1 out of 5 eggsNever buying VisionTek again!

Pros: Ran great when it worked.

Cons: Hot, hot, hot! Often peaked at 116C. Stopped working 1 year after installing. VisionTek will not honor their lifetime warranty because I do not have my receipt.

Other Thoughts: These high temp cards should really have dual slot coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsAll aound flawless!

Pros: Plays games at highest possible graphics like it's walk in the park. Dead Space, Devil May Cry 4, and Prototype on my 40" 1080p LCD like a dream. HDMI Audio drivers work right OOB no fiddling needed.

My biggest BIGGEST concern was noise. I don't like a hair dryer blowing out of my PC when I'm trying to play a game. I'm AMAZED i can't hear this thing. Dead silent during game play.

Cons: Can't find any cons.

Other Thoughts: Nothing less can handle 1080p on full graphics like this can. This is as budget as a serious gamer should get. Don't get a card rated lower than this you'll be disappointed. It's not very likely that you can be disappointed by this card. If you are then you need to be spending $400 on the highest end cards in which case you wont even be reading this.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Allows me to run my monitor at full 1080p, and Age of Empires 3 silky smooth at max settings. Brilliant for dual monitors, and very quiet. I'm not too big in to pc gaming at the moment, this card should be fine for me for quite some time even if I decide to get more games.

Cons: Ran in to some system instability when I first installed it, monitor would go blank, system would crash. I uninstalled and re-installed and now everything works fine. Blocks one pci slot, but its not that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: 1gb GDDR3, 256-bit, native HDMI, good price. Can't ask for much more.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Performance and Design

Pros: Good performance vs. price - a full 1Gig of real GDDR3, and a good A-C Accelero L2 give high detail at good resolution without a lot of noise. Plus, ATi Overdrive took it from stock 625/900MHz to 690/1100MHz - most of the way to HD4870 performance without the power demands or cost. Testimonial to the fan's performance, and the component quality. Yeah - heat sink on the voltage regulators a nice touch too.

Cons: Just a two wire fan? I had to whine about something.. <G> FWIW, in a review for a different product with the same fan, someone mentioned how much it hurts if the fan gets you at full speed. Well, that's over 30feet/sec at the pointy blade tip, and I can second the comment. Still healing three days later...

Other Thoughts: One of these is more than I need, and should hold me for at least a couple of years. Easily beat the HD4670s I tried when details turned up at 1920x1200; the old X1950 can go to pasture now... Oh - and, hoping Visiontek overcome their problems and stay in business, because they make really solid product.
