5 out of 5 eggsDead now but good while it lasted

Pros: It was cheap since it was refurb.

Worked well when it was working both single and SLI mode.

Could handle what I asked it to at the time.

EVGA has amazing customer support.

Cons: Runs hot especially with two of them running.

Other Thoughts: The card lasted me a good 3 years or so before it died on me. I thought this was great considering it was a refurbish card which was scary at first but the price was too hard to say no.

5 out of 5 eggsSnag this one before someone else does

Pros: Awesome overclockability. My highest stable GPU clock is 807Mhz. Not much on the VRAM though. Very good fan - keeps temps under control with help from Evga Precision utility (or Riva Tuner).

Cons: eh?

Other Thoughts: At this price, it's in competition with the HD4830. Even recertified, I'd prefer it over an HD4830. Great pickup for a budget gamer. Sharp-looking card. I paid $114 about two months ago.

5 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: purchased this fro Newegg last December.
now this card is about 70% off the price it was a year ago.
gets 15,000 plus score on 3DMark06 with my e8400 overclocked to 4.00 Ghz (1776 FSB)
play my fav game CoH at max settings with 50-60 FPS on 22" Acer monitor
a little room to overclock the factory GPU settings
EVGA quality
for $100 and a few pennies, can't go wrong here

Cons: runs on the warm side, idles at 58 C room temp, 75 C with full load in a full sized atx tower
fan is certainly noticeable at 70% and up with Ntune

Other Thoughts: considering the new "250" series cards that outperforms this card that will be available in the $120's by next month, this card should pe price in the low $90's

5 out of 5 eggsNot very happy with the egg on this order

Pros: This card is a great card, I was ordering a second one to put into my old 6400+BE build that already has a BFG. I paid $300 for BFG about a year ago and couldn't be happier with this 8800GTS card.

Cons: none except for I was very pleased to see this offered has a recertified Item for sale at around $122 bucks with shipping. I ordered it, got the charge on my card, conformation and awaited my new 8800gts to install into my old rig for SLI setup. Card got here in record time, I believe 2 days.

Opened her up, and low and behold it turns out that it was a 8800GT not the 8800GTS 512mb (G92) that I ordered and what i was charged for, the 8800GTS.
Very dissapointed!

Other Thoughts: I understand that mistakes get made, However I feel cheated. I spoke with a lady at the egg, and the only offer made to me was free shipping back to them and $20 dollars on my next order and free shipping. I can understand if an Item goes out of stock or sold out, but to charge my card, confirm the order then ship me out a lower end card to replace the 8800GTS 512mb(G92). That really is not something I expected from the egg. Was going to order a Vision Tech 4870, but I might just get charged for It and sent a 4850 instead. I am just very dissapointed with the end result of this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for money

Pros: This card is great for the money your getting an excellent deal. I bought this from a different site a few weeks ago for 150 and so far its a great deal. I'm about to pick up another for sli and thinking about buying this. Though weary about recertified it doesn't matter because evga has a good warranty system and would jump to replace it.

Cons: Can't run Crysis maxed out if you consider that a problem :P

Other Thoughts: I can get crysis on ultra high settings with a decent resolution and no anti aliasing though the frame rate does drop during large fire fights it still looks amazing. With another one of these for sli and a better processor ill have crysis maxed in no time lol

5 out of 5 eggsNot at All the Same!

Pros: For the Price it can't be beat!! Getting 2 of these for my new rig and putting them in sli which in many scenarios will beat a gtx 280 for 1/2 the price. I HIGHLY recommend this card. 9800 GTX performance at 8800/9800gt pricing, look at it that way.

Cons: Recertified, which to me means nothing of course because Nvidia, EVGA and Newegg would not recirculate anything of less than superb quality!

Other Thoughts: As contrary to other posts, this IS NOT the same card as the 8800gts640/320mb cards. Those are merely 8800gtx's cut down and bottlenecked to be cost efficient, this is the new generation and a different card completely. Those are G80, this G92, Which makes it pci-e 2.0, not 1.0. It has a higher clock speed (575/1800 vs 670/1940), it's smaller, cooler and more energy efficient plus a better cooler which makes it better for sli, if you're torn between this and a 320/640m version i strongly recommend you get this, it's not worth the slower extra 128megs. Trust me i have both.

4 out of 5 eggsGets The Job Done

Pros: I am working on becoming a professional animator, and when my polycount gets really high, this thing will still render it [with all the pretty textures and bump maps] with ease and quickly. it's not like one of those 400 dollar cards, but then again your not spending 400 dollars on this. It wont make your games look like your standing in the middle of an island with aliens, enemies and Jason Statham [*cough crysis *cough *cough] but it looks very pretty. you can overclock it to make it feel the power, but i got trigger happy and almost fried mine, so take care of yours.

Cons: None really, downloading drivers but that applies to every computer component that requires drivers.

Other Thoughts: As you read this remember i dont have this exact card, mine has 640 MB on it, but not that big of a difference. or at least i dont think. give it a go, it will serve you well. This was part of my first build and it made me VERY happy.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent, no wonder its out of stock.

Pros: Quite the performer, awesome price. Eats through games like they're not even there. F@H GPU2 performance is about
6000+ PPD for one card, which is amazing. I remember X1950XTXs used to get like 1000 PPD and use more power than this. Times have changed indeed.

Cons: Runs warm with the stock paste, too warm. On a F@H load (100% stress) I had to crank the fan all the way to 75% to keep it from passing 70C. This was definitely not acceptable. Took off the cooler, applied some Arctic Silver 5 using a straight-edge to make a thin layer, and put the cooler back on. At the same fan speeds and the same load, temperatures dropped 13C. At 75% it will sit at 57C on a folding load, major improvement. At 55% it will sit at around 63-64C now, and 55% is closer to silent and acceptable, 75% is getting loud.

Other Thoughts: Overclocked the card to 750/1760/2100, kept the fan at 55%, and 100% F@H stress will put it up to a solid 68C now, performance improves to about 6600 PPD. This GPU is known to be able to go farther, but my PSU and cooling solution restrict any further overclocking. Not bad considering that it's the stock cooler with some Arctic Silver 5. Probably going to be replaced with an Arctic Cooling product soon.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Quiet, cool, and looks great!
