Hail to the King.

The MSI R9 295X2 8GD5, the coolest, quietest, fastest, and most advanced graphics card, is engineered for the ultimate performance. It employs two top-selected AMD Radeon R9 290X Cores and a mammoth 8GB of memory. A total of 2816x2 shaders running at 1018MHz provide more than 11.5 teraflops of computing power, which translates into effortless gaming at 4K or five Full HD 1080p monitors setting.

Beyond pure performance, this card comes equipped with closed-loop liquid cooling solution to ensure cool, quiet operation even under demanding loads. The exterior is a powder-coated machined aluminum shroud punched with industrial rivets, which is more professional in looks and more efficient in thermal dissipation. A full-length, solid metal backplate reinforces the card against impact damage, and helps with heat discharge.

This card also exclusively benefits from MSI Afterburner utility, which enables you to boost performance and to monitor all kinds of critical information in real-time.

Bring home this card today and take your gaming to the next level.

  • newegg The Graphics Champion The AMD Radeon R9 295X2 features two AMD Radeon R9 290X ASICs (formerly codenamed “Hawaii XT”) in their full configuration: 2816 shaders running at up to 1018MHz. In fact, 1018MHz is faster than the qualified clock speed of the AMD Radeon R9 290X. A total of 2816x2 shaders with 8GB memory work side by side making this card the undisputed graphics champion. (In a 3DMark Fire Strike benchmark test in 1080p, the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 outperforms the Titan Black, Nvidia’s highest performing graphics card as of March 12, 2014, by a score of 15,862 to 9,878 in the Performance preset, and 8,764 to 4,725 using the Extreme preset. Test system: Intel i7 4960X CPU, 16GB memory, Nvidia driver 334.89, AMD Catalyst driver 14.10 and Windows 8.1. GRDT-36)
  • newegg Factory-fitted liquid cooling system In an industry first, the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 graphics card reference design ships with an advanced closed-loop liquid cooling system developed jointly with Asetek. Enjoy cool temperatures, quiet operation, and consistently high performance, right out of the box.
  • newegg All metal construction Built from striking powder-coated aluminum, this GPU is beautiful to behold. It’s built to our highest standards, and it sends a message that’s loud and clear: this is serious hardware.
  • newegg Ultra resolution powerhouse For some gamers, having enough isn’t the point. For them, overkill is merely a starting point. That means extreme resolutions, multiple monitors and sliders to the max. Run ultra settings in 4K with impunity. Or get two million pixels more than 4K by combining five HD screens in an AMD Eyefinity technology setup. Either way, the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 barely breaks a sweat.
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio technology Technology that puts the magic of surround sound into every headset and helps give sound engineers the freedom to innovate in ways they’ve never had before. This is what the future of PC gaming sounds like.
  • newegg Afterburner Co-developed by MSI and Rivatuner, MSI releases the ultimate graphics card utility “Afterburner”. This utility enables all MSI graphics cards users to boost performance and to monitor all kinds of critical information in real-time. The latest version also supports in-game video recording for easy sharing and wireless control by Android/iOS handheld devices.

5 out of 5 eggs295X2

Pros: Absolutely destroys nearly any game even at 3840x2160 resolution. The frame time variance is also low, with frame times tending to hover around 20ms. While Nvidia solutions tend to have lower overall frame times, they'll have higher frame variance. That means comparing the 295X to say, 980 SLI, you'll have less microstutter. If you're especially sensitive to frame stutter then you'll want Crossfire over an SLI setup.

I have the radiator in a push-pull fan configuration and it has never gone above 67C. Pretty impressive considering the 500W power draw.

Cons: Still makes a lot of fan noise, especially during gaming in excess of 30 minutes. You can't control the fan profile on the radiator, but you can opt to buy a quieter fan and replace the reference fan.

The VRAM fan sounds like jet engine if the ambient temperature of your case gets above 27C

Other Thoughts: I RMA'd this card to Newegg thinking I had received a bad card (no video output) however the problem was in fact my motherboard. I had to update the BIOS for the card to properly initialize. My apologies to Newegg for being dumb.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3 and I had to update the BIOS to version F7.

3 out of 5 eggsNice but too hot

Pros: 30+ FPS @ 4K easily - hangs around the 40's with most games
1080p don't even run it it will barely drop below 100's with Max settings
Single Card
Price got it @ 1K

Cons: Low heat threshold
With low heat threshold comes throttling
AIO Cooler is not cutting it.
Price @1K - you will want a nice setup for it with the 500 you saved so water cooling is almost a must (at least for me it was).

Other Thoughts: Had to water cool it to get it to stop throttling but even with that the temps still get a little higher than I like.

In Stock form temps always seemed to reach 74-75 and then it started throttling.

After going complete water cooled it is better temps mostly reach 65 but it can and will get to 75 easy with water cooling w/o good circulation, I made that mistake earlier on and the water was pretty much boiling (had down system and pull case side door off).

5 out of 5 eggsPure Awesomeness

Pros: Excellent card

Cons: None, since the price went down

Other Thoughts: Could have used 3/4" tubing for watercooling.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat video card

Pros: This video card is fast I can play all my games at 2560x1600 max Ultra , the stock liquid cooling works good 56c max , the build quality is very good , runing BF4 2560x1600 Ultra run smoothly .

Cons: MSI people need to pay attention when packing your products missing adapters power connectors and MSI logo was glued very bad , I dont need the adapters and the MSI logo don't make loose performance but I just let you know of duty ghost is the only game running a 2560x1600 medium low too much stuttering but everybody knows call of duty ghost is junk from the day release new driver maybe fix it .

Other Thoughts: I found a lot people have problem with the second GPU [droop speed] well runnig benchmarks at 1920x1080 yes both GPU's droops but running same benchmark at 2560x1600 both GPU's running 100% all time .
