NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together for best-in-class performance. The 9800GTX is a balanced solution for all your graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the most up-to-date system. The 9800 supports Quad SLI which more than doubles your performance by running up to four graphics cards for insane flow rates.
The card's core clock runs at 675MHz relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 128 stream processors which are fed by 512MB of 256-bit 2200MHz GDDR3 memory. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.0 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD render even the most intense environmental effects, heavy shading, multiple light sources, or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.
Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, or output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with solid performance at a price that'll still leave money in your pocket.

Since I actually own this card!!!!
- Pros: Runs KOOL! This is a great benefit that one must have to OC this card. Price is reasonable and gets great graphics on the games that I have thus far tried (crysis, coh, and wic). Replaced a 8800GTX. Runs @ 18-20c, cooler than the 8800GTX. When price drops a bit will probably tri-sLI. I still feel that this so far seems to be a better card with great drivers as new as they might be. This is a card that is perfectly priced for its performance unlike its predecessors.
- Cons: NO HDMI. Wish nVidia would get their heads out of their ?@!, and get back to the future. Run this with a 28" LCD @ 1920X1200 w/ 2 hdmi. Thankfully my monitor came with an adapter. EVGA doesn't provide this by the way.
- Other Thoughts: BIG!!! Same length as 8800GTX but end of heatsink/fan casing is slightly thicker. Be prepared to move some cables. For all the ATI fanboys and just plain idiots who ask questions about the product in a review, take your bull*&!# somewhere else. This doesn't help anyone. Go to nvidia forums and spam them with your questions.
Great Update
- Pros: This card is great for the new PC builder or Upgrading from anything lower then the 8800gts Everyone who says its the same as the 8800gts there wrong It Scales in SLI much better Overclocks ALOT MORE is Alot cooler uses less power then a 8800ultra this is a good card till the new gt200 come out this card all so beats the 9800gx2 in some benchmarks
- Cons: Sould of had 1gb of memory
- Other Thoughts: I thought this card had a HDMI port guess not
Good for a new Build or a upgrade from anything below a 8800gts

Good but older card
- Pros: This card came out a little over a year ago. This predated the GTS200 line and is now refered to as the GTS 250 from Nvidia. It is an excellent card for what it is. Runs cool, overclocks very well, and is very stable. The EVGA offer of this card is very good, and it uses a heatpipe covered cooler to vent the hot air out of your case. Using this card with the latest Nvidia drivers will run any program at 1400x900 resolution without an issue. It also handles PhysX pretty well as a single card setup.
Would be an excellent SLI candidate.
- Cons: Like all modern Performance cards it takes up 2 slots and is long, please measure appropriately.
- Other Thoughts: I am running this card on a P45 setup Asus board. I have been able to overclock it to 802 MHZ, 1985 Mhz DRAW, 1280 Mhz Ram (2560 Mem speed). I leave the fan around 65% and maintain temps less than 58'C at load (crysis, borderlands, X3TC, DA:O, BioShock, CoH) with a Min FPS of 28 during the most stressful frames and Max FPS of 178 during least stressful frames.
Again this is technically last years Performance Card, now considered budget gamer. The GTS 250 is modelled after this card, and there is little difference between them (although I believe the GTX 9800+ is a little better and overclocks better :P )
this card screams
- Pros: Runs every game I own at max settings (or close to max settings for online play.) OC tuning software is simple and effective.
- Cons: Will eventually become obsolete with DX11 out, but that wont be for awhile.
- Other Thoughts: Great card, great price, thank Newegg.com!
Great card, MIR not honored
- Pros: Good card buy a company I trust for a reasonable price.
- Cons: EVGA refused to honor the Mail in Rebate due to an invalid purchase date that is simply not true.
- Other Thoughts: I know better than to factor MIR's into the true price since most companies find a way out them. But it's getting worse when even EVGA can't be trusted.
