Don’t give up on your AGP system just yet. EVGA’s GeForce 7800GS-based AGP card can easily handle today’s games and software. Full DirectX 9 and OpenGL 2.0 support lets you enter and explore today’s 3D world with ease. The dual-link DVI-I port supports extreme high definition resolutions up to 2048x1536.

The integrated TV encoder lets you send output to your set with minimal hassle. The S-Video port can also output a component HDTV signal. Of course, you could just use the DVI-I port for an all-digital HD experience.

MAJOR power hog

Pros: Can't tell because I can't get the board to run.

Cons: Published spec is wrong
Most power supplies can't handle this chipset.

Other Thoughts: The nVidia spec states that a 350W or higher power supply is required to run the 7800GS. The manufacturer states (over the phone) that this spec is very misleading. The real spec is 19-20 amps CONTINUOUS (not maximum) on the 12V rail. Many power supplies, even in the 500-600W range, do not provide this much current at 12 volts. Check your power supply carefully before you buy this card.

Pros: This is the card to own for all that do not want to switch over to PCI Express just yet and want to milk all your other hardware in your computer. The unbelieveable frame rate with this card is speechless. I play all my games full tilt graphics just as 1600by1200 at 16x antialiaing with textures all the way up. Games i play are battlefield 2142 never winter obilivion etc etc etc and brother in arms HL2. and this card plays all these games with ease. Now you do not have to send like 1000 on quad video cards like a was gonna do when this is just as good a solution to what i was looking for. To play all the lastest and greatest game on full graphix.

Cons: The only thing i could find wrong with this card is that . . . . . . . . . hmmmm nothing i cant think of anything.

Other Thoughts: Get this card and you will be happy trust me on this one. I have been in computers for 15 years ever since my 286 and i gotta tell ya this is the way to go.

Gives Life To Old AGP

Pros: Evga Lifetime Warranty
Went from geforce 6600GT to this card and it will be the last upgrade i make on this system and im happy i did im playing COD4 @ 1680x1050 with 30-90FPS. I also checked some of my other games like dnd online, tabula rasa and they went from low - high & very high settings.

Cons: It is agp if you can afford pci-express go for that.

Other Thoughts: Looked at XFX. After the reviews and speaking to other techs they advised me to stay away from XFX and Im happy i waited for this.

Pros: If you have an aging AGP 4x/8x this card if for you! This card just replaced a Nvidia Geforce 6200 and what a huge difference! All settings are now on high and runs great with my AMD 3200+ overclocked at 2.4Ghz on an Asus K8N MB with 2gigs Corsair RAM. UT2004, COD2, Company of Heroes, Prince of Persia, Command and Conquer 2 & 3, Team Fortress 2 and HL2 all looked fantastic!!! Have yet to play Bioshock, I'm looking forward to that! Extremely easy install, super quiet, and came with an adapter for a standard monitor plug! I didn't use the drivers from disc just went straight to Nvidia web site for drivers and had no troubles installing.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Got to love Newegg! If it wasn't for them it would almost be impossible to get AGP cards these days! This should keep me from having to update to a whole new machine for a little while longer!

Pros: Install smooth. No apparent defects. Unbelievable improvement over previous card. Ran Oblivion, Call of Duty 4, etc. all out with virtually no degradation.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: Prior research before purchasing proved the general consensus about the card was positive. Of course I can't A-B every AGP card out there, but this is definitely worth the bread. Oh yeah, NewEgg just nailed it like usual. I got this baby in one day!
