Weren't kidding about the size!!
- Pros: This card definitely resolved all of my video problems. Before I'd get a message that simply stated "No Video Card Found.". Now no more message, and all my games run smoothly. Not sure how to rate these cards, as I've only just gotten back into the gaming, but it seems really fast.
Register within 30 days and get a free game as well, and the EVGA Trade Up programs is a great incentive should the technology get passed up suddenly.
- Cons: They really weren't kidding about the size. I had to cut into my drive by to make room for this thing. I can't even call it a card anymore...so from here on I'll just reference the silent 'entity' in my case.
- Other Thoughts: I'm thinking it's not running very hot because my case is really cool and the fans aren't pushing very hard. Been playing Dragon Age Origins and Oblivion and they are both really great. Haven't tried many of the FPS's out there yet, but from the reviews I don't I'll have a problem.
Great when it works
- Pros: Great card, runs well within temp specs, I replaced the stock TIM clay-like material with some quality TIM and reduced temps by a couple degrees. Renders all my games with decently high fps.
- Cons: Random BSOD's which I can simply only trace back to my video card along with random pixeling/artifacting no matter what the clock settings period. Display driver frequently crashes no matter what driver series is used. During boot-up sometimes my computer will restart up to 3-4 times flashing the start of a BSOD but never fully shows it so im not able to write down the error code. Also vista fails to detect it properly at times showing the classic windows theme and requiring a restart to alleviate the problem.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this EVGA card because i've had 1 other evga card that was a real quality product. I would still definitely buy another EVGA product.
