5 out of 5 eggsThis card truly is a beast! Great for Crysis!

Pros: I love this card. Luckily I got a great deal on it during the panic caused by the GT release, which has now settled down and people realize that a GTX such as this is still top dog.

Who should get this card? Well, if you play at resolutions of around 1680x1050 or higher, then this card is definitely for you if it is in your budget. Even if it isn't in your budget, it might be worth going out of your way to find a good deal on it and buy it. This is also a great card if you are like me and don't have an SLI mobo or great cooling.

Even at lower resolutions this card beats a GTS or GT. However, where this card really shows its true power is at higher resolutions with a little AA and AF cranked up.

Currently, with vista, 2gb ram, and an e6600 @ 3.2ghz, I am running Crysis demo w/High settings @ 1680x1050 w/4xAA and it is running smooth as butter!

I almost hate to call this card a GTX because with the KO clock speeds, this card is basically an Ultra but with ACS cooling!

Cons: Not really a con, but just a note... This is a HUGE card. I thought my GTS KO card was both heavy and huge at 9 inches long. But this card is even bigger as it is a whopping 10.6 inches long! Be sure to take a measurement in your case before buying to make sure it will fit, or at least be sure that you can customize your case so that it will fit.

However, I don't mind the size too much. In fact, the size of the card actually seems to partition my case and due to that my temps have actually dropped in certain areas! Embrace the enormity! Show this sucker off!

Anyhow, size is only a con if you can't fit it in your case.

Other Thoughts: While I'm sure this card is amazing in SLI, I think it is important to note that this KO card really does make a great single card solution for the latest games such as Crysis.

There isn't a whole lot of people now playing the Crysis demo who can say that they can play 1680x1050 with High settings and 4x AA and still run smooth. But if you get this card and have a decent dual core cpu and meet the other requirements, then you should be able to do just that. In fact, you could very well be able to go beyond those kinds of settings. I haven't even tried yet. I might dare myself to try 8x AA just with the factory OC.

And lastly, from my experience KO cards do seem to OC as well as any other card despite the already high factory overclocks. You could very well push clocks well past the factory KO defaults and not overheat the card. I don't know that I will, but its nice to know that I can if I want to and without paranoia thanks to EVGA's awesome support and return policies.

5 out of 5 eggsBEST 8800 GTX EVER!!!

Pros: High frame rates, blazes through game loads, very stable at oc speeds, and comes with a great warranty.

Cons: Generates a LARGE amount of heat, but that should be expected from such a high performance GPU.

Other Thoughts: As I mentioned above this card gives off a lot of heat, so I run the 8800's fan at 85& in Nvida control panel for normal use, but when gaming I would suggest running it at
100% (only goes up to 99&) if you don't want to fry it. Water cooling this monster would be a good idea.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a pwnstar

Pros: I honestly had my jaw drop after this puppy was installed. Idle's at 70c with max load it hits 77c-78c. No modified cooling or anything. I'm sure if it were watercooled it would drop only slightly as these cards tend to be in that range. It puts games to shame as they try to keep up. flat 60FPS on most the games I'm running maxed. Quake4(soon to be enemyterritory), BF2142...

Cons: I say this in every review. You get what you pay for. By paying for this you get awesomesauce in a box.

Other Thoughts: Riva Tuner is your bestfriend with this piece of hardware. It'll help you monitor core temps, voltage, usage, practically anything. And if you dare it'll software OC it for you but do this at your own risk as it's basically how EVGA did it so it's prolly near it's max or it would have been pushed to their higher line GPU section.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Worth it

Pros: This Card is GREAT. I get over 200fps in source and half life 2. Card looks great, cooler works well. At Idle it runs about 54C which it great i thought it would be like 90C.

Cons: I don't have the money for another.

Other Thoughts: Cooler master stacker 830, 2.4ghz core 2 quad, 2GB ddr2 800@4-4-4-12 2.05V, Evga 680i Motherbored,Evga 8800gtx KO, 620 watt Corsair PSU. X-FI Xtreme music. 2x 250gb seagate barracuda in raid 0. liteon sata DVD-rw

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, Lots of Heat

Pros: Sickeningly high frame rates, well built design, solid heatsink.

Cons: The card outputs MASSIVE amounts of heat. The framerates are amazing, but the card can get hot enough to overheat other components in your system. My wireless card kept crashing until I moved it down

Other Thoughts: My card died after a few weeks of operation. RMAing the card. Not sure if I got a dud. Subtracting 1 point from the rating due to the sheer amount of heat generated.

5 out of 5 eggsJust wow...

Pros: Just bought a brand new system with this two bad boys, got it all hooked up to day and everything runs eggcellent. I installed oblivion right away to show its true colors and it ran it with everything to the max perfect. Highly recommend this card.

Cons: None whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 3.06 ghz, 2 8800 GTX ASC3's, 2 GB Corsair Dominator XMS2 @ 1200 mhz, 150 gb Raptor.. all in a Coolermaster Stacker 830.

5 out of 5 eggsto eVGA RMA SUCKS

Pros: That is not true. I had a 7900 GT superclocked that would up crapping out on me, and when it died eVGA had no more superclocked 7900 gt's, so they sent me a 7950 GT KO 512 to replace the 7900 GT 256 when it died. Haven't had an issue since

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: evga and newegg ROCK

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: Fantastic performance. Run Supreme Commander @ max settings with 1,000 units == no lag, S.T.A.L.K.E.R max settings == no lag, HL2 max settings == no lag. 3DMark06 I got just over 12k (E6600 @ 3.0 ghz processor). So far this card takes everything I throw at it.

Cons: WIDE and LONG. Make sure you have room around the slot. I had to move the hard drive carrage (lani li case) from the bottom to the middle area cause the card was too long. Eats up adjacent pci slot.

HOT HOT. Card runs about 65 deg Celcius under load, about 40 idle. I can heat my office about 10 deg farenheight after about 1 hour of gaming. I have a fan installed where the hard drives would normally be blowing air over the card and she still hits those temps.

Other Thoughts: Can get within 10% of this card performance-wise with the GTS and save yourself some cash. Only get this if you have deep pockets or you have the "ours goes to 11" attitude :)

5 out of 5 eggsAn excellent top off for you high end system

Pros: This thing is unbelievably fast. Runs the newest games at 1600x1200 at least 30 fps, usually higher. Factory overclocked for an edge over the normal 8800s and the huge heatsink/fan combo is appealing to the eye and seems to get the job done.

Cons: The card is HUGE! Be absolutely sure it'll fit in your case. I had to mod my Lian Li S80-B to fit the card in. It can also restrict air flow and makes it hard to play with the other components. The card is also incredibly hot. In a hot room, the card can idle in the 70s (celsius) at stock settings. For some unknown reason, the fan only runs at 20% at idle. You almost HAVE to run a third party app to set your own fan rules--I'd recommend a straight 100% all the time, though this can be a bit loud. If you don't set fan rules, expect game crashes and the card to turn itself off from time to time--especially under Vista.

Other Thoughts: I know the cons is long, but if you're getting this card you should be well equiped to deal with them. This is the card for high end gamers and is well worth the price, despite some of the annoyances of the card.
