NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together to provide best-in-class performance. The 9800GX2 is the solution for all your most demanding graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the latest system.

The 9800 supports Quad SLI to seriously crank your performance options by using up to four graphics cards to for insane flow rates. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.1 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD are built in to render even the most intense environmental effects or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity. The card's core clock runs at 600MHz relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 256 stream processors which are fed by 1GB of 512-bit 2000MHz GDDR3 memory.

Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, or output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with solid performance. If your motherboard can take it, the 9800GX2 can dish it out.

2 out of 5 eggsA little late but...

Pros: Nice looking card and, at the time, was top of the line that could run just about anything.

Cons: Burned out after 6 months. Card would overheat due to low fan speeds and sub par ventilation. Never got to RMA because it would have been too much trouble so I ended up buy a cheap replacement until I was able to afford a new high end card.

Other Thoughts: I bought this around 2008 and forgot to do a review. Like i mentioned, it was a good card but the poor heat management killed the card in its prime.

1 out of 5 eggsSuper Fast Before It Crashes

Pros: Card was unbelievably fast when operating.

Cons: Dealt with crashes ever 15 min- 2 hours with this card in every application that involved heavy graphics. I admitt I should have tried to get the card replaced but dealt with the headache to keep my business computer operational.

Other Thoughts: EVGA products have rocked for me in the past and I continue to buy them but this was one that caused me so much headache that I am ashamed to admitt that I put up with this card for so long.

2 out of 5 eggsOne of the fastest cards to break

Pros: Its great when it works. games that are coming out even today work at reasonable frame rates.

Cons: The card is known for burning out quick. there are lots of overheating issues as well. I have had 2 of them. the first burnt out in a year, and the RMA replacement burnt out 6 months later in the same manner. EVGA support was terrible, arrogant and unwilling to help. It is like pulling teeth. They hid behind red tape on the second card i went through, even though it should have a lifetime warranty.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: FAST. This card is absolutely amazing. This thing benches easily up against GTX 280s in fps tests.

Cons: Sadly, this product appears to have been discontinued. Probably has something to do with nVidia planning to release the 9900 GX2.

Other Thoughts: I really wish this product hadn't been discontinued so soon, I really wanted to get a second one and test out Quad SLI against my friends with two or three 280s (and twice the price each).

5 out of 5 eggsSick!

Pros: This card is so powerful for the price, it would easily smoke a GTX 260, and if overclocked enough could probably catch up to a GTX 280, and its $200 dollars cheaper!?! you gotta be crazy not to buy this.

Other Thoughts: I overclocked the card from 600mhz core to 700mhz core with the shader linked and the ram clock to 1100(2200) without any noticable temperature change and no problems at all. It could be cause of my amazing case (Antec P180B) but who knows...

5 out of 5 eggsMid-range price

Pros: Upgraded from a 3870 512 GDDR4; I really didn't need an upgrade but when this dropped in price I couldn't resist. And so far I couldn't be happier. This card performs outstandingly, my major game of choice is Far Cry 2 and in that it consistently gets 35-40 fps.
As well I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that I didn't have the cards set up to use both GPUs. Once I did that the frame rates went into the mid 40s-50s.

Cons: Run warm to hot...this seems normal for all nvidia cards, though, and doesn't hurt performance much.

5 out of 5 eggsYou CANNOT get a better nvidia card

Pros: Runs crysis maxed out with no problems! can be overclocked to 728mhz with out overheating(fan must be cranked up)

If you check the nvidia site this card actually out performs the GX280.... you just cant run this card in 3way sli

Cons: Runs Hot... but on the good side, makes good hand warmer

Other Thoughts: Cant wait to get money to run QUAD sli, when i do i can probably stop paying for oil to heat my house

5 out of 5 eggsNEW DRIVERS!!!

Pros: Well i own a BFG version but they dont sell them right now. I have to say though, the 9800gx2 is now the new king of nvidia, with the release of driver 180.~ It makes the 9800gx2 about 7% faster than the gtx280. It also can keep up with the 4870x2 in all but crysis at max. Actually its like only 2%slower over 10 tests against the radeon beast. Best bang for the buck BY FAR!!

Other Thoughts: The new Nov.19 drivers make the 9800gx2 38% faster than it was,and i mean it jumped to 1st place in nvidia cards. I play farcry2 and i was getting 14fps @ 8xaa ultrahigh dx10 @ 16x12 and now im in the 40 framerate area! I jumped almost 70fps in cod5 at max! 78 to 143!
Toms Hardware article----- 10 game tests both AA/noAA
1.4870x2 (4783.4) avg 48fps $500+
2.9800Gx2 (4616.1) avg 46fps $250+
3.GTX280 (4367.3) avg 44fps $440+
4.GTX260 (3967.0) avg 40fps $250+
You decide the best bang for the buck! thanx newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Runs great and it's not hot enough to cook on. Haven't had a single complaint so far.

Cons: It's huge but you already know that.

Other Thoughts: Vista 64 Ultimate and a quad processor.
