5 out of 5 eggsKudos to NewEggs Customer Service

Pros: Very Fast and Capable card. Replaced my year old eVGA 8800GTS/648MB card with this one. Phenom 9950 at 2.9 Ghz on Asus CrossHair II Mobo with 8 GBs of OCZ Reaper 1066 DDR2, Zalman 9800 Copper Heat Sink, 2 TB Samsung HHDs in Raid 0 Array, and 2 Seagate 500GB HHDs, PC Power & Cooling 1000 Watt PS, Cooler Master Stacker Case. & ViewSonic VX2835wm 28" Monitor. Now I can max out the settings in Lord of the Rings OnLine and come close to that in Crysis for the 1st time!

Cons: Thought I was getting a free copy of Far Cry 2 with card as that was what the product description stated at the time I ordered the card early on January 2, 2009, but when it arrived .... no game included. NewEgg has since changed their web page to reflect this. I contacted eVGA as suggested by NewEgg Customer Service even though I feel it is NewEggs legal responsibility to make this right by providing me with a free copy of the game that was supposed to be bundled with the card at the time I purchased it. eVGA has taken the same position ..... they have no control over how retailers advertise or offer their (eVGA's) products on the retailers web sites.

Other Thoughts: Much to my surprise and pleasure it appears that NewEgg has made it right and is sending me a free copy of Far Cry 2 from their inventory! Good for you NewEgg for doing the right thing!

5 out of 5 eggs- F A S T -

Pros: * This card is Fast. Compared to my eVGA 8800GTX this is a HUGE improvement.
* Low Heat. I bought an HR-03GTX VGA cooler because my 8800GTX ran hot and feared the same here. Not the case. It runs cool. High as i've seen it was 63C on max load. WOW. My 8800GTX was 70C with a 120mm fan on an HR-03 Cooler.
* Runs great with my A8N32 SLi board & FX-60. I know.. old components.. but I can run crysis on Enthusiast at 1680x1050 with full res & AA with a steady 35-40 fps and NO Overclocking. Now thats saying a lot.

Cons: ** Not really a con, but the odd thing is my 8800GTX on 1680x1050 res running all 3dMark06 Prof tests scored 9800. With this card it only scored 10200.

However, I no longer trust 3dMark06 BECAUSE I noticed all my games jumped in frame rates even though I cranked up AA & AF. (Which I didnt to much before)

Other Thoughts: Buy this card. If your running a 21" monitor like me.. this will do just fine at anything you through at it.

However, if you have a 24" monitor or more I'd say get the new GTX295's.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality card

Pros: Excellent video quality , fast , stable at speeds much higher than factory overclock.

Cons: Did not come with FARCRY 2 as shown . Working with Newegg to resolve.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a very dependable MSI 9800GT that was struggling with some of the newer games even with a 700mhz overclock. The picture quality of the F T W is amazing. I thought I would never again see vivid colors that used to be a trademark of the higher end ATI offerings in an Nvidia card and was pleased to see I was wrong. I'm not sure if the rumors of higher quality capacitors and secret bios tweaks are true for the F T W's but I am currently running this with 705 core , 1477 shader , 2406 memory & 70% fan speeds. Temps range from 46 Idle to 55 in game in a ancient Antec Lanboy case. ( If you have one plan to loose 2 or 3 H.D. cages and a few Dremmel bits ). All in all very pleased with purchase. Evga's step up program is a big plus if I decide to upgrade to the GTX295 within the next few months. Newegg customer for 7 years now and still satisfied with their excellent service.

5 out of 5 eggsawsome

Pros: this is a very good card, its almost at fast as the 280 for less price, plays crysis on very high settings with no problem. comes with program to adjust fan speed and core clock, memory speed, the program also serves as a temp moniter.

Cons: none so far, the size i guess but that should be expected with this size of graphics card.

Other Thoughts: my system is quad core at 2.66 with 1333 fsb, 4 gbs ocz ram, asus P5Q SE Plus, and of couse 260 for the win edition.

5 out of 5 eggsCUDA!!!

Pros: 240 Cores. That is all that needs to be said. Download Cuda SDK and have 240 threads to write fierce code. Only a newb would use this for video.

Cons: I do not have the Tesla (or 4 of them)

Other Thoughts: If you know how to program in c, and you understand threads, do not buy this for video, buy it for coding. The Cuda SDK easily "manages" the threads for you. Imagine data mining, floating point analysis, nth order ordinary differential equations, etc done quickly. If you call yourself an expert (which every IT tech positing on this site seems to do), then stop playing video games and start coding complex source. Use this card as a poor mans Tesla.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Card

Pros: This card is great, its highly overclockable on top of its already high speeds, For The Win editons usually are higher beinned cards, which can be pushed further than the (Stock core 216 & the super clocked editions).... I decided to mess with it a little, i cranked the core clock to 710mhz, and moved the shader clock to 1255, I also over clocked my E6850 to 3.33ghz, and I got 13827 in 3dmark06 on air cooling. Not bad!!! Runns Extremely smooth... No Burps or Hickups... I had the fan speed cracked to 85% on the GPU just to be safe, it didnt go over 49C when running 3dmark06... at 55% fan which i usually have it set to, it does 36/37C idl, under load it gets 40~47C... Runns nice and cool.... HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!! Might get another and runn sli...

5 out of 5 eggs#$@!#!@# IT'S FAST!

Pros: Very quiet fan. Quieter than the fan on my evga 7600 GT card! Did I mention that this thing is FAST??!!!?? Works great with my older A8N32-SLI s939 board.

Cons: Not exactly cheap (but comes with the territory). Length of card can be a small issue.

Other Thoughts: Installed this on an Asus A8N32-SLI (Socket 939) board. Works great! One issue I had with the length of the card isn't the card's fault, rather the placement of the SATA ports on the MB (card overlaps the ports). If you have this board, look into getting right-angle SATA cables and all will be well.

System specs:

Asus A8N32-SLI (1405 BIOS)
Opteron 185 (OC'ed to 2.8Ghz)
4GB RAM
eVGA GTX260 F T W
Dual Samsung 19" monitors
Antec NeoPower 550 PSU
WinXP Sp3
WD Raptor HD's

I haven't tried out the includeFarCry2, but I tried the card with two games I play a lot of: TF2 and Left4Dead. I play at 1280x1024; and with everything turned up to max the framerates are simply insane. With my older 7600GT, I could barely muster 1024x768 with the details turned to med/low. Left4Dead looks and plays like an entirely different game now too. With this card I can actually see the ash falling from the sky. :) If you have the cash, this card is worth every penny. Very glad I bought it

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the Best

Pros: This card does everything you want it to you and more and with it being so close in performance to the 280 but 200$ less, it is a no brainer. Just make sure your PSU can handle it.

Cons: None so far
