Happy, but why did the price go up?
- Pros: Good card for what was the price
- Cons: they knocked this card up to $350? I had to double check my invoice from newegg dated 3/21/2008, i only paid 259.99 at the time.
Best Bang for the buck
- Pros: The performance of this card is fantastic.
- Cons: Fan spins too slow, so card gets really hot, and won't automatically spin faster till the card reaches 85F... eeek. Only way around it so far, is to 'manually' set it to run faster, but then it's louder when you're not gaming
- Other Thoughts: evga 780i, E3110, 2x2gb xms2, 2 Rapotors Raid0, Antec P182.
This is the sweet spot for price/performance
- Pros: Performance, Crysis game bundle, fan noise, heat, and eVGA's step-up program
- Cons: None so far
- Other Thoughts: If you're looking for the best card for price/performance, this is it. The step-up program is also the best thing going I've seen from any of the card manufacturers. I traded up to a single 8800GTS from a dual 7800GTX SLI config and couldn't be happier.
