5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great to play all games on medium settings! For the most part. Don't expect to play higher end games (Splinter cell, Crysis, etc) on ultra/high settings because this graphics card can't handle it past medium. Destroys other games like League consistently though.

Cons: None considering it isn't that expensive for a low-mid GPU. If you're considering getting this, save up for a better one instead if you're planning on gaming on a daily basis.

4 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: This card has been going strong for 3 years now. It was a great value when i bought it in 2011.

Cons: Had to RMA the first card, 2nd one worked great.

Other Thoughts: Most the video cards i buy are EVGA and besides 1 or 2 that I had to RMA, there hasn't been any issues.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -it works and hasn't had any issues that weren't my fault for overlooking a step that may be needed in an upgrade.

-still going strong after 2 years

Cons: -can't think of any

Other Thoughts: When upgrading your graphics card, if you start getting a BSOD, upgrade your power supply!

I installed this in my brother's computer as a gift for him to replace the onboard graphics, and every couple days he would get a bsod, it took me almost a month to realize that the problem wasn't the ram or gpu or motherboard, it was an insufficient power supply! I think it was a 450 watt and I upgraded it to 650 watt or something. I don't quite remember because this was over 2 years ago.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works great, had no problems, im using a 350 watt PSU even though thay suggest 400watt. Will definitely purchase EVGA GFX card in future.

Cons: Not really a con just pay attention to size, its big did check size and almost didn't fit in my PC

Huge con:I did not get the case stickers/decals! They were missing!

4 out of 5 eggsOkay card

Pros: It was incredibly easy to install. Felt very sturdy, as do all EVGA cards. Works in both Windows 7 and Debian, which is why I went nVidia over ATI.

Cons: Not the best card for the money, you could probably get a much better AMD card for a little more money. I got this because I'm a Linux guy, and AMD drivers are notoriously bad for Linux.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good gaming performance for the price. works good in SLI.

Cons: after a few months I started getting green lines across the screen on startup, and when it booted into windows I could see nothing. i would have to keep turning the system on and off continuously and it would eventually start up fine. tested in 3 systems with the same results. in the process of getting it RMA'd

2 out of 5 eggsDead card

Pros: Great price, quiet card, good bang for the buck

Cons: The card died on me 2 days short of 1 month of ownership. Was playing a game and the screen went blank. After some troubleshooting I realized that the fan on the card would not turn. Had t o plug into the onboard video to get the computer functional again.

Other Thoughts: If the card hadn't died on me so quickly, it would have been a 5-egg card.

Now that the card is discontinued from Newegg, I'm not sure what the best solution is.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize your fan is no longer functioning on the card. Please contact our 24/7 technical support (888)-881-3842 so we can assist you with a replacement of the model.

5 out of 5 eggsAfter 1 Year and Battlefield 3 later...

Pros: Can MAX out Battlefield 3 with consistent 40fps and 70+fps in some areas, big maps (firestorm) don't make a difference.
Card has lasted over a year of hardcore gaming on SC2, CS 1.6, CS:Source, Team Fortress, DoD, Portal, Portal2.
Can max out Alien vs Predator.
I game on a 23inch HP2311x plugged into the HDMI port, this GTS450 just smokes.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I already did another review of this card around 12/25/2010 under the name bluetube, so read on about it. this was just an update. I can't believe all this whohaaa about you needing atleast a gtx560 to max out BF3, I DID IT WITH A GTS450 and not even overclocked over overvolted, just stock with fan at 70 in EVGA Precision, can't believe Nvidia would even say that, just to sell more cards Obviously. I have a GTX560TI also and it more than doubles the power of this GTS450, but with power consumption more than doubles also (gtx560ti specs = double the gts450 specs Exactly). "Verified Owner" should now have a green check on it so you know I really DO have this card.

PC Specs:
Asrock N68csucc mobo
AMD Phenom II 960t (unlocked 6core)
EVGA GTS450 FPB (installed) and an ASUS GTX560TI TOP (in the box)
G.Skill 1333 Sniper (2x4GB)
WD 320GB Caviar Blue
Silverstone 550 PSU
