4 out of 5 eggsGood Card,Runs Games

Pros: Runs Oblivion on high-med - low-high settings @1280x1024, which is great.

Runs earlier games (Sim City 4, Empire Earth 2) no problem: top resolution, all settings maxed.

Great card, great specs. Not noisy, from my limited experience with different cards; however, isn't louder than my case fans, doesn't keep me up when I fall asleep to my movies.

Cons: Well... none really. Not DX-10 I guess.

Other Thoughts: Running: Athlon X2 3800, 1 gig pc2-675, 400 watt power, nvidia board.

One thought: sucks that it's so expensive now. I bought it new for 140 a few months ago.

5 out of 5 eggsBig Brother

Pros: Super Fast, kills games like a Marlon Brando at a buffet. Decent price.

Cons: No dx 10 support, not an 8 series

Other Thoughts: Ok I don't have this exact card, but I do have the 7950GT with 512mb and it has been nothing but a dream. Hot! get some case fans people mine has 6...maybe 8 not sure though. You really don't need that many but you know what I'm saying.
Any way this card creams games like Oblivion, Hit Man: BM, FEAR and the list goes on. I would buy another just for SLI but I'm broke.
FX-55 3.0ghz, A8N32-SLI, 1GB XMS DDR, 580w Raidmax, 7950GT, Raid Max Smilodon*get this case huge sturdy and lots of fan mounts!* Win XP Pro

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money

Pros: Great card for the Price I paid... 160 with shippping and 20 rebate (which I got pretty quik) - Bought another one of Ebaye for 109 shipped.... can't wait to SLI them... DX10 who cares and Nvidia should make a Unified Driver for them - I use a Zalman cooler for this one... Which works great - probably will run water cooled on 2nd one... The card does run hot so beware of it.... I dont plan on buying another video card ever again for this PC - Will buy a MAC next time with fast Core Duo...

Cons: Bummer Price was high - Also the first card I got - did not work - second one did...

Other Thoughts: I am sure 8800 are fast - but for the pirce for both of these - who needs that Especially in SLI mode - I

Cons: Cant seem to find another card to put on SLI , sold out :(

Other Thoughts: This a sweet spot till more direct X10 games come out and also prices of those cards come down. my pc 3800+ X2/4x512 MB OCZ Platinum,7900GS KO,160 GB Maxtor/Asus A8N-SLI SE

5 out of 5 eggssolid card

Pros: its a solid card, handles all my games on max or close to max settings easily (Dawn of War, C&C3, the Sims 2, and WoW)

Cons: once the fan gets up to max speed (which is almost whenever its under any kind of loud) it can get pretty loud. its the loudest part in my system. but it stays somewhat cool. never seen it go over 45c under high load for several hours straight in a stuffy room. so the loud fan does work at least.

Other Thoughts: when I got it was in the low hundreds, now it seems like its in the 2xx range and sold out.. either a bunch of people realized how great the card is or EVGA is putting way less attention on making these cards to sell their 8xxx series.. probably both..

5 out of 5 eggsBought with SLI intentions

Pros: Surprisingly Overclocked really well. Super stable, great FPS, settings cranked up, dual monitor gaming, no crashes/artifacts with Oblivion, Lego Star Wars, Guild Wars, COD2, F.E.A.R.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I bought this with the hope that SLI technology will take off and if I buy another 7900 card down the road it will pay off vs. buying a single GPU powerhouse now.
Like most folks are saying, we are in a transitionary period between Dx9 & 10 but all I see is people having issues with the 8800's right now. Don't worry that if you buy this card it will be outdated too fast. It takes TIME for developers to make games that utilize the new DX10 stuff. Why pay $500 for a card that isn't going to get to show off its stuff for at least a year? Even the first generation DX10 games aren't going to blow us away because they'll be rushed out the door, just like they always are.

5 out of 5 eggsI couldn't have bought a better card

Pros: It makes games smoke!!

Every game I have (all very recent) runs at highest resolution, highest quality settings over 60FPS. (My LCD refresh rate is 60Hz, so NO card could do better.)

Cons: If you're a fan of games that flicker and lag... don't get this card.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure if I owned an inadequate CPU, I would get worse results. But this card isn't the bottleneck. Also, the SLI compliance means if games become more intense in the future, I can buy the same card again at that time (way cheaper I assume) and it will double performance without having to throw this one away.

I could have paid more for higher-end card, but I get 60FPS at highest settings on the best games, so why would I?

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect transition card

Pros: 256 mb, 256 bit, DDR3 ram!, SLI compliant,... shreds through any game out there at max settings with a decent cpu. VERY QUIET (loudest fan in my case but thats to be expected for a video card)

Cons: not directx 10 compliant.. but perfect price for transitioning into the directx 10 era

Other Thoughts: 2.0 amd 64 3800+, 1 gb ddr2, 250 gb hard drive, nvidia mobo. basically the acer t-150 with some upgrades

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card

Pros: Basically, this video card is excellent! No lag. Came with a great game: Hitman. I maxed out everything within the game and had no problems.

Cons: I don't have another one. Two would blown your brains out.

Other Thoughts: It's worth the money. Fast shipment. Read the requiremnets before buying.
