5 out of 5 eggsFinally dying after outstanding performance.

Pros: All other reviews of this are pretty accurate. This was a remarkable card for its time. I bought it in 2008 and have been using it in my main PC ever since. It has never come across a game I couldn't run at fairly decent video settings.

Cons: Nearly 6 years after purchasing, the card is slowly failing. Pixels randomly show up around my screens even if there's nothing running. I even occasionally get blue screens. I've reduced my setup from 2 to 1 monitors and it has noticeably reduced the chances of a BSOD (but has not stopped them entirely).

Sad to see such a nice card bite the dust, but I fear I only have a short time left before it dies entirely.

Other Thoughts: I've performed a very long list of tests and driver tests. Through 3 reformats and re-installs of the OS, different drivers, and new cables, I've finally confirmed that the card is reaching the end of it's life. I am still giving this card 5 stars because for a graphics card to perform so well for six years straight of a heavy-pc user (on a computer that is on 40-80 hours a week) is pretty outstanding. I am even more impressed that the fan on this card has lasted this long when usually the fan is the first thing to fail.

Even though this card is becoming one of the past and quickly outdated by far superior cards out there, should you stumble upon this card I would absolutely recommend it. It's very affordable and I am happy with the years I had with it.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy, but why did the price go up?

Pros: Good card for what was the price

Cons: they knocked this card up to $350? I had to double check my invoice from newegg dated 3/21/2008, i only paid 259.99 at the time.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for the buck

Pros: The performance of this card is fantastic.

Cons: Fan spins too slow, so card gets really hot, and won't automatically spin faster till the card reaches 85F... eeek. Only way around it so far, is to 'manually' set it to run faster, but then it's louder when you're not gaming

Other Thoughts: evga 780i, E3110, 2x2gb xms2, 2 Rapotors Raid0, Antec P182.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the sweet spot for price/performance

Pros: Performance, Crysis game bundle, fan noise, heat, and eVGA's step-up program

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for the best card for price/performance, this is it. The step-up program is also the best thing going I've seen from any of the card manufacturers. I traded up to a single 8800GTS from a dual 7800GTX SLI config and couldn't be happier.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Card!

Pros: Very fast. I get to play Crysis now. Which was free with the purchase of this card :) Call of Duty 4 looks so much better. Loading of games is faster and I am usually one of the first on the map. Also, now I am scoring in the top 3-5 players as before, I was usually middle to lower of the pack.

Cons: Huge. but I guess that is expected.

Other Thoughts: evga 790i, gskill 4gb ram 1600, seagate baracuda 500 gb sata,
hec Zephyr750 power supply. antec 900

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic, I love it!

Pros: Call of Duty 4 @ 1680x1050 full settings without problems. It has beef.

Cons: Runs hot if left to manage it's own fan speeds (sits at like 30% and 70C for temp). Bump that up manually in ntune to about 70% when playing a game and core temps stay around 40C which is much better.

Other Thoughts: Install was a snap and stock heatsink and fan can keep it cool if given some manual love.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: amazing card for the price. I'm running CoD4 on all highest settings at about 100FPS.

Cons: It runs a little hot; about 70C, but that's nothing too serious. Oh, and I'm not sure if it's my case's fault, or the card's, but it doesn't line up with the screw holes on the case, so it's kinda just hanging on by the PCI slot.

Other Thoughts: Don't get this card expecting to run Crysis on very high settings... but it runs it on all High settings at around 30FPS, so that's not too bad.

5 out of 5 eggsPrice for Performance Can't Be Beat

Pros: Has G92 GPU just like 8800GT which gives the GTX and Ultra some serious competition and a dramatically reduced cost.
Came with Crysis which saved me $50 right there.
Plays Crysis at almost all high at 1280x1024 with 30-60fps.
Performance that'll keep this card a leading choice for most games over the next 1yr+ probably.

Cons: Fan isn't as loud as everyone makes it out to be, but it's not whisper quiet either. Doesn't bug me at all when any other noise is in the room. But when the room is quiet, I certainly hear it.
Double width kind of annoys me, but it's a reference design, so it's not like anything weird is going on.
Super long card that has it's power connector almost rubbing up against my SATA connectors on my HDs in my Lian-Li PC-7A.

Other Thoughts: Running with a Asus P5W DH Deluxe (PCIe 1.1). C2D E6400 2.13GHz. 4GB GeIL. X-Fi Gamer. 600W Xion.
Upgraded from a 7950GT.
