4 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: runs duel monitors ok.

Cons: power hungry, dont run at very high fps on games but that could be beacause i put it in an average computer so my review could be a little tainted...

Other Thoughts: if your looking for a card to run duel monitors on this is a good card. cant instal the drivers on win 7 beacause win 7 has its own drivers. which could also be another one of my problems with the performance handling of this card. i would recommend it to others

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible service

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Everything else. Ordered 1 of these and it showed up DOA and I had to pay to get it exchanged.

Second one shows up, also DOA (different reason). Neither Newegg nor EVGA would help unless I payed to ship it back.

Let me get this straight, you sell me a defective product and I have to pay MORE to get a working one? No thanks guys but I am done.

Other Thoughts: Do yourselves a favor a get a VC from a company with a better reputation, customer service and will stand behind their product.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It works well under Win7 from my experience, running two of these for triple monitor configuration with a 600W modular PSU, quad core 2.8Ghz, and 4gb ddr3 ram.

Cons: It wasn't free?

Other Thoughts: I think it's funny when people who have 'high tech knowlege' complain to Newegg about this card not working on a 250W power supply. Here's my tip of the day: If you're putting ANY video card into a machine with a motherboard, memory, processor, and hard drive, and you've got a 250W power supply: It's time to swap the power supply for something that can support a video card lol, and it's also time to adjust your 'Tech Knowledge' level back down to 3 or lower! Seriously? You're gonna cheap out on a power supply and then complain when it's cheap? There are 450W power supplies on this site for $25, that'll do it dude.. Don't give a product a bad review just because you didn't think about obvious specific technical requirements involved with using it, it's looks dumb and people won't find your review helpful..

1 out of 5 eggsThe WORST

Pros: Cheap, but at what cost? Wasted time!

Cons: Terrible "Performance Test" scores. My G31 integrated is WAY better. I thought this card was defective till I saw the same scores on Performane Test

Other Thoughts: I did use the current downloaded drivers. EVGA should recall and scrap these things, but people seem to like?

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

What performance test are you running? Can you send me some details? jacobf@evga.com

Thanks,
Jacob

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Card

Pros: Great for everyday computing. I'm using it in my computer for video presentations, works perfectly for easy stuff.

Cons: the drivers on the cd are terrible, when I tried to run dual screens the secondary would have three black and white scrolling copies of the primary.

Other Thoughts: great card..... if you download new drivers....

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what I needed it to do. Easy install - no problems at all. Have been running it now 24 hours/day for 6 months with no problem.
Fanless design.
Inexpensive.

Cons: None for what it is...

Other Thoughts: Does run warm (79c) idle but is stable. I figured it would run on the warm side, but I was looking for a fanless design for use in a quiet server type box. Works just fine for web surfing and videos etc. Won't even try to game with it - not what I bought it for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for watching TV

Pros: Using this in my (linux) Myth TV box. Excellent picture, just like watching live TV.

4 prong S-video for those older analog TVs.

Cons: Runs hot with passive heatsink.

Bought an 80mm heaksink / fan assembly for $4 (ebey hong-kong special) and replaced the original heatsink (used Artic Silver thermal compound). Temp dropped from 170 to 120 degrees.

Other Thoughts: There is no substantial difference between the 256mb and this 512mb model from my perspective.

Use the Envy program to get this working right with Linux.

1 out of 5 eggsFrustration

Pros: It was cheap

Cons: Power requirements are NOT 250 watts. Packaging clearly states 300 watt minimum. I purchased this for a sff case with a PSU of 250 watts. Guess what... it doesn't work, thanks for the misinformation Newegg!!

Other Thoughts: I would give this 0 stars, I can't even do a refund RMA as that option is locked out. Guess what customer service, you'll have an upset customer calling when you open up. What upsets me most is that I have had ZERO issues with my Newegg orders over the years. :-(
