4 out of 5 eggsGood card.

Pros: I use the video card in my office and work properly. I didn't use the card with games.

Cons: Sometimes the configuration is crazy.

3 out of 5 eggsLittle known tip

Pros: A card that can run 6 monitors is awesome, if done right...

Cons: I read in a review for an older model of this same card, that greater than 3 monitors at once requires an ACTIVE adapter, and that the adapters the card comes with are PASSIVE, meaning you have to buy ACTIVE adapters. These ones (at the link) are recommended:

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Card for up to 3 Monitors

Pros: Looks nice
Feels nice
Good for 3 monitors or less

Cons: Unable to display more than 3 monitors.

Other Thoughts: As soon as I connect the unit with 4 monitors, 1 always doesn't show up. I had to return it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood card

Pros: This is a great card for gaming, it can play most games (my monitor's resolution ATM is 1280x1024, so I don't know how it'll fair at 1080p) from high to ultra settings. It's a very good little card, and it will surprise you. It'll games like DayZ or Chivalry (Chivalry's breaking point would be a 64 player server at custom settings which will pull you down to around 30 fps). Some games require a bit of playing around with the graphics settings to find that perfect balance of performance and quality. Newer games might require you to tone down the textures, this does not always apply but it's my go to if a game is not running well.

Cons: It gets hot. The hottest it's ever gotten is about 55C. Over the summer, I've decided to take some precautions so that it doesn't get too hot. I'll normally put my computer to sleep regularly, and I'll leave the ceiling fan on whenever I play games. This has proven to me that you can keep it cool, because after these precautions we're taken it now stays, on average, around 47C.

Other Thoughts: Whatever you do, don't over clock it. This is not meant for that. I tried it, with my asus bios template setting because I'm lazy, and the card got loud. Extremely loud, as in a constant buzzing noise like a bumble bee. Ever since I toned it down I haven't had a single problem again.

2 out of 5 eggsUnhappy with Visiontek support

Pros: When working properly, these are great cards - I have its predecessor (HD 6870) driving a 6-screen visualization wall at 5884x2216 after bezel compensation. With an IR touch bezel, folks love it.

Cons: I've received two cards in a row with problems on port 6, making them unusable in our application. All warranty requests must go directly through Visiontek, even though the card was defective on arrival. They only have refurbished cards available, as the production run has already finished for this card. The telephone support guys have been helpful, but they are not the same folks as the online support that have to issue RMA's. Two e-mails in two weeks, not a single reply. Not happy.

Other Thoughts: We are running monitors with DisplayPort inputs, so we haven't had to deal with the whole adapter issue. Eyefinity 6 is a great out-of-the-box solution for Windows. Two stars because it is great when it does work.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card

Pros: Very easy set up on Windows 7. I'm a noob so it was a little tricky getting the monitor set up right. Using this card to run 6 Dell UltraSharp U2312HM for work. I don't know how to do all the SLI and Crossfire business, so it was simple setting it up with the 6 mini display port outlets. If you have the money and need a 6 monitor set up, look no further.

Cons: Too pricey, but worth it.

5 out of 5 eggs6 Monitors online

Pros: Card works. I was concerned about the reviews and how they range, but the card works. It requires the ACTIVE Mini Display Port to DVI adapter for all 6 monitors to work. 2 are included in the box, so I had to order 4 more. You cannot use the PASSIVE Display Port to DVI which are the other 4 in box. I tried several configures but would not work, unless I used the Active HDI-D. Also one monitor didn't work using DVI connection, so my assumption is that it was an older standard and didn't understand the ACTIVE cable.

Cons: I could only get 3 monitors to work using the passive cables. Perhaps someone with more time to study configuration could get it to work and monkey around with the drivers.

Other Thoughts: My primary purpose of 6 monitors is for work and not gaming, so not sure what gaming performance would be like. I want one key and one mouse to rule all the monitors, so I can have different remote connections in each window

5 out of 5 eggs6 Displays that look great

Pros: The card works as I expected. All 6 displays were detected and working as soon as I installed the correct drivers and re-booted.

Cons: The files on the CD that came with it installed but the Catalyst Control Center Program would not run. I ended up having to get the drivers from the AMD/ATI site because the driver files on the VisionTek site were damaged.

Other Thoughts: Overall this card works great. I would like to have the abiity to turn on/off the eyefinity function without having to go thru as many steps as required now.

3 out of 5 eggsNice but tainted by lack of information

Pros: Video looks acceptable so far. (have not tested graphic intensive apps though). Multiple outputs work on Linux with the fglrx driver from AMD.

Cons: Read: Only 2 analog outputs (VGA) are supported. So if you connect mini display port to VGA adapters or variations thereof, only 2 VGA devices will work. The rest have to be digital. I verified this on the AMD web site (after spending a long time researching the issue) where this information was buried in an obscure location. For this reason I am only giving it 3 eggs.

Other Thoughts: I feel the manufacturer should be forthcoming with important information about their products. At least to me this information is important because we have to consider the cost of switching out out analog displays if we use this card. (The cost is multiplied because we would be using many of these cards).

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Does drive all monitors using 4 active adapters and the two included passive adapters. Performance is great

Cons: Eyefinity support is a bit weird when you have 12 displays

Other Thoughts: We just had a custom build where we have two of these in a PC to drive 12 17" monitors. One of the adapters is not working so we have 11 displays right now but they're working well. Will work towards an 18 display setup with a third card...
