3 out of 5 eggsNot sold on NVIDIA

Pros: I have been an ATI fan for years, but I wanted to go with nvidia this time. Improved frame rates over my ATI HD2600 Pro which was expected. Nice that it uses a single 6-pin plug for power.

Cons: I should have done more research on the artifact issues. I immediately got them upon installing the card. White and/or pink squares coming from a video card were hugely disappointing. I have done what the forums and manufacturer site suggests and used the 2 4-pin molex to the 6-pin adapter. It seems to be working although it still occasionally throws the artifacts.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to run my games with the graphics fully maxed out. Aside from the now known flaws it works, but next card is going to be ATI again.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty decent.

Pros: Great graphics, very smooth, extremely fast for the price. Overall, a very good card.

Cons: Make sure you have enough room in your case. I had to cut out 2 brackets on the back of mine so it would fit. Then to top it off, I had to cut off the end brackets on the card because they wouldn't let it fit into the pci slot. Then, even better, the card is so thick, that it's covering my last pci slot. lol?

Other Thoughts: Good card, VERY BIG.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA Rocks

Pros: I've had this for some time now, never has an issue. EVGA desktop control is a big plus and with their support. Customer service response is the best I've found. Updated drivers are very current too. I'm buying a second one to match. No issue with the fit or cooling either.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Use the right board for this monster, I have ASUS P5N-D SLI NVIDA 750i not to cause conflicts since a chipset allows it's own make 100%. I use Vista 64bit with a Q9450 runnning 8gigs.

5 out of 5 eggsSOLID CARD !

Pros: Rock solid, quiet, adequate cooling, FAST FAST card, I love it, good price for the performance ratio

Cons: Power hungry, requires 2 6pins pci powers, HUGE card, had to relocate my hard drives just to accomodate the space, pretty much maxed out, gets unstable if o.c

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: AOE 3 +AD MAXED out with 70fps, 50fps during hard game play. Left 4 Dead MAXED out fps ranged from 50 to 30 depending on game play. Saints Row -different story. Settings were high enough to have good graphics and to also be able to play the game without lag.

This card allows EVGA Precision which I find useful for having more control over this beast.

Cools down very quickly.

Cons: It does get hot. In Left 4 Dead temp got to 140 degrees Fahrenheit with Auto setting in EVGA Precision; and that's only about 10 minutes of play time.

I keep the fan set at 60%, not too loud, but idles at 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Sure the faster the fan, the cooler the GPU,

Other Thoughts: Hats off to NEWEGG for their speedy delivery and quality packaging. Item on time just like they said it would be.

The VC is long like people have been stating. I actually had 2 inches to spare in my case after applying the VC. Thanks to my mobo's design, no SATA ports were covered and the VC fit like a charm. Due to the VC taking 2 slots, one of my PCI slots cannot be used.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy to have one.

Pros: Can't argue with the price for the power. Further more i'm glad it works with the lock tabs my case uses, so I don't have to worry about those annoying screws. Thermaltake Kandalf case.

Cons: I'm sure there are some, but I have not run across any for what I wanted to get it for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: If you are not willing to spend the dough on a 260 to 295 series card, this is the way to go. I actually have the SSC Edition with the core clock @ 792 and Memory clock @ 2300, which newegg doesn't stock anymore for some reason. I paired this thing with the AMD X2 5600 @ 3.0GHz, ASUS M2N SLI board, 2 GIG Mushkin DDR2 800 Redline, 610W PC power and cooling PS and i could not be happier. It runs every thing i throw at it easily, even Crysis @ full settings. NO need to overclock this card, it already runs great. This card runs very cool for me after i bumped the fan speed up to 80 percent, idle @ 39C, full load @ 45C, buy one or two of these, you wont be disappointed

Cons: I want to order another one, also be sure your case has enough room for one of these

Other Thoughts: System Specs
-AMD Athlon X2 5600 @ 3.0GHz
-2 gig Mushkin DDR2 800 redline
-610W PC Power and Cooling PS
-ASUS M2N SLI board
-1 150G WD Velociraptor 10,000RPM
-EVGA 9800 GTX SSC Edition

4 out of 5 eggsSpecifications has an error

Pros: Wicked performance, great reference specifications, EVGA has a great reputation making this buy a no-brainer

Cons: Specifications say 2x6-pin connectors; it has 1 6-pin connector. Furthermore, you will need to make sure you have 24A power on your +12V power lanes (total all your +12V lanes to get your total power availability).

Other Thoughts: This error in the specifications caused me great headaches trying to seperate the question: Do I need the specified amperage on that single lane, or combined total on my +12V system. The answer that I got from EVGA is that the +12V system is what is loaded, therefore if you have 4x18A +12V lanes, then you have 72A power. I didn't need to be worried about having 22A on a single +12V lane. This is hard to find online... had me wondering for a while

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great card when paired with a quad. good upgrade from an 8800gts 640. uses one pci-e power, performs well at 22" resolutions. best for playing crysis at 1680x150 at high settings get very playable fps. does decent at veryhigh wouldnt go over that res for it tho.

Cons: only 256-bit memory bus and 512mb of ram. something with a 384-bit bus and 768mb of ram would be nice. and say 160 streamies and this would be a reasonable card for the 9 series but.. hell its still an awesome card as is.

Other Thoughts: q6600@3.0, EVGA 9800GTX+, EVGA 650i Ultra, 750w corsair PSU, 4Gb 667Ram, WD 320gb 7,200rpm HDD, Antec1200case.
