1 out of 5 eggsNo Warranty, No Support.

Pros: Great when it works, but it seldom did.

Cons: The card was never stable in my system. It was the first to behave erratically in a series of 6, both AMD and nVidia. It was very underused, I don't play games, ever. Only BluRays, Streaming and video files, mostly MKVs. It had problems during streaming, especially with Flash, and it never worked well after I updated the software to anything higher than Catalyst 12.4. Black screens, picture shuddering, Flash videos freezing, Windows not posting, and to top it all it messed with my Pioneer Signature Elite Pro 141 so much that it burned a power regulator on the Monitor's MoBo. I noticed that it was getting worse and nothing I tried: hardware upgrades or software installation's did not work, as soon as I reinstalled my old XFX HD4650 everything was normal and functional. The VisionTek HD 7970 was dying, was not capable of displaying for more than 10 seconds without a black screen taking just as long. Bellow is an answer to my warranty request for the card that was supposed to have a 3 years warranty. If you don't register it in the first 30 days the warranty defaults to 1 year. In conclusion read the fine print and just in my humble opinion avoid VisionTek when it comes to support.

Support e-mail excchange:

I didn't register the GPU until last week.
I had an XFX die on me after 5 years in 2010, I registered it after 5 years of ownership and I still received a replacement card.
Silly of me to expect the same service from VisionTek. This registration policy is a trap for unsuspecting customers who don't read the fine print, and also a way to avoid a promise of warranty stated on the box of the product itself. It seems to me to be a shameful practice.
I will post about this on Newegg, and let everyone know about your "support" practices.
Thank you for an undelivered promise of professional support.
All best,

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed !!!

Pros: OC's very well & low temps (70c@ 70% fan).
Low power consumption,350 watts (total PC wattage) @ full mining load.
Mines @ 620 mh/s @ 1090 core & 1300 mem & 20% power control,fan @70%=68-70c.

Cons: Kinda loud.I use headphones though,so makes no diff to me.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Powerful, overclocks significantly with catalyst control center. Runs everything I have thrown at it maxxed so far at 1920x1080, even on a dated PCIe x16 (1.0) motherboard. Newegg was great as always.

Cons: Huge, but that was to be expected. I had to rework my HD cage to make it fit on my dated mobo/case combo. Check the dimensions ahead of time. The fan can be noisy if you manually crank it up above 40%. So far it has not been an issue while on auto.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this card

Pros: Card runs as smooth as butter and is giving me 0 problems. ASIC quality was high at 73.7

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I switched to this Visiontek from 2 very awful MSi Twin Frozr 7950s that both had artifacts and were no good. Ordered this card on sale with 4 free games and it was $370.00

Very pleased with my purchase. Now my man gaming rig is back up and running after waiting a month to sort out the MSi issues

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Bought two of these, both are running great. Easy overclockers. Handles BF3, Metro2033, anything else easily. Black PCB.

Cons: No display port to DVI adapter included. Box says warranty is 3 years, other model is lifetime, newegg lists this one as lifetime. Just a bit odd.

Other Thoughts: Reference PCB, using koolance 797 waterblocks. Upgraded from 4890s, huge difference in dx11 titles.
