3 out of 5 eggsGood Card Until....

Pros: Easy install, easy driver update, simple usage, and simple accesibility. In terms of use, was able to play WoW for 1 full year at Medium Settings (21FPS) with 4GB of Motherboard Memory. Did well when using just 1 monitor on the VGA port. However....

Cons: Decided to upgrade my motherboard memory from 4GB to 16GB to increase the FPS (shot up to 44FPS on High inworld, 12FPS on Ultra inworld. 25-30FPS on ultra in dungeon or raid). Also utilized the additional DVI port for a second monitor. Noticed a significant difference in the heat output from the card immediately (which was to be expected), as well a difference in sharpness of quality between monitor on VGA port vs. DVI.

Not too long (appx. 2-3 days) after install of new components, onboard fan started to make a very akward, irregular sound. Opened up case, listened and watched the fan for appx 2-3 min while off load and under load (test was running WoW on ultra vs. Just desktop w/ no programs open). Under load, fan speed was irregular and labored (simply put, it looked like it was trying to do a 20kilometer run after training for only a 3). Immediate reaction was shut off PC, spray and clean with compressed air, allow cooldown.

Appx. 1week after new component install, started to get random black screens (the card stopped video output) and a complete computer restart immediately following the black out. Labored fan spinning continued after incident.

Other Thoughts: It was a decent card for the price that lasted as long as it could considering the lack of challenge the card ever really faced. Once the new components were installed, it was evident it was not up to the challenge any more. Honestly, I felt bad for the card. Im now investing in a GIGABYTE GV-N560OC-1GI GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit, just hope not all the reviews on this new card are justified.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Product!

Pros: Works like a charm. By no means the best card out there, but for the price, its performance is really hard to beat!

Cons: None (so far)

Other Thoughts: I have absolutely no complaints about this product. Minecraft runs super well with this card!

4 out of 5 eggsIt worked for about 2 years

Pros: It was easy to install and the drivers were installed neatly and easily. It played pretty much anything I threw at it all be it some of the newer games it had to play at lower settings.

Cons: After about 2 years maybe a little less it stopped working on me while playing Lords of the Realm 2 a very old game any GPU could handle. I tried the heat gun repair method that has worked on other cards for me in the past but had no luck this time.

Other Thoughts: If you need a cheap low profile & low energy use card this is not a bad option. Keep in mind when reading my review all computer hard ware dies at some point it might be DOA or it might take a decade but it all dies eventually so don't take it as EVGA built a poor card or something.

5 out of 5 eggsUPDATE:Good While It Lasted

Pros: This is an update to my earlier review. Although I was out of warranty when the fan died due to me not registering within 30 days, EVGA was courteous enough to issue me a one time replacement :)

That says a lot about how much they care about their customers, and this gesture has made me a life time customer.

Cons: My fan died, but I was issued a replacement.

3 out of 5 eggsGood While It Lasted

Pros: Quiet, good all round HTPC card with medium spec gaming.

Cons: Fan died after 1 yr and 8 months - did not register within 30 days so I'm out of luck :(

Other Thoughts: Wish they would indicate that the 2year warranty only goes into effect if you register within 30 days. I missed that and now I can't RMA this device

Manufacturer Response:

I am sorry to hear your fan is no longer working. Please contact our 24/7 technical support so we can assist you with a replacement (88)-881-3842

2 out of 5 eggsI wish it worked

Pros: Looked pretty when it worked.

Cons: Failed out of the box. Entire screen goes blank when it crashes and computer no longer responds. I have to hold the power button in to manually shut it down. Called EVGA tech support and they were very helpful, verified my system met minimum standards, but couldnt solve the problem. Sent it back RMA.

Other Thoughts: I dont know what the problem was, but I went with a different manufacturer with the RMA refund.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: It is an amazing card, I bought it while it was on sale for 30-some, which made it even better, ive used it primarily for gaming in a 2-year old dell with low specs. It runs anything and everything i throw at it great. Civ 5/4, crysis 1&2, GTA4, Minecraft, all of these and more on high-highest settings with amazing framerate, i believe this "carries" the rest of my system on its back.

Cons: No cons so far, except no linux drives, but that was known before purchase

Other Thoughts: Great card, would buy again and recommend to any casual-hardcore gamer, hd movie watcher, or even casual computer users, great all around card

4 out of 5 eggsRevision #3...

Pros: Same as previous reviews. eVGA Precision X is working good now. (Again I have no idea why it was not working in the first place, the whole system, hardware and software, was fresh and new.) Clocked up to 820MHZ GPU / 800 Memory with no issues at all. GTA4 is getting a consistent 53+ FPS and is totally smooth. Actually looks and plays significantly better than PS3 version. A good video card overall.

Cons: A total mystery why it was not working well from the start...
A bit of a hassle to get to perform well, but nothing extreme.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent At What It Was Designed For!

Pros: Win 7 Experience Index rating went from 3.9 to 6.9. Handles 1080p with no problems on 37" HDTV. Cool and Quiet

Cons: None so far. Other user reported problems with thermal paste on heat sink. Inspected upon arrival with no surprises plenty of paste. Replaced anyways, just in case.

Other Thoughts: Not designed for gaming knew that going into it. I do not game on the machine this was purchased for. Just needed something to handle BluRay and streaming HD content online. This card is awesome at that and would recommend it to anyone needing an inexpensive card for HTPC.
