NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together for best-in-class performance. The 9800GTX is a balanced solution for all your graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the most up-to-date system. The 9800 supports Quad SLI which more than doubles your performance by running up to four graphics cards for insane flow rates.
The card's core clock runs at 675MHz relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 128 stream processors which are fed by 512MB of 256-bit 2200MHz GDDR3 memory. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.0 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD render even the most intense environmental effects, heavy shading, multiple light sources, or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.
Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, or output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with solid performance at a price that'll still leave money in your pocket.

Amazing card
- Pros: Really good card for 300$ price range + step up program 90day upgrade.
Stays very cool, it consumes less power and overclocks great. Got mine watercooled at 840/2101 core and 1240/2480 memory. Plays all current games maxed out except crysis. Crysis runs on all high quality and 2aa (1680x1050) remember you can only achieve playable fps at that setting only when overclocked cannot achieve at stock speed.
- Cons: Not a "big jump" from 8xxx series.
Really long card! (make sure u have space in your case)
- Other Thoughts: All in all very good card but no reason to upgrade if you already own 8800gts g92 or 8800gtx/ultra.
I actually have the card!!
- Pros: Awesome video card. Coming from a 7900GTX I saw 50 to 100% increase in all benchmarks.
Games are just plain awesome
- Cons: None... Card should be called 8900GTX...
- Other Thoughts: The over clocking ability of this card is pretty awesome.
The 8800GTS and the card are virtually the same. Two small differences are 5Mhz on core and .8ns ram vs 1ns on the 8800GTS. Lets remind everyone, stock 675, 2200 memory... I was able to get to 755 and 2400 memory without really trying . E6850 oced to 3.5Ghz. 3dmark 2003, 41,786, 3dmark 2005, 20,286. 3D mark 2006 13,309. as if this card was designed to be overclocked. keeps asking for more... Truly a great value at a reasonable cost...Finally Nvidia got it right...

decent card
- Pros: runs fallout 3 max settings with ease, can run crysis on high (not ultra high) with minimual lag. can handle just about everything else i throw at it.
- Cons: problems overclocking seems to be a driver issue but i installed drivers multiple times. Should've spent the extra 40$ for the ati 5770 considering stress test rated 9800gtx @3000 and 5770@92,000....do the math lol
- Other Thoughts: next time .... i wont be cheap....but stable card and if you want to runs latest games on high settings...look @nVidia gts250 or ati 5760 a little more dough to go a long way
Excellent performance
- Pros: Great performance/price ratio. HDCP. had this card for about 10months and no issues whatsoever.
- Cons: NONE
- Other Thoughts: im able to run most games and apps and MAX video settings. Reliable. Does what i need it to do.
- Pros: Great card for the price, I bought it as an upgrade for two 9600GSO's (768mb DDR2 each) in SLI. It out preforms them in all benchmarks and games by itself, works even better with one of the 9600's as Physx.
It is amazing the performance increase you get going from DDR2 to GDDR3.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised when I revived a 9800GTX+ rather than a 9800GTX as listed.
- Cons: Not really a con but the card is listed as a 9800GTX though it is actually a 9800GTX+, I didn't even realize it until I had installed it and looked at the specs with GPU-Z even though it came in a 9800gtx+ box.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this to be my future physx card as I'm waiting for the GTX300 to released. This is a perfect card for physx as it is efficient, quite, cool, and is not overkill for calculating physx (anything better and you will reach diminishing returns) like lets say a 260GTX would be.
Just remember, it is a 9800GTX+ (55nm, faster core clocks) not a 9800GTX, this mean it runs cooler, on less power, and performs better. Though it can still be put in SLI with a normal 9800GTX as long as you match the clock speeds. It is the best physx card you can buy IMO.
This is a list of games I have been runnning at 60fps 1920x1080 with all settings maxed.
Mass Effect 1 & 2 CoD: Modern Warefare 1 &2Far Cry 2 Bioshock Prototype WoW NFS:Shift
These are just a few games I have tested, I have only had the card a couple of days and I'm sure it will run many other games just as well. I just haven't gotten around to playing them all.
BTW, Crysis runs @~30fps with most setting to enthusiast 0
