Crush your enemies and see them driven before you: that is what’s best. The factory super-clocked GeForce 8800Ultra video card from EVGA helps make it happen. The core clock is boosted from 612MHz to 655MHz and the memory clock at 1,125MHz (2,250MHz effective) instead of 1080MHz. It includes DirectX 10 support for crushing superiority in even the most modern games. When they start start to catch up, slip another card in and watch SLI mode almost double your video power.

Output is through 2 dual-link DVI-I ports for up to 2 monitors, or a monitor and a TV. If you haven’t jumped to flat panel monitors, or if they don’t have DVI ports, you’re still okay with two DVI to VGA adapters. There is also an S-Video port for HDTV/component video as well as S-Video signals. The DVI ports are HDCP capable so you can watch HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs in full HD mode.

NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology combines high-definition video engineering for amazing clarity with smooth video, accurate color and precise image scaling. Built on its own core, it provides the great picture and movies with minimal CPU tie-up. The advanced shader processors deliver Quantum Effects Technology, a new level of physics effects rendered on the GPU. These combine to deliver stunning visual landscapes while allowing the CPU to focus on the game engine and AI. Get one of these, or even two, and there'll be no more excuse for losing!

  • newegg NVIDIA Unified Architecture with GigaThread Technology The fully-unified shader core dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics and pixel shading operations, delivering incredibly true-to-life 3D graphics. In addition, the massively multi-threaded architecture supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Support The DirectX 10 GPU with full Shader Model 4.0 support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.
  • newegg NVIDIA Lumenex Engine The NVIDIA Lumenex Engine supports 128-bit and 64-bit floating point HDR with up to 16X anti-aliasing, delivering vividly realistic lighting effects while obliterating “jaggies”.
  • newegg NVIDIA SLI Technology Delivers up to 2X the performance of a single GPU configuration for unmatchable gaming experiences. The must-have feature for PCI Express graphics, NVIDIA SLI technology allows two graphics cards to run in parallel and dramatically scales performance on today's hottest games.
  • newegg NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology The combination of high-definition video decoding acceleration and post-processing delivers unprecedented picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color and precise image scaling for all video content, especially movies.
  • newegg Built for Microsoft Windows Vista Built for Windows Vista, NVIDIA's fourth-generation GPU architecture offers users the best possible experience using the Windows Aero 3D graphical user interface available in Microsoft latest operating system.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: What can i say that everyone else has not already said. This card does not have any problems with video game graphics, at least not the games i play. Works as advertised! Can not beat the delivery, got to me with a quickness.

Cons: none so far... unless you count the fact that there are currently no Mother Boards that support dual AMD quad core (AM2+) and SLI...

Other Thoughts: HUGE! i read a few of the reviews that said this thing was big, and kind of shrugged it off. To those of you who are thinking about getting this card, especially if you plan on running SLI, make sure that your motherboard will support this/these cards. i had to do some modifying to get this card to sit right, which is my own fault for not reading about this card and measuring. all i had to do was rearrange some SATA cables but it took me a few minutes to figure out what was keeping this card from locking in place. there is no way i will be able to run SLI on my current board. but again, this is not a fault on the manufacturer's part, it is my ignorance.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Lord

Pros: This video card is the king of all video cards. eats though everything I throw at it. It truly is a giant! the directx 10 is truly a nice addition and if you're thinking of running vista, this babe will make you vista experience much more pleasant.

Cons: consumes a lot of power and gets pretty hot, but just crank up the board's fan using rivertuner or watercool it and it should be fine.

Other Thoughts: make sure you have a good power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing card

Pros: This card is truly amazing, you can run crysis at all very high settings with just one of these cards.

Cons: This thing is HUGE!!! I couldnt believe the size of this beast till i took it out of the box and realized it looked like brick. I don't think i'll be able to put aonother one in my antec 900 case, which by the way keeps everything very cool. I can only say that i wish it was smaller. The price is alot, but well worth it.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a good processor and good ram because you wont be able to use the card to its full potential. My processor gets way to hot and slows down my game play so i just ordered a new heatsink, hopefully this will help my problem. I'm using a hanns G 28 inch monitor 1080p hdmi, antec 900 case, 4x1gb ocz reaper ram with the heat pipe ( great product) intel e6850 at 3.0ghz not overclocked yet till this heatsink comes. ALL IN ALL, THIS IS THE BEST GRAPHICS CARD TO DATE, make sure you have sufficient room if you are going to run sli, something bigger then an antec 900.

4 out of 5 eggsObjective-non-partial

Pros: Of course; if you know how to use; it will preform to spec.

Cons: For the price can it stand up to what the new year(s) bring. ASK your self WHY has Nvidia not put GDDR4 to use in a PCIe 2.0 High end card? For that price I am sorry but these cards nolonger hold thier own.

Other Thoughts: Newegg I beg you to post this;
GDDR3 -vs- GDDR4 read up!
PCIe 2.0 ? on this high a card
note same with ATI-why?
For 7 or 8 bills
The ATI 2900XT 1GB GDDR4 743, 2000... I own both GTX, ULTRA 2900, 3870. Benched 'em all. I am sorry but the GDDR4 and the clock that easily pushes to 824MHz... ATI is Back in the GAME! Think HARD before you drope $1600.00 or if you're thinking of the 780i "as I am; I haven't given up on Nvidia: so youd be droping &2100.00 for 3 GTX or ultas. All I can say is I put 2 2900XT's GDDR4 up against two Ultra's.There just was not enough difference to warrent the extra cost. And when ATI puts out a compliment to the 2900/3870
Look out. the 2900GDDR4 win. BUT the same in GDDR3 loose just other thoughts

5 out of 5 eggsRoom heater

Pros: I was looking for the highest stable "Ultra" card available, this is it. I have two in SLI mode, the cards have performed flawlessly, be prepared to iron out SLI with you MB, Video Drivers & Operating System. Once you get everything pointed in the right direction these cards fly. Plays DX10 games Crysis demo, UT3 demo & COD4 @ 1920 X 1200 very well.

Cons: It will warm up your room, they blow out some hot air, running smooth with good case air flow and room for hot air to move out the back will keep your room a few degrees warmer.

Other Thoughts: For the best performance be prepared to load the latest drivers for you MB, nVidia and your OS. If you want SLI you will have to enable it, I've found Vista nVidia drivers disable SLI by default.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Video Card

Pros: Great Video Card, Doubled/Tripled performance of my 7950GX2

Cons: Don't buy it for Crysis because the Very High settings are designed for graphics cards that aren't even out yet. Running the game at 1600x1200 with all Very High setting and no AA I only average 16FPS.

5 out of 5 eggsFassssttt

Pros: It's the king of graphics, it's fast and it's stock overclocked. Helped me score 11500 on 3DMark06 with my X2 6000+ system.

Cons: Heat isn't a problem, it helps warm up my room on cold days lol. What was I thinking spending this much on a video card??

Other Thoughts: Honestly, buy 2 new 8800GT's instead of this card, I would have. Although the new GTS's are supposed to be even better so just wait, this costs too friggen much.
