5 out of 5 eggsNo extras - update

Pros: Great card. Set up with connectors I borrowed from a friend. (see cons)
Cheap but works great! I can run my games with some high settings now and get "dang" decent framerate.
Would be pretty amazing with 3-way-SLI, but I don't think I'll do that just yet.

EVGA was happy to send me the connectors I needed. (See cons and other thoughts)

Cons: Didn't come with any extras; no documentation or any sort of cables came with it. Just the card in a white box, as I stated in my previous review.

Other Thoughts: EVGA has great and friendly customer support who seems to actually know their product. There was no hastle at all getting them to send me the proper cables I need. Just waiting for them to arrive now.

I'll be sticking with EVGA for my GPU purchases from now on, and I'll give them favour when buying motherboards or anything else they may make.

Note for EVGA: Make cheaper Intel i7 ready 3-way-SLI motherboards. D:

3 out of 5 eggsNo extras.

Pros: Amazing card from what I've heard. Amazing upgrade from my nVidia 7300LE. Haven't actually used it, but it seems to be in working condition.

Cons: No 4-to-6 pin PCI-E converters, and thus I cannot use the card yet.

Other Thoughts: Came in a plastic box with just the card. No documentation or any sort of extra at all, unless packing peanuts count.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Please contact us directly at 888-880-3842 so we can provide you with the PCIe converter.

Thanks,
Jacob

5 out of 5 eggsCrysis is a Pig!

Pros: Still a great price. Very cool looking. Plays all games with video knobs on 11......except Crysis! I just bought two of these to replace the 8600's I bought last summer in hopes that I could dial up everything to MAX. Crysis defaulted everything to HIGH with no ability to tweak settings higher.

Okay...I'm running an E8400 @ 3.0 ghz with 2 gigs of ram on a 680 MSI board. What gives? Is it the game itself? Or is it my other components?

Bottom line is that these cards are sure to drive all other games I've got, or will get for some time to come.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased a Rosewill 850 watt PSU to feed these cards. My 650 watter only had two 4-pin PCIe plugs, and with an adapter (I know...not a good idea) would'nt even boot. After installing the bigger PSU and hitting the GO button, 5 GFI circuits in my house tripped, the circuit my computer is on stayed live. I'm not an electrician, but this house is only 1 year old! Guess I'll have to get someone to install higher amperage GFIs???

Pros: good card think it will be fun in sli

Cons: sometimes the board doesn't recognize the card, and i have to restart the computer. When it picks up the card, its great. When it doesn't it drives me insane.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card

Pros: Can handle most game a high settings with virtually no lag at all,

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: im playing Fallout 3,CoD4,,and BioShock so far,and have not received any lag.Do not forget to install the latest GeForce drivers from the nVidia website(I forgot them at first so all my games would crash upon starting)

5 out of 5 eggsNow you're playing with power, nVidia power!!

Pros: Excellent bang for the buck on this recertified card! I can now run COD4, L4D, TF2, and CnC Red Alert 3 at max settings (minus Vertical Sync) with NO lag.

Cons: My computer is now a space heater with this beast in it. Card idles ~50C. No big deal so long as I have a window open or the AC running.

Other Thoughts: Previous card was an 8600GT. What a difference! Would do SLI, but this by itself will do me good for now.

My system specs:
- ASUS M2N-SLI mobo
- AMD Athlon64 x2 5000+ Black Edition @ 2.6GHz (OC'd to 3.0 GHz)
- 4GB OCZ PC6400 Platinum 800MHz DDR2 RAM
- (1) 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA disks
- (2) 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA disks in RAID 0
- Sony DVD/RW+ IDE drive
- Corsair CMPSU-750TX PSU
- Ultra 4 Channel Fan Controller
- Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit

4 out of 5 eggsNice Upgrade

Pros: Card Overclocks like a beast. Best bang for buck at this time. If your PSU does not have 6 pin molex; order 2 adapters for EACH CARD.

Cons: Ordered 2. One DOA. (RMA'd). SLI will have to wait. This card is HUGE. Interferes with my SATA cables on the mobo. (M2N32SLI Deluxe). New low profile cables ordered.

Other Thoughts: I probally would buy these new if I could have a redo. Not New Eggs fault as these are sealed boxes from EVGA's factory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: The re certified model is much cheaper, but runs perfect. Has been running crysis warhead at high settings on a 1280x1024 resolution at around 35-45 fps. It was very easy to install, and even though it doesnt come with the driver cd you can easily download them at nvidia's website. The fan is also fairly quiet, and it fit in my system.

Cons: Like others have said already, its a very long card. It had no problem fitting in my stock HP case because i don't have a ton of stuff installed in there, but i could see some people with multiple hard drives having a little trouble with the size. Even though it was expected that nothing but the card would come with it, i feel like i should mention that anyways. Its no big deal, just make sure you have two 6 pin power connectors. Also, when the card is fully stressed, the fan can be quite loud, but this is very rare. These are all minor cons, and none of them bring down my 5 star score of it.

Other Thoughts: I have been playing crysis warhead on high, and far cry 2 at ultra high settings. I think the re certified model is a great deal, get it unless you "have" to have the cd and the 6 pin power converter. It overclocks very nicely as well.
