OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
Make your friends envious with EVGA’s e-GeForce 8800GTS KO w/ACS3. Yes, that’s a lot to say . . . so just leave the box out where they can see it. Of course, leave two out so they know you’re running them in SLI configuration . . . just to rub it in.

The 8800GTS GPU from NVIDIA has been kicked up from 500MHz to 588MHz and the shader clock has gone from 1,200MHz to 1840MHz for maximum gaming performance. This combined with the 320MB of GDDR3 memory will let you run two large displays at up to 2560x1600 resolution from the two dual-link DVI ports. Of course the card is built for Vista. It will easily handle any version you want to throw at it. And with Vista you get DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0 support which enables you to play the most advanced games on the market.

The built in TV encoder supports HDTV, S-Video and Component video out. It should go without saying that HDCP is enabled so you can view programming in full HD mode. NVIDIA’s PureVideo brings the technology from high-end video equipment to your computer. Dedicated processing cores and software delivers a vivid, lifelike picture free of the annoying artifacts and imperfections you get from standard PC-based video solutions.

Incredble

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This thing is fast. 2-fold increase over my 6800GT, which I considered pretty adequate. It can run Oblivion smoothly at 1280x1024 with all video settings maxed out. It never goes below 60 fps in Source engine games. 137 FPS in the Lost-Coast Video Stress Test with all settings maxed out. (I paired this with an Athlon X2 6000+, so YMMV).

This card also supports transparency anti-aliasing, which makes things like trees and shrubbery in games look MUCH better.

When shopping for an 8800GTS card, I looked for the one with the biggest cooler, since no 3rd party solutions exist at this time. The fan on this one is pretty quiet and keeps it pretty cool.
Cons: 1. Power hungry.
2. Somewhat large.
3. I cant get it to resume from S3 standby (the screes stays blank), but that may be due to other factors. (i.e. other conflicting hardware, PSU problems, software/driver issues)
Other Thoughts: This card is exactly 9" long, from the face of the bracket to the edge of the PCB. You'll need an extra half inch or so to plug in the power connector though. Measure your case before you buy!

It also supports HDR and anti-aliasing simultaneously in Oblivion, something I don't think you can do with 7-series or below cards. Beware, though, because with anti-aliasing enabled in Oblivion, the performance hit is very evident.

Another nice touch is you don't have the brief video cut-out when switching from 2D to 3D mode with the same resolution. It's a little thing that I like, because it means I don't get this annoying resolution pop-up from my LCD monitor.

This is probably the best buy for an 8800 series card. It clearly has the best performance/cost ratio.

Pros: This card is amazing. If you are like me and play at resolutions of 1600x1200 or less, then this card will not only be cheaper than any 640mb gts card, but will actually perform better more times than not.
Yes, BETTER!

Its clock speeds are even faster than than the evga superclocked version. And these high clocks do make up a lot for not having more RAM, and costs just a few $$ more.

The few extra $$ are worth it for the faster yet clock speeds, but you also get the ACS cooling as an added bonus, which I have found to make my card run at least 5c cooler than what people report with the normal cooler.

If you do play at resolutions beyond 1600x1200, then perhaps pony up some more $$ and go with the 640mb card. If you don't have the extra $$, then still go with this card as you won't find any better for this price or less.

In conclusion, this card is the king of all the 320mb cards and is worth every penny!
And, this card can OC even further if you are up to it!
Cons: What ever happened to hardware getting smaller and better? Graphics cards are evolving in reverse as far as size, getting bigger every series!

This thing is a monster, and yes it may cover sata ports. It covered a couple of mine that aren't being used, but if I had to, I could probably fit a sata cable under the card but you would really have to bend it.

Furthermore, due to that and the weight, make sure this thing is secure. Its very heavy and I don't doubt something bad could happen if it isn't secured.

Size and weight aside, any other issues or glitches experienced at this point is due to drivers, which are getting better. I personally haven't had any issues yet after 2 weeks.

This card does require the 6 pin plug from your psu, however they do provide an adapter to create your own (as well as other accessories).
So basically, just make sure your power supply is at the very least 400 watt w/ 26v on the 12v line.
Other Thoughts: evga I think is the best company to buy from. yeah, you pay a little more $$ for their products, but not much. And having their products is worth it.

They are solid as a rock, generally are better performers, and not to mention the lifetime warranties and step-up program. Just make sure you register your card at their site when you get it.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Even though it comes with a decent OC, I was able to squeak some more out of it. I upgraded from a fairly old card (FX5900), so of course this card blew me away. Runs smooth and no issues to speak of. Nice package. Exactly what I was looking for at the price.
Cons: It'll add some heat to your case and takes up 2 PCI slots worth of plug-in space. Of course anyone buying this card already knows that.
Other Thoughts: Planning to add a second one in the future, which should solidly outperform the GTX for not much more money.

Pros: 1. It made my computer faster, the graphics looked a lot better even on the bios post screen. Anyway if you got the money I would go for the 8800 ultra.
Cons: Price!!! I am always very tired and I wasn't thinking the one day when I was surfing the net so I bought this but I don't regret it. I just don't got the money for a good graphics card like this one so now I have to sell every electronic I own just to get my money back including this computer with the 8800gts. I am so mad.
Other Thoughts: guess I should sleep more but I got too much on my mind. Girlfriend, School, 3 jobs.

I have the following: amd athlon 64 X2 4200+, Asus M2N4 Sli, 2gb ddr2, 300gb hard drive, 500 watt Dynex power supply, Antec 900 pc case, evga geforce 8800gts.

I went to a forum and the people their said that I needed to upgrade my power supply and my cpu or the computer would lag a lot but I have been experiencing No lagg so I think they just wanted me to waste more money into this computer.

Pros: This card is great for gaming. I purchased one recently for gaming purposes and I am not dissapointed at all. Used 3DMark06 to check how much I got compared to my 8500 GT card and the improvement is big. The fan is silent, which makes this a great purchase.
Cons: It's huge!!!, make sure your motherboard is not a Micro-ATX or you will have a heck of a time installing it. I had problems installing mine due to the size of it, but managed to get a SATA Card and move some cables around and now the card is inside my HP Pavillion m8100n.
Other Thoughts: The card is almost a foot long. So make sure it fits on your case and that it won't cover or crush any cables.
