5 out of 5 eggsLove you long time

Pros: Great performance in SLI
Were not too expensive
Ran cool

Cons: starting to die after around ~5 years (too much to ask?)

Other Thoughts: I've had two of these cards in SLI for about 3 years and I got them to be able to run MW2 because my previous card did not have " Vertex Shader 3.0". The cards ran CoD4 and MW2 at full settings in 1440x900 resolution. Unfortunately, they are starting to die. The drivers have been very unstable and they have crashed. However, this could be a problem with the PCI slot.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the Price

Pros: This card is excellent, runs almost everything except a few of the newer games at 50+ FPS. The only newer games it has a problem with is Crysis, and WIC. I had an 8600 GTS up and die on me just before a year was up, and RMA"d it in less then a week. Shipper accidently broke the card in shipping, after another RMA they sent me a brand new 8600 GTS.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Definately a loyal customer now. For the price this card is Amazing. Was thinking about just SLI'ing them but havent decided yet. If i do Upgrade im sticking with EVGA/nVidia.

4 out of 5 eggsActually

Pros: card gets about 63c to 67c for me. definitely upgraded directx to 10.0 and got nvidia drivers off nvidia's web site

Cons: heat. ( crank up the fan speed on ntune if you have it)

Other Thoughts: actually am running about 20amps on the rail. card runs fine.

5 out of 5 eggsCorrection to my review

Pros: Below

Cons: Below

Other Thoughts: Download the version 182.50 drivers from the nvidia site's driver archives. And make sure your power supply has atleast 26amps on the 12v rail. If you have much less than this than your drivers are going to be crashing a lot.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card bad drivers

Pros: Excellent card can handle a lot. got crysis on med/high settings with no AA. with around 25-40 fps and 18-25 fps during ingame cutscenes. DiRT is a no brainer for this card easy all high with 2x AA i can prob push it further, but i dont feel comfortable pushing my card too far.

Cons: Unstable drivers. Drivers tend to become unresponsive for at random times in the game (sometimes at demanding parts of the game) many people have these problems and theres only a handful of drivers that are said to be stable. Haven't installed them yet because they're pretty old (like 2007 old).

Runs hot
Idle- around 75C
Load- seems to stay the same but goes up to around 80C

Other Thoughts: After getting numerous problems upgrading my rig with a new mobo, RAM, CPU, and a graphics card I got really impatient really quick once i started having problems with the drivers. I'll contact EVGA support and see what i come up with.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

EVGA frequently releases new drivers on our website, please try the latest 190.38 drivers at www.evga.com/support

Thanks,
Jacob

5 out of 5 eggsEVGAMAZING

Pros: This card is fassssst. that memory overclock is wayyy awesome :D plus the core clock beats most video cards even the new cards.

Cons: Gets really hot. wish it had better stock cooling. no prob for the xclio a380 though.

Other Thoughts: I'm running on of these right now.. cant wait to get a bigger psu and run these in SLI .. and for the price i paid you cant beat it!

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Ive had this thing for over two years and hasn't had a thing go wrong with it yet. It was a great video card back in the day and still plays newer games at near max settings with no lag at all. I really need to Upgrade but this thing has been a trooper.

Cons: Like others state it does get a little hot. Make sure you have some sort of direct cooling (I.E fan or liquid). Stock fan just isn't enough.

Other Thoughts: Stock fan isn't any louder then when i bought the thing. EVGA all the way.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap
Direct x10
Overclockable, you cant really ask for a better card for the price. I can watch movies in high quality on a 32" lcd. oh, and sli.

Cons: HOT, and it was a pain to install for me (my mistake)

Other Thoughts: Really great card, stop reading this and buy it. when you buy it, register it to evga.

2 out of 5 eggsWell...

Pros: -Inexpensive
-Great if you only plan to use Vista's Aero Interface

Cons: -OVERHEATS LIKE HELL
-Not for gaming at ALL!
-Only 32 Stream processors

Other Thoughts: I bought this card thinking I would get at least 30fps in COD4 (1680/1050 2xAA 12xAF) L4D (1680/1050 0xAA 0xAF) and WIC (1680/1050, low graphic settings + 0xAA 0xAF).

I got disappointed since every time a single piece of mother nature (trees, grass, flowers, bushes, etc) appears, the FPS drops from 30-40 to 5-20. It then overheats to 80°C or more, forcing me to minimize the game so it can cool down, even having an Antec Nine Hundred with all fans installed at medium (high sounds very loud). When I try using nTune to raise the GPU's fan speed, it automatically slows down after a few seconds.
I have a Q9550, XFX 750i, 2x1G Patriot PC2-6400, none of these overclocked (yet) and a 600W PSU, so I don't think my system is the problem here.

EVGA is an awesome graphic card manufacturer with their lifetime warranties and great customer support, but I would skip this one and invest more in one of their other cards (I'm planning on getting their GTX 260 216SP)

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

80c is well within the thermal specifications of the GPU. The GPU is designed to operate in temperatures excess of 100c.

Thanks,
Jacob
