Excellent card for the money.
- Pros: Inexpensive, easily OC'd (within reason), Played most of my games at 1920x1200. (Most intense was Batman Arkham Asylum at 1920x1200 Hi-mid settings 38fps average, 50 at highest, 25 at lowest. Lowest intense was Cabal Online 1920x1200 at max settings 55fps average, 80 at highest, 40 at lowest) Easy install, PhysX and drivers updated for Windows 7, runs quiet and cool at about 45c - 50c and that's with it being OC'd.
- Cons: Fraps and this card don't go well together if you are recording at such a high res as I was. It only stayed at 20-25 fps while recording. (I'm sure if I was recording at half setting and not full or not playing at 1920x1200 it would have been around the 30fps Fraps is set for)
- Other Thoughts: Unlike others, I haven't had the fan issue with this card after almost a year. On my other NVidia's I have though. This card is easily OC'd with Riva tuner or EVGA Precision (stay within reason though) I'm upgrading to a 9800gt in my main system, and will either keep this card as a spare or build another computer around it for less gaming and use it as a media center. Either way it's a great card for the price.
EVGA 9500GT
- Pros: Nice video card to take loads from cpu, rate 373 on passmark, and work nice under 375w psu
- Cons: The little fan on the video card stoped working after 6 month, I have even applied some machine oil in it. Still not working. That is the main reason it only gets 3/5
- Other Thoughts: I get a solution for this case, I took out the broken fan, and wired a 80mm case fan on it. Runs much cooler and quieter
Great Card for the Price
- Pros: Great budget card.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I've used three of these in customers builds and have had no problems with them. Only one of those customers is a gamer however he has been very happy with the performance for the price.
