4 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: Great card for the price
best performance per dollar I've seen
OCs like a boss

Cons: After a year and 4 months it finally died, VRAM went.
I could have RMAd it but I had it overclocked and I doubt they'd replace it.

Other Thoughts: Great low end SLI card, outdated now but still works.

3 out of 5 eggsEVGA Geforce 9800 GT

Pros: This has been a great card for the year and 2 months I've owned it. Made every game I've played look amazing!

Cons: Its only been a little over a year and this card is starting to have severe overheating problems. I tried updating the drivers, removing the refresh time so that I wouldn't get BOSDs and such, but it still dies on me within a 15 minute window of not doing anything. Before it was every hour or so when I was playing games but now I can't even watch DVDs without it crashing every 15.

Other Thoughts: Trying to go through the RMA process right now, but seen as how its the weekend I have to wait. This will be updated.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA 512-P3-N975-TR

Pros: This thing is a beast! Runs Crysis at full tilt minus max res.
Faster than the 8800gs and its a single bay card for 1/3 of price. runs everything else at full tilt.

Cons: None except keep it dust free. Collects dust easily and will over heat

Other Thoughts: If you want a sweet card but can't spend $200+ this card is still a beast even today. Runs COD-MW2 at full tilt

3 out of 5 eggsRe-review of EVGA 512-P3-N975-TR

Pros: Card was working extremely well, destroying any game I threw at it with perfect performance

Cons: After about three weeks card began to artifact all over the place. HD video, Steam games, non-Steam games. Everything became un-playable after the first 30 seconds.

Other Thoughts: STILL waiting on the RMA from EVGA. I love EVGA as a brand, but their service is lacking. I recommend staying away from this model 9800GT and going with their 512-P3-N973-TR model instead

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Im sorry to see you have experienced a failure with your card. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you further. The rma process should be rather quick, and if you feel it is taking longer than normal please feel free to contact us at (888) 880-3842 and we will look into any potential delays that you may be experiencing.

Thank you
Shannon

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA 9800GT review

Pros: Amazing card. Great upgrade from older PNY 9500GT. 512MB of DDR3 is perfect for higher-end gaming, such as pumped-up L4D or trying your hardest to max out FPS on CS:S. EVGA Precision tool allows for easy overclocking to push the performance above and beyond anything I've ever seen before. EVGA's site calls for a power supply with a +12v PCI-e connection capable of 26 amps, but there's no need for that amount of power. I'm currently using a Rosewill Green Series 630W PSU with 20 amps on the 12v rail, and I have had no problems whatsoever.

Cons: From what I have noticed, there is nothing wrong with this card at all. Customizable over-clocking and fan speed make this for a perfect card for any gamer out there.

Other Thoughts: Just be sure to have the most up-to-date drivers from EVGA or NVidia before you attempt to over-clock. Oh, and don't try to make chocolate pudding with this card, either. I've tried that and the end result tasted horrible...

5 out of 5 eggsawesome card

Pros: i can play any game with this card, just not at the highest settings or highest resolutions. but crysis is playable at 1440 x 900 at all high setting. it works awesome in windows 7 64 bit with my E8400 cpu and
4gb of RAM.

now the temps
as i type this the temperature on the card is 41c
its only 60 F out side and im not using the heater so the ambient temp is low which is helping with that.

idle temps
case - 30c
CPU - 26c
GPU - 41c

under load
case - 35c
CPU - 40c
GPU - 78c

Cons: i didn't buy my card on new egg so i payed to much for it.
learn from my mistake.

Other Thoughts: its an awesome card, i would think a double slot card would stay cooler and reach higher clock speeds.
that's something to consider

4 out of 5 eggsA hot card, in more ways then one.

Pros: This card is awesome, I bought one to SLI with my 8800GT and it does the trick wonderfully. (I had to BIOS flash my 8800GT to 9800GT, but they are the same core GPU.) Works great except has noted below.

Cons: This card does get hot. If you smoke, have pets, or have a dusty house, then this card will clog up, and the temps will hit 100c or higher.

Other Thoughts: I removed the cover plate to the heat sink and added a 2nd fan directly over the heat fins and now the card never goes over 80c.

2 out of 5 eggsProbably a good card, couldn't tell you.

Pros: Good value for what your getting.

Cons: It should be noted that Windows 7 support is poor. There are drivers out there but they don't work. I've only managed to get it to work in 1024x768 mode, any other will lock up with the "black screen of death". The support forums are filled with people having the same problem. So if you plan to run Windows 7, I suggest you find another brand of card.

Other Thoughts: Requires 18 amps from your power supply, so make sure you have the power first. They recommend a 350 watts supply.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,
Thank you for the review. We do have full Windows 7 support for the 9800GT product with the latest drivers from www.evga.com/support/drivers. If you are still having issues with the product with the latest drivers I would encourage you to contact our 24 hour tech support at 888-881-3842.

Thank you,

3 out of 5 eggsHAd it for 2 months then died

Pros: Worked nice for my EVE online game and some of my more graphics intensive games. Had no problem with it and enjoyed every second of the graphics card while it worked, interestingly enough i might get this again. But i want to have it for more then just 2 months.

Cons: had it for 2 months then the graphics got all distorted up and the cards display did not work right after that.

Other Thoughts: its a nice card but Evga makes cards that get REAL hot
