5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Was looking for something quiet and low power for my server. It satisfies both of these requirements nicely.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I currently have the card running in a 4x PCI Express slot, which it doesn't seem to mind.

4 out of 5 eggsGood PCIe replacement for general purpose use in an older PC.

Pros: The main reason for purchasing this card was that it was compatible with PCIe 1.0 in an Asus A8N-SLI board from 2006. In addition to that, it's passively cooled so I don't have to worry about a fan going out and making the card useless. For general purpose use, it works well. Tried to snipe something comparable from Chinese Californians on thEbay, but for the prices it was better to buy new from Newegg.

Cons: Very weak GPU, even by the standards of the day it was realeased (2008 I think?). When paired with an Athlon X2 3800+ and 2GB DDR2, 1080P video is a little jerky. 720P is good. May play better with a strong CPU to pick up the slack - but then what is the point of native hardware video decode?

Other Thoughts: Does what it needs to and EVGA has a good reputation. Mom doesn't watch Blu-Rays on her PC so decode is not too much of an issue.

1 out of 5 eggsFried in 72 hours.

Pros: Easy to install into the computer PCI slot. Had to change the face plate to low profile and move the VGA part below the card. I had room so no real issue their.

To a while to get the card to work with duel monitors. but it all was working great.

Cons: It did take a while to get this thing to work. Did not come with any software or drivers.

After 72 hours of 24 hour operations the card was fried. did not us it other than stream video and reading email on two monitors.

Other Thoughts: Come back to see about getting another *#*** but they area all sold out now. when with a different maker.

1 out of 5 eggsnot reliable

Pros: cheap, no fan to fail after several years.

Cons: I bought 2 for some low end systems.. 1 failed after 1 yr. I bought a 3rd as replacement. It failed within a month. I think the remaining one is also defective, but it's in a machine that runs headless...

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Easy

Pros: Easy, simple, plug n play on Windows 7. HDMI output and cheap.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Upgrade for a Dell XPS 400. Great card for someone with an older PC who isn't looking to play games. Fully capable of streaming playback at 1080p - Netflix, YouTube, etc. - or watching BluRays. I use my 47" Vizio as my computer screen, so this card was everything I could ask for. Made an immediate visual improvement for my aging tower.

2 out of 5 eggsNeeds a fan, a bigger heatsink, or both.

Pros: I recently installed this on my rapidly aging HTPC which wasn't cutting it with its original integrated geforce 6150se chip. Worked great for a few hours or so.

Cons: After a few hours the screen started to artifact and stutter, then died completely.

Other Thoughts: I like my HTPC quiet so I was attracted to the fanless design, but as other reviews have stated the sink appears way too small to disperse the heat without a significant amount of airflow. If you need a fan blowing on a sink in order for it properly operate, it's not really fanless is it?

Two stars because I feel responsible for the poor airflow in my case.

Manufacturer Response:

"Hello EVGA customer,
With any fanless design, case airflow is required and this card is designed to take full advantage of a normal level of ambient air movement from case fans. However, there may be other concerns here. What temperature did the card reach? Usually, if these cards are below the 85-90c area, they shouldn't experience any thermal issues.
You can contact our 24/7 customer support hotline at 1-888-881-3842 option 1, or by email at newegg@evga.com and we will be glad to assist in any way we can.
Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support"

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little card.

Pros: Used as part of a re-build. Worked out of the box, used to run Windows 8 and applications. Downloaded Nvidia drivers and installed without an issue. The card came with low-profile brackets that you can swap in, if you intend to use in a low-profile case.

Cons: None for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsSilence is golden

Pros: Fanless is, of course, the #1 plus to this basic card. But can it run Crysis? Who cares! I don't play games or run AutoCAD! I need something to display the Interwebz on my screen and do some OpenGL on Google Earth and accelerated viewing of content once in a while and this card does the trick.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: I have a beat up old Asus A8N-SLI board with PCIe 1.1 and this card works well with my board. I have been able to do a *stable* overclock of this card from its factory rates of 520 (GPU), 1238 (Shader) and 600 (RAM) to a 13% overclock of 588 (GPU), 1399 (Shader) and 678 (RAM) and this card not breaking a sweat at all. Runs fairly cool in my case which has *one* 120mm exhaust fan (COUGAR CF-V12HB) and a 60mm, low RPM pointing at my northbridge. In terms of bang for buck on an older system, you can't beat it.

4 out of 5 eggsgood value card

Pros: Inexpensive card with HDMI output. Sends both audio and video over HDMI.

Cons: Passively cooled card so you need to have good airflow in the case.

Other Thoughts: Bought this card for use in a media PC. It's nice because it's inexpensive and will send the audio over HDMI too so you don't have to have an additional audio output cable to your tuner (Not all HDMI video cards send audio). The card required 18amps on the 12volt line from the power supply. So, BEWARE when using this on a compact or older of compact PCs (we were re-purposing an older box and ended up swapping the power supply). The card is also passively cooled (no fan) so it's important to have good cooling in your case. This card can also be used in low profile cases but I'm not sure I'd do that without adjunct fans.

Over all, the card works fine for what we wanted it to do and is pretty inexpensive.
