5 out of 5 eggs4 sheet metal screws and an old cooler fan makes this a lot better.

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: great card for the buck

Cons: gets hot. really hot really quick. caused system instability and lock ups, grabbed an old Pentium cooler unit out of the junk pile pulled the fan off the cooler used 4 sheet metal screws to attach it to he video cards cooler and the temp went down by 80% and the problems went away totally.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: is deceptively good for the price... no fan its a little slower than the newest models out there but its one of those deals it gets the job done! it runs even the newest mmos and games of that nature just fine.

Cons: heat sink so if you don't have lots of fans or watercooled set up be careful dont have your pc on all the time turn it off when your not using it

Other Thoughts: overall great product for the price

5 out of 5 eggsGood card

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: not the fastest but it works great and can be overclocked with ease and still run stable the HDMI port is a good idea as I use a 32"HDTV as a monitor I couldn"t get 1920x1080 resolution with a DVI cable but soon as I installed HDMI cable got great resolution at 1920x1080i and the detail of the picture was sharp and clear it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of some of the more expenive cards but for the price it is a great deal

Cons: a fan on the heat sink would be an improvement

2 out of 5 eggsImpulse buy made me cry... T.T

This review is from: Visiontek Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA)

Pros: It runs Minecraft on high quality video settings with minimal lag. It can handle Source games like TF2 and Gmod on medium-high video settings but sometimes (rarely) fails to render arms or guns or other things. I can get hours of entertainment outta this thing every night.

Cons: PASSIVE COOLING: this thing doesn't have a fan, only a heatsink. I live in a desert/valley where its about 100 degrees every day. This card gets as hot as 190 during the day and 150 during the night, and I'm pretty sure that is a bad thing. I've had many system crashes because of my lack of cooling. DO NOT BUY if you live in a hot area like I do.

Other Thoughts: I bought this at BB for about $30 more on an impulse without seeing an out-of-box model. If I knew it didn't have a fan, I wouldn't have got it. It does work however so I didn't return it, I figure it'll be good to use until I find a better, active-cooled card.
