4 out of 5 eggsHighly recommended, Try this build!

Pros: - Four (4G) Gigabytes of GDDR5 memory, perfect for running 1080p triple setup monitors when running Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro 64bit
- High-Grade Custom Coolers keep the card at a steady 60 degrees celcius, reaching around 65 degrees centigrade at max with default auto fan speeds
- Backplate; Very effective at keeping the card from flexing, including protection from accidents (friend shorted his GPU once)
- Ability to run games at High to Ultra Settings, preferred you use only x2 Anisotropic filtering and Antialiasing off for high Framerates
- OC tool can be helpful for those who want an extra boost in gaming; MSi Afterburner is a standard default though
- Crossfiring this card can do wonders, especially if you watch the price on this thing go down to the 2G variant
- Got this card for $180 before it went back up

Cons: - This card gave me a headache in the first few weeks after purchase, mainly because drivers were constantly reverting back to default which halted my ability to use my new computer, although-
- AMD usually throws out drivers that kill performance, as I was playing Fallout 3 Ultimate Edition, and DX9 support was terrible, or even shameful
- I am dissatisfied that other customers DID NOT get a crossfire bridge with their purchases, because honestly a card going down at these prices at the time of purchase ($180) doing a dual card setup is brilliant, but having to be lucky to get one (my card came with one) it creates scenarios where Xfire Bridges have to be bought separately
- When returning a GTX 750Ti FTW Edition, my clumsy self left an SLi Bridge from my MoBo. Such disappointment, but I was Excited in trading it in

Other Thoughts: I am a very happy customer. This is my Second build, the first being a junker of spare parts and hand me downs from friends and colleagues who wanted me to pursue my love for Computers. This buid Consists of:

AMD FX-6300 3.5 ghz processor, Stock Cooler
MSi Gaming 970 Motherboard
GSkill Ripjaws-X 2x4GB 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 RAM
MSi R9 270x 4G Gaming Edition Graphics Card
One (1TB) Terabyte Seagate Barracuda HDD
Corsair Spec-01 Mid-Tower Gaming Case
Rosewill Green-Series 630 watt PSU, Single 12v Rail
x2 Coolermaster 120mm Fans, x1 Exhaust, x1 Intake funneling into Graphics Card

My last Review was aroubnd September of last year. Many cons have hindered my build, but workarounds and updates did the build a succesful finish.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat card while it worked

Pros: Great card while it worked.

Cons: Swapped out a HD 6870 2GB for MSI R9 270x Gaming 4GB to go with a MSI 970 Gaming motherboard Card lasted about 5 months Started up Civilization 5 loaded a saved game when I hit the next turn button the monitor flashed and changed to a brownish red color. After a reboot tried it again this time got a black screen the last time got a white screen. Swapped the card to another computer it booted a couple times now all I get is a black screen. Put in a MSI Radeon R9 270x Gaming 2GB and everything works fine. Bad video card.

Other Thoughts: I have used many MSI products and this is the first time I have had any issues with them Will try and warranty this one out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for frames

Pros: This is probably the best card for under $250 right now. Kills it in pretty much any 1080p gaming experience, has run everything I can throw at it. Good looks, quiet fans and almost a full coverage backplate.

Cons: Drivers. However, this is my own fault since I'm running Technical Preview, but after loading the Omega beta driver it works great. Always a bit of a chore when going Team Red.

Other Thoughts: There are a few good cards to choose from in this price range, but this is the only one I found sporting a backplate so that did affect my decision.

Pros: pretty good served its purpose, games at max settings on half the games at 30-50 fps good for me... THEN I CROSS FIRED THIS BE-ACH! I applaud this if crossfired

Cons: does not come with a crossfire bridge...

Other Thoughts: a bit weaker then I intended to buy... but crossfiring it made it worth its while

5 out of 5 eggs4GB R9 270X

Pros: Plays everything at ultra with no issues Call of Duty Ghosts maxed settings runs between 90-130 FPS. Handles anything you can throw at it! Runs cool even when overclocked!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Almost didn't fit in my case I had to move one of my hard drives out of my top removable bay to allow the card to fit. Planning on getting a full sized case in the near future. Plan on also getting another one of these for crossfire.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome card, Odd bootup

Pros: -Comes with XFire Bridge; Unlike before, w/ Youtubers getting them at launch/after release and reviewing
- Works great on my MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
- Ability to edit/render Video in Premiere Pro, just like my i7 Asus laptop, and w/ the 4GB VRAM at nice speeds
-Backplate! Thank goodness there is one, a friend damaged his Videocard by barely touching the PCB
-Original CD drivers are okay, but try to update to version 4.19 ASAP
-Runs at full load : 70 - 75 centigrade, but with my cooling rig it doesnt go over 60!
-Works great w/ FX 6300 BE, even with stock speeds
-No stutter for me; Don't go overboard w/ the video settings to prove a point!
-Silent, even at full load
-Works great with Monitors with Premiere Pro 64bit, and Photoshop w/ 3 Monitors @1080p

Cons: My Gaming 970 Motherboard is on Legacy +UEFI, but doesnt boot up the splash screen and I have to reset or reboot for it to show up. Booting into slow mode fixed it, luckily for that feature on the Motherboard, and I flicked the switch on the Graphics Card to legacy boot and did alternate tests with standard BIOS boot. With slow mode off and using fast boot, boot times are the same either way with each configuration. Maybe a little callibrating will fix the job.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything and more

Pros: Powerful
Quite(despite having two giant fans)
Looks Beefy(almost too beefy)
Xfire Ready(I cant wait to get another)

Cons: Like I said, almost too beefy. This thing is huge so make sure you have some good space inside your case.

4 out of 5 eggsStomps Hard and stays stomping.

Pros: I purchased this card as part of a new gaming build to make sure that I could run BF4 with all the bells and whistles and I was NOT disappointed. Game runs great and smooth (Even though I bought the wrong board and processor) and I wouldn't trade this card for the world.

*Runs cool and quiet even close to max load (though the stock software runs the fan dynamically you can tweak it for full power if you want)

*4 Gig model helps with lifecycle of my gaming machine

*Affordable enough to buy to and crossfire.

Cons: *Its big and unwieldy but what card isn't these days. (Want power? Make room for it!)

*Its a solid card buy I would of rathered it be a closed cooling solution so I can vent the exhaust one way.

1 out of 5 eggsFail.

Pros: Was fairly efficient when it ran (less than 6 months). It clobbered Battlefield 4 & Far Cry 3.

Cons: Only lasted between 5 and 6 months. Windows 7 would only boot to where the Windows symbol comes up but not to the login/username screen. (dark gray screen). Tried different drivers/versions of Catalyst. Reinstalled Windows 7. I spent hour and everything failed although oddly it WOULD boot into Safe Mode. Only got my computer to boot to Windows when I took out the 270X and put in my old 1 GB Nvidia card, and that only took minutes to get set up.

Other Thoughts: This was my first Radeon card. Quite probably will be the last -- the other 4 computers I built and still own (the wife & kids each have one) all have Nvidia cards. May get an EVGA / NVIDIA one.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected correctly and firmly (JPWR1 and JPRW2).
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If possible verify the MSI video card on another working system or verify another working card on your motherboard to check.
4. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 6am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.
