Best Bang/Buck
- Pros: Let's just say it could run just about everything as almost good as my OC'd 8800gt, but for half the price.
- Cons: That decal on the cooler is a sticker, I'm afraid it might peel off.
No fan control. <-Forced me to knock off a egg.
- Other Thoughts: I tested this video card on Crysis, Fall Out 3, and WoW WoTLK. These are all at 1400x900w/ Athlon 64 x2 5000+ @2.8GHz, 3gb 533(slightly OC'd forgot how much)
I got decent fps on Crysis with all setting High and Max AA Decent fps on Fall Out 3 with Ultra High setting (but with shadows halved, this video card doesn't like shadows) ~25 fps in Dalaran, and 30+ fps questing in WoW (shadows halved, those new WoW shadows kill my fps)
These we're all at stock clocks, I didn't want to OC it because of the lack of fan control, but in my standard issue gateway micro atx case it didn't get above 60 degrees with load.
Nice.
- Pros: Simply put, look at the cooler! it's awesome for it :D
But it is kinda loud for that point and that brought it down a egg but it is not much unless you keep you're computer a couple millimeters from you're ear.
It has never hit over 40C under load for me on all of my games (One exception would be when i changed the fan speed from my normal 45 to minimum) Other then that it is only compared for this price the 4670. You know? that dull looking Single slot half the card HS from ATi that is so under powered it pulls enough power from the Pci-e slot? yeah that one. Still one of the best cards but if you can get a 8800/9800/48xx if you can handle the money.
- Cons: Semi-Loud but not to loud for me just lost one egg so not to bad.
Other then that i cannot find a reason to not buy this card unless you fine a 8800 for 60$! if so give me a link haha!
- Other Thoughts: E5200
9600GSO 2GB OCZ Vista upgrade RAM Gigabyte Board with one Pci-E slot (going to have to upgrade that soon for sli!) Arctic freezer pro 7 HSF W/ TX-2 CM690 with 8 FANS! Pc Power & Cooling 550W PSU
Some others are kinda generic and do not have names but overall a good build for under 550$!
Nice budget gaming card
- Pros: Very good price for the performance. Runs almost everything at a decent level, and some things at a high level. As the previous writer said, it can be easily overclocked... although I wouldn't go to 700+ like he has. : )
It runs Devil May Cry at full 1680 x 1050 res a perfect frame rates. The difference between 384 and 768 may not be noticeable until you go up to higher resolutions. It actually out performs the 9600GT in some respects, as it has more stream processors, but less ram.
- Cons: Large card, but that helps with cooling so no complaints there. You need a large casing. A little loud.
