5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is a work horse.

Pros: Still playing new games on HIGH (not always max but sometimes)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Just a funny note. If you get a RAIDMAX case with a crossbar that stabilizes and cools the GPU you wull have to do some modding to get it to fit any large cards like this one. So worth it though.

5 out of 5 eggssli on amd!

Pros: two gtx 460's in sli out perform the more powerful nvidia cards in the $400 range. accommodates the koolance and ek gtx 460 waterblocks!

Cons: stock cooler is pathetic. while waiting for my waterblock i popped this thing in for some sli goodness. the watercooled one has never seen 50c. the air cooled one came close to 70c without further oc while playing fallout 3.

Other Thoughts: thanks evga for keeping this a reference pcb.
this guy is now sporting an ek waterblock and i couldnt get either to 50c while gaming and oc'd to 800mhz.

4 out of 5 eggsThis card

Pros: Installed in a snap
Great factory overclocking settings
Comes with DVI-VGA and mini-HDMI-HDMI adapters
Has high reviews
Plays Crysis (the first one) at max settings (except resolution, which is bumped down to 1400x900)
Plays Halo 2 at max settings. I had to force VSYNC to kill the horizontal tearing...I was getting ~150 FPS in-game and 900 FPS at the main menu

Cons: When I zoom in with laser sights (in Crysis), the level geometry fades to black as if the character is closing his eyes or something is eclipsing the Sun/Moon. I don't know if this is the cards fault or some setting I have elsewhere, but I would surmise the fault is the card's, hence the egg deduction. This does not occur when I use iron sights.

Other Thoughts: Aside from the weird blackout in Crysis this card is amazing for a 460. I would go ahead and spend a few more bucks on a 500 series card, but to be honest, I have no experience with other video cards aside from the 9400M in my Mac (which sucks, by the way). This is nevertheless a great card.

5 out of 5 eggsGet this card

Pros: Price, performance, looks great, very useful and stable OC software included, sli performance is AMAZING

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I couldnt afford a 580, or even a 480 for that matter, but I wanted awesome graphics. I bought this instead and was fairly impressed with the ratio of price to performance. . .BUT THEN, I got a second one for sli a couple months later. Wow, HUGE performance gain. The absolute cheapest way to max out games and maintain good FPS. Here are some examples:

BFBC2 32xx HBAO on Maxed 75-95 avg min 50 max 150
Metro 2033 Maxed DX11 no AA 60-80 FPS with Max AA 40-60
BF3 Beta Operation Metro Everything Maxed 50-60 outside environments 70-80 inside

I believe the BF3 beta doesnt feature the ultra settings, it only does high. So in that case, high=maxed. Also, nothing in my computer is O/C

i7 2600k, 8ddr3 1600, ga-z68x-ud3h-b3

5 out of 5 eggsGreat in SLi

Pros: Great performance in SLi. Have yet to really run into any new games to pull it down in performance that hinders my enjoyment.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: Asus P8P67 Pro, Intel i7 2600k, 16gb 1866 DDR3 Gskill RAM, 2 EVGA Superclocked GTX 460's, DVDR and Blu-Ray/DVDRW Drive, 600gb WD Velociraptor.

4 out of 5 eggsNo issues yet

Pros: Inexpensive, not too bulky and decently quiet.
The badge for your case it comes with looks pretty cool

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Its a great card for the cost and, if the rest of your system is up too it, can every game I've played on the highest settings.

1 out of 5 eggsExternal Exhaust = bad

Pros: The card works, it works decently. No horribly bad issues with it. Just do not get the EE version.

Cons: The fan, the external exhaust fan. Great concept, I admit it, but horrible implementation. I updated the drivers and the card sounds like an air compressor and makes my desk vibrates, when under load (aka graphics intense video games).

Plus, EVGA would not fix it because technically there was nothing broken.

Take it from me, do NOT buy the EE GTX 460.

Other Thoughts: Do NOT get the EE (External Exhaust).

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

The temperature of a card can be affected by a number of variables such as ambient temperature, amount and size of your case fans, air flow including intake and exhaust placement, along with a number of other smaller factors. We also offer EE and non-EE cards to suit your specific case and preference. If you would like you can contact me directly, matth@evga.com so I can assist you further with this issue.

Matthew Hurwitz

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price

Pros: Everything. Can handle Direct X 10 and 11 very well. I run high settings on most of my games and it doesn't break a sweat. I like it. A lot.

Cons: none that i can think of

Other Thoughts: Make sure your power supply can handle this puppy. It comes with evga precision on the disc to help handle the fan speed. It is a very handy utility (set mine to auto start and changed some of the temp settings). You can't go wrong with this card.
