5 out of 5 eggsThis guy does it all!

Pros: Fast, handles everything I throw at it (Crysis, World at War, Gears of War, Fallout 3) maxxed on a 19" monitor, not a hiccup one. Just picked a 24" monitor so I can push things harder. Put this guy in a Core i7 920, EVGA X58 Classified mobo (NF200), 6GB Dominator mem. It screams (literally)! Also, the stability issues that require you to underclock the card that the previous reviewer had mentioned don't apply to this card. It's the new 2GB model that is having that issue, from what I've seen at EVGA's forums. If you get this card, you can rest assured it's solid (and comes with a lifetime warranty, just don't forget to register with EVGA).

Cons: Well... it screams! It's not that bad, and I never notice it when I'm occupied with all the pretty colors it puts out. But it definitely has a noticeable whine if your paying attention.
Also a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Great card. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Have yet to overclock anything in my system as it handles EVERYTHING (even multiple everythings) without sweating it. Perhaps in a year I'll put an OC on things, but it's totally unnecessary at this point.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent professional support

Pros: good technical support and professional response from EVGA. Called the number person when I couldn't figure out the HDMI sound was not outputting to the TV. professional response. Issue turned out to be between the computer and the keyboard but person still willing to listen to all the rant and mumbles and offer good advise

Cons: None found so far, just make sure you have a mid tower, little too big for smaller cases

Other Thoughts: happy to own the card, and know that there is support, on the contrary I called the MB support on the same issue that the spdif sound does not work because I can't hear sound out of the HDMI, they just plainly blame it on the card is not good, not even attempted to trouble shoot anything.... at one point even blame it on the memroy sticks caused this issue. W T F is what I said ... try call Asus support on P6T6 WS sound driver issue. or maybe it was me who got the left over of the bad tech support.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Stable in Base Configuration

Pros: Good graphics

Cons: It'll be unstable in its base configuration. If you don't believe me, google "Nvidia GTX 285 crash".

In order to fix it, you have to underclock it underneath what it was originally released at. I'm not sure if its the memory clock or the core clock that is going unstable, but I lowered them both to 617 and 1150 respectively and haven't had a problem.

This card also gets amazingly hot during use. Probably won't have a good lifetime.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints

Pros: THis has been a very easy card to install and get going. I did discover you can use the 3-way SLI peice so I could use the correct ports on my mother board and I have no complaints

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs every game I've thrown at it on max settings.

Fallout 3 is probably the most demanding I've tried on "ultra" at 1920x1200, and even in situations with lots of explosions, bullets, rockets, and so on, the framerates stayed nice and smooth. And I'm only running one of these in my rig.

Cons: None.

Well, it's big, but mine's in a full tower (Cooler Master HAF 932) so that wasn't an issue.

Other Thoughts: There's a 2gb version out now - probably worth considering for a longer-lasting card.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast card. Lots of Ram. Thank goodness for EVGA precision so that you can adjust the fan speed. This thing runs super hot.

Cons: Runs very hot! Everyone states they have max settings on certain games however that means jack depending on the video res. Running at 2560x1600 this thing goes up to 85c. Fan speed must be either 80% or higher to maintain it around 80c. Fans are kind of loud over 60% speed.

Other Thoughts: Running two of these at the moment seem to have random crashes related to the video cards while running Warcraft.

2 out of 5 eggsgreat while it works

Pros: This Video Card is amazing WHILE it works, I had mine running everything beautifully for 2 months, then into the 3rd month i started having problems

Cons: now ive had to replace it because it seemingly has went bad for no reason and EVGA has been far less then helpful with support in trouble shooting the matter

Other Thoughts: I gave it a 2 because it was good while it lasted but not even 3 months without a problem this is BY FAR the shortest life of a video card ive had.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Please contact us directly at 888-880-3842 so we can correct it, if for whatever reason you are not satisfied with the response, contact me directly at jacobf@evga.com

Thanks,
Jacob

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing graphics

Pros: Produces absolutely stunning graphics. Made a ton of my games seem brand new. Super easy SLI compatibility.

Cons: Overall size and weight could be issues for some users. These cards are huge. Two of them barely allow room for a sound card on an 790i Ultra motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Easy installation. Used on Initial install of a vista-64 custom rig with no issues.

5 out of 5 eggsHow the eggs work

Pros: I haven't bought one yet, but after reading all 17 pages of reviews, I most likely will. I am convinced.

Cons: The reason I am writing this review is because I want to explain to some people how the egg ratings are supposed to work. I read all 17 pages of reviews and it seems the majority of the complaints (and hence loss of 1 or more eggs) is because of the size of the card. People say they had to cut their HD cage with tin snips and such, and then knocked an egg or two. Please people, understand it is not the card's fault you didn't buy a big enough case. You should know ahead of time the card is large. Prepare a little better and quit taking eggs off for your own ignorance!

Other Thoughts: You are supposed to lower the rating when you have problems with the way the card functions, not the way it fits into your shoe box size freeking case. Don't buy the thing if you don't have enough space. It's that simple. All you have to do is read the 17 pages of reviews to find out the card is "freekin huge." And if that's not enough to help you plan ahead for a large video card, you could also use a thing called common sense and look at the pictures on the website. It's quite obvious the card is "freekin huge." STILL, if that's not enough to convince you, read the specs on the manufacturer's website. There is ZERO excuse for complaining about the size of the video card. And more so, there is ZERO excuse for taking off an egg because of it. Learn about it.
