2 out of 5 eggsRuns hot. Be ready.

Pros: Running them in SLI mode... Fast.

Cons: Did not have a problem until about 2 months later when I started seeing artifacts. Opened up the case and both stickers were off the cards... Installed speedfan to monitor the cards and one idles at 55C and the other idles at 33C.

Other Thoughts: From the reviews I am reading it seems that there is something fishy with these cards. my DF-85 has plenty of space and tons of fans. I am not planning on going through the hassle of RMA because I think the cards just run hotter than hell. I plan on removing the covers of both cards and adding some aftermarket fans or some sort of killer passive cooling.

3 out of 5 eggsStrange behavior

Pros: Quiet, not as large as GTX 260. Supposedly fast.

Cons: This card adjusts clock speeds up and down erratically (one moment it's 2000, the next it drops to 324... then back to 2000 again). None of the utilities have worked so far. Settings in EVGA Precision do not control the drop in clock speed. My old GTX 260 did not exhibit this sort of behavior.

For the record, I am running Windows XP with 260.99 ForceWare drivers. These drivers do not support the "power management mode" setting that is supposed to fix this problem (it is available under Vista and Windows 7, but not XP).

So, yeah. I can't give high marks to a product that behaves that way with no workarounds available. I shouldn't have to upgrade my OS to make a piece of hardware work properly.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Love this card's performance. Comes with already scorching clock speeds of 850 GPU / 1700 shader / 2000 memory. Overclocked to 900/1800/2200 with tiny voltage bump. Rock solid stable through all benchmarks. I DO think it is worth the extra cash to buy the Superclocked or F T W versions, as these are obviously "top shelf" cards to be able to run stable at these speeds. I have rarely seen a standard clocked GTX 460 be stable at these speeds with stock cooling. And the GTX 460 line is really at the sweet spot of the price / performance ratio at the moment.

Cons: Fan shroud rattles at times. Fan profile isn't to my liking. At low clock 2D state fan speed could be lower (currently at 30%, no reason it couldn't be at 20% or 15%). And in 3D games the fan does not ramp up speed quickly enough to keep temps down, and rarely goes over 50% even when core temps approach 70 deg. C. This can be corrected with software, but then you have to have a background app running 24/7.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Choice

Pros: Can handle all the games I throw at it without breaking a sweat. It idles at 29-32 Degrees Celsius!!! Runs at 50-60 degrees Celsius under load. Evga is a great manufacturer, they have good support and a large forum community. Newegg is selling these at a good price.

Cons: Just buy it!

Other Thoughts: none

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Shorter than the GTS 250 it replaced
Whisper quiet
Runs cool
Huge boost in performance

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I debated for a couple whether to get this or the AMD Radeon 6870. After seeing the benchmarks for this card vs the 6870, coupled with the AMD driver horror stories, I decided to on this card. I've always owned EVGA cards dating back to the 6800 and this card doesn't disappoint. I cant believe how quiet and cool this card runs despite the fact it is clocked so high. Now Im going to purchase a 27" monitor so I can finally enjoy gaming at 1900x1080. If you are on the fence about this card dont be!

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: The specs sounded great: Factory overclocked to 850 MHz(GPU) and 2 GHz (Memory). eVGA is a good company. New Egg rocks: fast shipping and easy RMA!

Cons: I will NEVER EVER AGAIN buy a factory overclocked card. This is the second time that I have made that mistake. The first time I messed up was buying a BFG 8800 GTX (major overheating that resulted in system shutdowns). This second time I made the same mistake was 10 days ago when I got a GTX 460 F T W. The mentioned card was pushed beyond its limits resulting in flashing polygons in all 3D games. I used MSI Afterburner to clock it down all the way to 700 MHz which sort of solved the problem but I would still get the artifacts at times even at that level.

The main point is that, even though my experience is an exception since not all GPUs are created equal (I got a bad one), pushing a chip beyond its rated speed to get a few extra frames per second is not worth the headache. You will never notice the speed and chances are that you will experience all sorts of side effects (overheating as was the case with my BFG 8800 GTX, shimmering and flashing polygons in the case of my GTX 460 BFG

Other Thoughts: I ended up getting a regular GTX 460 which runs happily at 720 MHz. The real world performance is pretty much identical to my previously owned GTX 460 F T W without the visual anomalies.

5 out of 5 eggsMIND BLOWING SPEED!

Pros: I replaced an eVGA 8600 GTS SuperClocked(which I loved dearly) with this card. At the time, the previous card was the good affordable choice that helped me enjoy 3 Call of Duty games and even Crysis, but came up short with my favorite game...NBA 2K.

I got my system up a running yesterday and ran NBA 2K11 at maxed out settings and this card handled it all with no problem!!!! My system went from running the game okay at 30fps and struggling to get to 50fps to running everything with no problem at a constant 60fps!!! I mean..i just imagined this card in case huffing on his fingernails, saying to himself "Meh.." LOL!!

WOW!! This card is AMAZING!! I can't wait for Call of Duty Black Ops, Crysis 2, and all future NBA 2K games!!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just waiting for 3D gaming to become more common so I can enjoy that feature as well.

3 out of 5 eggsDriver Issues

Pros: Very fast, good cooling, quiet. I bought this to replace an aging 8800 GTS 512mb.

Cons: I am having severe sound problems after installing the card. If I start a game and alt/tab or if I'm listening to music in the backgroun, or even using Teamspeak, there is a scratching/stuttering sound during loud noises. This effects the overall system and even causes massive drops in FPS. I've reinstalled the video drivers, uninstalled the HD drivers for the card, and reinstalled my audio drivers twice. I'm using an older Audigy 2 sound card.

Other Thoughts: I've read online that people are sometimes having issues with sound cards and the 460 GTX. I'm going to attempt to disable CUDA as well as the HD audio on the card to see if this solves the problem. I might even try and remove the sound card and use the onboard to see if it solves the problem. I would really hate to RMA this card, especially since I've had two other eVGA cards (7950 GT SC and the 8800 GTS 512mb) and they've worked flawlessly. I purposely didn't buy the radeon 6870 due to driver issues I've seen first hand with friends, but I never expected to encounter sound issues with this card.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None yet.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried out the card yet, will let you guys know about it once I do. I had to say this though. Order 2 of these 3 days before newegg put a sale on them. Called them up, and they credited me with the price difference (saved around $50). Newegg, you're awesome!
