5 out of 5 eggsGreat for keeping PC alive!

Pros: -virtually universal with older PCs due to PCI interface
-no fan to deal with
-boosts performance immensely!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Why are so many people buying this expecting it to work with Windows 7! The Radeon 7000 series is from 2000-2001. ATI never even made a vista driver, so why would you buy a card that can't even work fully with vista. This card is great for basic applications in XP or to boost an aging PC a bit more, but other than that don't buy the card for windows 7 use. My AGP GeForce Ti4600 won't even work with windows 7, and it's probably 4-5 times faster than this card!

Pros: it fit in my computer and didn't get too hot. which is good, because my computer doesn't have an exhaust fan.

Cons: windows 7 doesnt support this hardware. there is no windows 7 driver.

Other Thoughts: dosnt get too hot, looks cool.
as long as your not useing windows 7 i think it should work.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Windows 7 driver!!

Pros: Nice box.

Cons: No Windows 7 driver. It ships with a Windows 98 and a Windows 2000 driver. VisionTek's web site has an XP driver, but that's the latest they offer on their web site.

No phone tech support - only email support that claims to respond within 24-48 hours. That's not good customer support in my book.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Supported in Windows 7

Pros: Cheap. Probably will work well with Windows XP or older OS

Cons: Will not work with Windows 7. As a matter of fact, any Radeon 7000 will not work with Windows 7. The maximum resolution I got was 1280x1024 since there are no drivers available for Win7 64bit for this card. Should have read the compatible OS list on the product.

Other Thoughts: I was in the market for PCI cards since my PCIe was all taken. Didn't do any research and just bought the cheapest PCI card I can find. Funny thing is that this card is actually listed as compatible in Windows 7 Compatibility list (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=ATI%20Radeon%207000%20DDR%2064MB%20Graphics%20Card&v=ATI&uid=100-430293&l=en-US&pf=0&pi=0&s=radeon%20x700&os=64-bit) RMAd the thing and went for NVidia GeForce 6200 instead.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible. Don't buy.

Pros: Price

Cons: No rotation support and no known literature states this fact. I bought these cards specifically for making one screen vertical.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy

5 out of 5 eggsGood upgrade for new monitor

Pros: Good upgrade to on board video in old Pentium 4 system. Needed to provide higher resolution for new 19" monitor. Inexpensive upgrade to keep an old system useful and avoid having to buy a new computer to use a higher resolution monitor.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work with P4P800-VM MB

Pros: Was cheap and has both composite and DVI output.

Cons: Didn't work for me. The product was either DOA or just incompatible with my P4P800-VM motherboard. I bought this as a cheap replacement for the on board video.

2 out of 5 eggsHardware No Longer Supported - Not Worth Purchasing

Pros: Small form factor, works well on older PCs with no PCIe.

Cons: No longer supported by Windows. Refuses to work on Vista or 7, in fact, it wouldn't output anything on my PC.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to add a third monitor without doing my homework first. The first and major red flag is no DirectX 9 support, at all. This instead supports DirectX 7 only. Installed every driver for it that I could find, Windows still refused to use it, instead it showed up in Device Manager as a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and would give an error saying that it could not start. The card really is obsolete anyways.
