5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast
Reliable
Built well

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Had this card for close to two years now. Had such a positive experience I bought a second for a SLI setup. The fact that the SLI at nearly 100% efficiency is simply fantastic as it keeps you current for longer for less money.

Only slight negative I can think of is that the heat generated has made my card sag ever so slightly, but it really was inconsequential.

1 out of 5 eggsFirst Video Card, first disappointment

Pros: The card can run just about anything I've tried on it on max, and Skyrim on high.

Cons: It's been shutting on and off ever since installation.

I was going to return it, but it stopped doing it for three months back in August until it started doing it again in December.

Now it's doing it every day, this week it's done it more than 5 times. Shuts off like the power when out, but the other components of the computer still have power, and crashes the machine.

The power supply I got is fine, it's not the cause, because it still supplies power to everything else, and the card can turn on, it just shuts off whenever it wants.

Faulty Driver's isn't it either, I've flashed the card, and installed many drivers, none of them have permanently solved the problem.

Can't return it since it's been too long since I bought it, might as well trash it and get a 560Ti.

Other Thoughts: I really liked this card, it was the first video card I ever had and the experience of building a PC was great.

But it sourly disappointed me with it's constant failure and has caused me to lose online matches, even got banned for leaving two games in a row due to it crashing and needing a reboot.

At least my old laptop didn't crash on me when playing online, leaving my team with one player less.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

From your description it would seem like a problem with the card or power supply. Even if the power supply is still powering the rest of the machine it could still have an unstable 12V rail If possible I would test the card in another system to confirm it is the card causing the issue. If you can recreate the problem in another machine, or if this is not an option, please contact our 24/7 technical support (888)-881-3842 to setup an RMA.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT GPU, I played BF3 1080p ultra

Pros: Currently have the card OC'd to 830 MHz, I am currently running Battlefield 3 around 35-50 fps and have settings on ultra with x4 AA.

Cons: So far none.

Other Thoughts: Use the EVGA software that comes with it to set up when the fan kicks in and how hard at what temps. Really helps alot to do this.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's all good.

Pros: I know a lot of people were saying the fan is noisy on this card. But I don't notice it at all. It plays GTA4 and the expansions flawlessly and I only have a dual-core in my unit. upgraded from an MSI-9700gt to this so just about anything would be better.

Cons: No longer in stock.

And about the power supply requirements. I know EVGA is trying to not scare their customers. But it says the minimum is 400 watts and you must have 22amps on the 12+ rail. thats reading right off of the EVGA box. I have a box full of PSU's and 7 of them are 400watt and not a single one of them has that much amperage on the 12+ rail. I know it's picky but EVGA might want to say 550 watt PSU to be safe for their customers.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame that EVGA is moving away from the squrrel-box fan design of their video cards in favor of just a direct fan. I understand the fan design I have is louder. But from the heat distribution standpoint it's perfect. you can actually have a small PCI card like a wireless and it doesn't block the ventalation of this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsBrings Age of Conan to life!

Pros: Went from 28 fps with gimpy DX9 settings to "everything pegged to 11" with dx 10 (38-50 fps) Age of Conan is the only game I've played with it. Very happy -- and amazed at the graphics capabilties that the card can serve up. Never knew that the leaves in game were realistically translucent -- and were bug eaten. Other than getting a bigger (650 watt) power supply, I have changed nothing on my system. Very pleased.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Seems to be quieter than my CPU fan -- I can;t really hear it running. Warranty is great!

5 out of 5 eggsWon't break the wallet

Pros: Good price
3D
HDMI
Plays every game I have.
Good card on a budget

Cons: Mail in rebates suck I say ban them. Take the money off the price.
3D glasses aint cheap.
Not really a con but takes 2 6pin power cords (had to redo all the wires in my Antec to get the 2nd plug out)

Other Thoughts: I don't have the nvidia 3D glasses yet but with cheap-o red blue Metro 2033 looks good in 3D

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade without breaking the bank

Pros: Plays every game I have thrown at it + 3D looks good.
Won't break the bank.
HDMI out
NOT XFX

Cons: Not really a con but takes 2 6pin so I had to redo all the wires in my Antec case and that was a pain.
I really hate mail in rebates.

Other Thoughts: COD BO pulls around 50-75 FPS online
Metro 2033 looks great in 3D No lag
