5 out of 5 eggsGreat hardware

Pros: Excellent thermal management: throttles back heat dissipation when junction temp is on an unsafe trend. Furmark 1.8.2 ran it at 1920x1200 and temp rose to 93C. Fans were all on full speed. Card froze screen for less than a second, temp dropped, then it stayed very steady at 90C for more than a minute, the screen update still going very smoothly. I think it adjusted either the clock frequency or skipped some clock cycles to ensure junction temp stays in a safe range.

Cons: Latter products from EVGA no longer has lifetime warranty. But at least this card has it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Had for over 2 years now, still runs great and quiet when not pushing graphics. still runs most games at high-very high graphics smoothly.

Great for gaming in winter - see cons

Cons: when running top games(graphically speaking) this card gets hot. hasn't been a problem but i build my cases to have great ventilation.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat display card

Pros: Bought it in May, 2009. My first high-end display card. Fast. Excellent graphic quality.

Cons: One of the caps went bad and stop working after 3 years. EVGA refused to repair it because I forgot register the product.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product!

Pros: Great pixel image and color. The amount of clarity and variation in every picture or video game is phenomenal.

Cons: Haven't found any yet

Other Thoughts: Great for PC Gamers or Console Gamers that just prefer using Monitors instead of TV's.

Also great for Movies or TV shows

1 out of 5 eggsUsed and Abused

Pros: Solid GTX285 card

Cons: Was sent two Revision 1 cards that are almost 2 years old from the RMA warehouse. I need the Rev 2 cards to match my water cooling setup.

Still waiting to hear back from Newegg if they will exchange for the new hardware that I paid for, and not the recycled rev 1 cards. This would not be a problem normally, however I need the Rev 2 cards to match the water blocks that I already have.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: This is an amazing card, far better then my XFX 9800GX2. It is kinda big, but not any bigger then the rest of the modern video cards, just need a decent sized mid or full tower. I use a HAF 922 and there's plenty of room in there. Great support from EVGA, EVGA Precision allowed me to easily overclock the card to 723/1646/1359. And the Evga forums are great if you ever need any help or have any questions what so ever. Would recommend this card to anyone, just tears through games at high setting. Will definitely pick up a 2nd one for SLI when they drop in price a bit.

Cons: Not any problems with the card, though how Newegg has decided to pack my recent orders was rather upsetting. They've been placing all the packages in the bottom of the box first and then pouring packing peanuts on top. So pretty much all there was between the card getting damage from UPS's horrendous shipping methods (which state that all packages are subject to a 6 ft. drop) was a thin layer of cardboard and EVGA's own packing. Been like this with all my of recent orders. Rather upset because they never use to be this bad. You've got to protect ALL sides of a package in the shipping box!

Other Thoughts: Hopefully this series will keeping produced when Fermi comes out and their price will then go down, because right now its a seller's market and that really sucks because I really want a second one, but I'm not willing to shell out nearly 400 again, so hopefully these will drop down to the 200 range when Fermi comes out and more become available.

4 out of 5 eggs2nd Time is the charm

Pros: The scecond card I got has been good, so far.

Cons: The first card I got only lasted about 2hrs and then went south. Luckly, it lasted long enough to install the os and some other programs.

Other Thoughts: Even though I had to RMA the first card, and wait for the second one to come , which took a week, I'm happy with the outcome. I called EVGA even talked to a live person, one that I could understand. I did'nt have to wait an hour on the phone for one to answer. EVGA told me seeing how I just got the card to RMA at NewEgg. NewEgg did it's thing as always. Thanks NewEgg And EVGA.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price

Pros: Fast card, plenty of RAM for all your needs, works wonderfully on Win 7.

Cons: Super long, make sure your case can handle it. Little expensive, but a really great card for what you are paying.

Other Thoughts: I have this in a full tower, so no problems at all.

1 out of 5 eggseVGA lost a customer

Pros: card is fast and has an exhaust port in the back for heat escape

Cons: defective with common issue of black screen reboots

Other Thoughts: Being a long time customer of eVGA & BFG exclusively I was completely turned off of eVGA after having one of their cards die. Apparently this issue is rather common for this card but what really frustrates me is the racket eVGA is playing with RMA's.

With BFG (and just about every other manufacturer I have dealt with personally and under my business) will charge your credit card with an authorization for an advanced replacement for the amount of the replacement, once you ship the unit back they refund it. They pay for the shipping out to you and sometimes on the shipping back. With eVGA you have to "pay" for this luxury ($30 - $50 depending on how fast you want it sent).

I can pay $30 and wait a week for a replacement, or I can pay $50 and have it tomorrow. They claim they cover return shipping too and that is why they charge for it, return shipping for FedEX is like $5. What a way to screw over your customers.

Never had this scam with BFG.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,
EVGA does offer Advanced Replacement as an option at the time of product registration. I apologize for the issues you are experiencing with your product. Please email me at nickm@evga.com should you need any assistance in the replacement of the product. Thank you,

Nick
