NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together to provide best-in-class performance. The 9800GX2 is the solution for all your most demanding graphic needs. It is Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the latest system. The 9800 supports Quad SLI to seriously ramp your performance with four graphics cards for insane flow rates.

The card's core clock runs at 650MHz, relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 256 stream processors which are fed by 1GB of 512-bit 2050MHz GDDR3 memory. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.1 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD are also built in to render even the most intense environmental effects or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.

Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, or it can be output via the HDMI port. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with solid performance. If your motherboard can take it, the 9800GX2 can dish it out.

5 out of 5 eggs4 years and still going strong

5 out of 5 eggsThese things are hot!

Pros: I bought two of these for quad SLI and they can run every game I throw at it! The eVGA precision control is a neat tool to help with oc'ing and fan control, definitely get that.

Cons: They run really hot. I have the fan speed up to 100% and I need to add two more case fans in order to get the hot air out of my case.

Other Thoughts: System: Lian Li V2100BPlus, Intel Q9450, 2x eVGA 9088 GX2, Zalman 9700, eVGA 790i Ultra SLI, 4GB OCZ DDR3 Reaper, Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w ATX, 2x WD 640GB HDD's.

5 out of 5 eggsOh yeah!

Pros: I found this card better then the 280 That ended up in my 2nd pc. I use a 46" samsung LCD TV with this at 1080p full blast res (1920 by 1080). I went through alot of cards looking for one that had no compatability problems with the HDTV via HDMI. This card is the only one that did not produce graphic problems invloving shaders and such. As for performance with a little overclocking GPU 680 - linked - shader 1060 I am running crysis at 1920x1080 on high settings nice and fast.

Cons: Cost, though its not as bad as it once was.

Other Thoughts: Had to upgrade my PSU due the the new conector for 2.0. Also if you plan to overclock the card make sure to set the fan speed up. Yes it will be noisy but rather it have some sound then have it get cooked.
3d Mark vantage score: 9800 GX2 = 11982 , 280 = 11054 , 260 = 10388 ,,,,,, CPU = q 9450 overclocked to 3.2 400fsb. 4x gig ddr3 at 1600. Vista 64.

4 out of 5 eggsGood choice

Pros: in my case, it overclocks really well. some people achieve rediculous clocking :). and with the release of EVGA precision, overclocking and adjusting fan speed are very easy.

Cons: if you're planning to run quad-sli, prepare to put some extra fans in, especially side-panel fan. the price will drop. quad-sli requires driver-maturity before users can take advantage of its full potential.

Other Thoughts: buy this now and you'll be just in time to step up to 9900 series cards. And water-block is now available. (evga that is)
