Re-review of EVGA 512-P3-N975-TR
- Pros: Card was working extremely well, destroying any game I threw at it with perfect performance
- Cons: After about three weeks card began to artifact all over the place. HD video, Steam games, non-Steam games. Everything became un-playable after the first 30 seconds.
- Other Thoughts: STILL waiting on the RMA from EVGA. I love EVGA as a brand, but their service is lacking. I recommend staying away from this model 9800GT and going with their 512-P3-N973-TR model instead

EVGA 9800GT review
- Pros: Amazing card. Great upgrade from older PNY 9500GT. 512MB of DDR3 is perfect for higher-end gaming, such as pumped-up L4D or trying your hardest to max out FPS on CS:S. EVGA Precision tool allows for easy overclocking to push the performance above and beyond anything I've ever seen before. EVGA's site calls for a power supply with a +12v PCI-e connection capable of 26 amps, but there's no need for that amount of power. I'm currently using a Rosewill Green Series 630W PSU with 20 amps on the 12v rail, and I have had no problems whatsoever.
- Cons: From what I have noticed, there is nothing wrong with this card at all. Customizable over-clocking and fan speed make this for a perfect card for any gamer out there.
- Other Thoughts: Just be sure to have the most up-to-date drivers from EVGA or NVidia before you attempt to over-clock. Oh, and don't try to make chocolate pudding with this card, either. I've tried that and the end result tasted horrible...
awesome card
- Pros: i can play any game with this card, just not at the highest settings or highest resolutions. but crysis is playable at 1440 x 900 at all high setting. it works awesome in windows 7 64 bit with my E8400 cpu and
4gb of RAM.
now the temps as i type this the temperature on the card is 41c its only 60 F out side and im not using the heater so the ambient temp is low which is helping with that.
idle temps case - 30c CPU - 26c GPU - 41c
under load case - 35c CPU - 40c GPU - 78c
- Cons: i didn't buy my card on new egg so i payed to much for it.
learn from my mistake.
- Other Thoughts: its an awesome card, i would think a double slot card would stay cooler and reach higher clock speeds.
that's something to consider
