5 out of 5 eggs550 Ti

Pros: Got this for $99. Absolute best card you could get for $100 or less. Was an upgrade from a Sapphire HD3870 for me.

Cons: None, really. Card is fairly large, but most cards are these days.

Other Thoughts: Part of a budget gaming build. Compared benchmarks found on Tom's Hardware and Passmark, the best value in a video card at $100 price point. At the time of this review, they were out of stock. Hope Newegg acquires more.

Pros: Great price, Brought my Windows Performance Score from a 4.3 to a 7.5 out of a possible 7.9.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Purchased with two high def monitors and the look amazing.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Smaller than some other cards.
Keeps cool on its own.
Good bang for the price.

Cons: Even though it is a great card for the price, it still lacks a bit in overall graphics.

5 out of 5 eggsSome good stuff

Pros: Better then what I had. Quiet. Does everything I want it to: HD video in full 1080p to high level gaming on pretty high settings.

Cons: Does get a little warm. Otherwise, none that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: A little big, but should fit nice in a Mid or Full Tower. Going to SLI with another of the same card.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price.

Pros: So many to think of, small form factor for smaller cases, powerful little chip, Can be clocked of the "999 mhz cap" using Galaxy's old HD tuner. I run mine at 1024 core with the shaders locked to the core speed, Runs PlanetSide 2 on max settings same goes with skyrim(unknown fps but no lag), Warcrack (100fps), audiosurf (130 fps), and the free duke nukem forever (90 ish fps)

Cons: when clocked to 1024 it idles @ 40C with the fan at 100%.

I think EVGA could have done a better job with the cooler and shroud to be quieter and cooler, a blower style fan would be very beneficial.

Another thing, the "precision tuner" won't let you over clock it past 999 mhz I had to do a bit of research and found that Galaxy's old "HD tuner extreme" can do it

I would like for it to have come with a mini HDMI to normal HDMI converter.

Other Thoughts: Great card for the price if you can get past the 999 mhz "soft cap"

4 out of 5 eggsSo Far Great

Pros: I just received this today so. . .
The video is great and handles everything I have tossed at it. Just love the Nvidia video. The drivers installed without a glitch as expected.
Games and HD video are smooth, no jerking or hesitation.
Arrived a day early.

Cons: None on the video card.

Other Thoughts: The packaging was the worst I have ever seen from Newegg and I am a long time customer. The card was in bubble wrap but the enter box had no packing material so the video card got slide all over inside the box, as much as 5 inches. The enter box was then setting on the bottom of the shipping box with no packing material under it. The rest of the shipping box was filled with packing material to keep it from moving around but did not protect the purchased device from jarring and shocks on the bottom of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice!

Pros: Runs quiet... I've thrown every game I can think of at this thing paired with my LCD TV and settings jacked. I'm still waiting for a problem! I received this as a warranty replacement for my old 8800 and it is like night and day! I was using a friends 250 until I got it and it even smokes that! I would advise to grab one of these lil gems before they are gone.. EVGA support is one of the BEST in the industry!

Cons: Refurb... But for that price? Who cares?!?! lol

Other Thoughts: If you can get the 2gig version on sale, DO IT!

3 out of 5 eggsGood video card, or would've been.

Pros: This video card is powerful and came at a great price. When it is working properly, I was getting 100+ FPS when playing WoW which is pretty sweet! Smooth and excellent graphics.

Cons: However, the one I received is defective. When playing games, the primary Nvidia driver will crash, recover and repeat again. This causes the screen to flicker, go black, see the desktop and then back to what you're doing.

I did clean driver installs, multiple versions, with and without 3D Display, etc. Once I knew it wasn't software related, I took the card out and inspected it. There were multiple indications of scoring, burn marks and other discolorations. I took a picture of the card with a HD camera and when I zoomed in, it was even more apparent.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to RMA this card, and go for the non-refurbished model which is currently only $10 more in total, after a $15 rebate and comes with a 3 year warranty.

Such is the nature of the beast when dealing with refurb products. My faith in EVGA and Nvidia is not shaken.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Can you please send me pictures of any damage to the card along with the serial number so I can look into this for you, Matth@evga.com

5 out of 5 eggsWheeee graphics

Pros: Everything I expect from EVGA products.... except a lifetime warranty, unfortunately.

Very high performacne-to-price ratio, for this chipset. Haven't had to run anything less than high so far, and it still runs quite cool and silent.

Cons: Beware, recertified product did not include mini-HDMI adapter, as I'm pretty sure the fully-boxed version does. (Or at least should)
