5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Excellent card, worked right out of the box. Pairing it with an A10-7700K Black APU and already having the latest drivers installed, it auto detected the card and automatically asked if I wanted to run it in dual graphics mode.

Cons: None.

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: cheap

Cons: I installed this to my computer but the adapter just failed

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2).
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If possible verify the video card out on another working system to check.
4. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Best Regards,

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performer

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Inexpensive graphics card that straight up works. I am not a gamer and didn't need some crazy spec'd board. I mainly edit photos and put together videos from my gopro and such and needed a decent graphics card that won't make things take forever. It runs quiet and installed without issues.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: When I ran the Windows Experience Index Rating, I was disappointed at first. I saw 6.9 and was bummed...until I saw 7.9 was the highest. On that note, the graphics was the lowest point rated at 6.9, so for the price I paid, seems like a pretty solid value.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Bought this for a budget system, it plays Skyrim with mods on ultra.

Cons: Something screwy goes on with the driver sometimes, making the graphics bug out. I have to reinstall the Catalyst Control Center and restart the computer to return it to normal.

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: I use my computer for work (GIS field) and gaming (just starting though).
- Price
- Easy to install
- Game included with purchase (may/may not apply depending when you buy it)
- Does not require additional power supply (less cables to run)
- MSI provides a monitoring programming to see how the GPU is performing (FPS, Temp, GPU Usage, ect)

Cons: - Free game selection is limited and does not include AAA games
- MSI GPU monitoring software takes some time to understand/use

1 out of 5 eggsWebsite Misleading

This review is from: MSI R7 250 2GD3 OC Radeon R7 250 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: Company website lies about their max resolution.

Newegg didn't list the maximum resolution on this card, so I went to MSI's own website:
http://us.msi.com/product/vga/R7_250_2GD3_OC.html#hero-specification

Their page for this card says that the "Display Output Max" is 2560x1600, which is the resolution of my monitor. [And I have a screenshot of the entire webpage, in case they change it after reading this review.]

But when I installed it and the drivers, I only get 1920X1080!! After more research it appears that it's limited by the single DVI output.

But how can you claim to produce 2560x1600 on your website when you know the card can never output that resolution since you limited the DVI port!! Extremely misleading, and I consider it lying.

Other Thoughts: Don't trust this company!

Manufacturer Response:
