan set on, reinstalling the fan with the plastic riser from the housing, possibly could provide better airflow.

3 out of 5 eggsIncluded promo blocks sale

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: This is the card I want and is recommended for the simulation station we were putting together for a driver education school.

Cons: This includes a free software bundle. The problem is in order from me to pick this up with the whole order I needed to select payment option: bill me later. But it will not allow that because of the software promo. We do not want the software only the card...

Other Thoughts: After chatting with support the results were: NewEgg cannot override a free software promo that is stopping the order.
