5 out of 5 eggsEasy to setup and use

Pros: - Price, setup, it works with stock AMD drivers

Cons: - None so far

Other Thoughts: - needed this to setup dual monitors on a workstation. It was pretty plug and play. Win7 Pro

5 out of 5 eggsGreat workstation video card

Pros: - worked out of the box on my Ubuntu (still 12.04) configuration, including setting up dual displays once the system booted up
- fanless design for video workloads that are not GPU intensive, no additional noise and fewer moving parts to break

Cons: - Non to date for my usage pattern

Other Thoughts: I purchased this video card for an existing (linux) workstation that I had, but had previously only used the built-in video output from the motherboard. I use this box as an application development server, so the display needs are limited to text editors and web browsers at the high end. Purchased to be matched up with an existing AMD motherboard/processor.

5 out of 5 eggsSUPPORTS 3 MONITORS

Pros: Supports 3 Monitors

Cons: No Fan (could potentially overheat but hasn't).

Other Thoughts: I purchase a few of these cards for our office. This video card supports 3 monitors. On Windows 7 (and I assume 8) this works right away just by installing the drivers. On Windows Vista you have to install Catalyst and enable Eyefinity to get the third monitor to work. Don't ask me about "performance" as this GPU is strictly for the purpose of having a third monitor at a cheap price.

1 out of 5 eggsBlurry desktop with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Pros: Dual DVI & DisplayPort outputs

Cons: I built a machine & installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS tonight and the desktop windows and text are all blurry. I tried the drivers and the Catalyst proprietary drivers and the screen is still blurry. Not sure what is causing this.

5 out of 5 eggsRocking with 3 Monitors

Pros: Ultra Low Power - Lowest TDP of any Modern Video Card
2560x1440 Goodness on DisplayPort and DVI Ports
Triple Play Glory on One Divine Graphics Card
HTPC Nirvana - Silent and Strong Home Theatre PC Card

Cons: Poor Gaming, but ask me if I care - No 600+ Watt PS required
DisplayPort 5450 models cost more

Other Thoughts: Unless your a gamer, this is still the card to beat and amazingly it has been for about 5 years. If you want The Triple Play/3 Monitor Utopia then make sure your 5450 card has DisplayPort. VisionTek has very good tech support.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Linux

Pros: Works well under LInux for 3 monitors. Using Ubuntu 12.10.

Cons: None, need correct adapters/drives in Linux though. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: If you're using the two DVI ports and your third monitor will be using DVI as well via the display port port, you must use an active adapter. Otherwise only two monitors will function - initially tried with a passive adapter and it would not work.

I tried an Accell brand active mini dp to dvi cable (model recomended on AMD's web site) and it did not work. A Sapphire brand one worked right away.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 3-monitor solution

Pros: I bought this card specifically because it has two DVI and one mini-displayport. I drive two 24" Dell Ultrasharps and one 24" Apple Cinema Display. Running Ubuntu 12.04, I have one huge desktop with 3D acceleration working fine. This is no gaming card, but it's plenty fast for business. Fanless card is also silent and worry-free. I was nervous about going with a Radeon in Linux, but it runs perfectly. In fact, it's more stable than the Nvidia I replaced it with.

Cons: None. If you want 3 monitors for business and one needs mini-displayport, this is the perfect solution.

Other Thoughts: This card was cheaper than buying an adaptor to go from DVI to MDP. If you want to use an Apple monitor on a PC, this is a good solution.
