Broken card
- Pros: Possibly a good card? Shipped broken, so it's hard to say.
- Cons: With the DVI->VGA adapter, this brand new card had a pink tint over the entire screen. Then it went solid pink, and then stopped giving any display at all!
Tried the HDMI adapter, same deal. Went out and bought a brand new DVI cable, and it's still not working.
I had to throw in my old video card just to be sure, and yep, it works just fine.
- Other Thoughts: I called EVGA and they are replacing it, but I consider that BARE MINIMUM. Spent OVER AN HOUR on hold with their tech support.
I AM NOT PLEASED, EVGA.
Good card
- Pros: Running WoW, Dragon Age Origins, HAWX and CoD at 1920x1280 with everything maxed all at great frame rates. (60~110 depending on the game and how intense the action is).
Also supports HDCP, and since it comes with a DVI to HDMI adaptor, hooking up your computer to a HDTV is easy. Also supports audio through HDMI if you hook up your mobo's digital audio to the card.
- Cons: Runs a bit hot on auto fan, for some reason it's always running at 40% for me, so I manually adjust it to 55~70 when I'm playing a game to keep the core temp cool. But the draw back is that it gets loud when set to anything past 40% fan speed.
- Other Thoughts: Core i7 920
12 GB DDR3 Triple-Channel PC12800 (2GB x 6) Vista Ultimate 64bit
I'm waiting for the rebate to go back to $30 then I'll test out a SLI configuration.
Very Stable and Solid Performance
- Pros: Been running this card for over 6 months. No issues at all. I play COD online at a resolution of 1920x1280 with all settings on, and get a steady 91-fps during game play. From what i have heard, this is very good. Also, design graphics and edit video in various Adobe programs, while everything rendering with no problems. Cant imagine shelling out lots more cash for the GTX285 or alike, when this card handles everything now.
- Cons: It runs hot, but when i think of it before gaming i take the fan control for it off auto and crank it up to 60+ just to be safer. No issues yet though. I think the Nvidia control utility could be tweeked in programming to accomodate the "auto" tempature better. Besides that it ROCKS !!!
- Other Thoughts: Case a 922HAF CoolerMaster
