Extreme overclockers Vince "k|ngp|n" Lucido and Illya "TiN" Tsemenko are not satisfied with the overclocking capabilities of current generation graphics cards. They want overclocking capabilities and performance that exists beyond what is traditionally considered enthusiast level. To overcome this, they began to work with EVGA on designing a new card from the ground up that is 100% focused on being the single fastest and greatest overclocking card on the block. This was accomplished with the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified.

This card features a 14+3 Phase Power Design that can deliver over 1000W of power, and the redesigned cooling solution with an 8CM fan improves efficiency by as much as 30% (compared to the standard cooler). The NEC Proadlizer, Super Low ESR SP-Cap capacitors, and high frequency 3MHz shielded inductors provide clean and precise voltage control, and the onboard voltage probe points let you monitor them with ease. Of course, full support for the EVGA EVBot means that you can overclock and monitor your card on the fly, and a special OC BIOS enables extreme overclocking mode.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified is engineered and designed to perform for everyone, from gamers to the top overclocking enthusiasts in the world. The dual slot top cooled design means that you do not need to worry about space or motherboard layout limitations, and this card supports everything from single card up to 4-way SLI out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsSli dose work perfect.

Pros: I ordered 2 of these evga gtx580 ultra classified cards from newegg and the sli performance of these cards is right on the money.I have had no issues running these cards in sli it was plug and play for me.I put the cards in loaded the drivers and that was it.
The performance is solid and I have not found anything I can not run at max game setting and still run super fps.Not one game or sim I run slows them down and they run cool in my system 29c to 32c idle and not over52c to 58c under load as the room temp gose up and down.
I'm sure the 670 & 680 cards have better performance but these card are truely something to see running in sli and to watch the fps in the games and sims I run.I will upgrade to the gtx670 4gb or gtx680 in time but for now I have all the performance I need and then some for what I'm running on this system.
I love the cards and have had no issues at all.

Cons: These cards have no cons...

Other Thoughts: I use the XFX pro1250 power supply in this system and it runs these card well.It takes alot of power cables to install these cards so check out your power supply.(4-8 pin and 2-6 pin for power running 2 cards in sli.
Also these cards are large and wide so check out your case to see if they will fit.I have these cards on a gigbyte 990 motherboard in a InWin dragon rider case and I have room but none to spare they just fit with the side fans installed for good air flowing to each card..
You can have issues with any pc parts but I really do not understand what the sli issue is in the review below. You need 2 cards alike to run sli or you could have a bad sli bridge.I hope you find your issue but these cards do run perfect in sli with super performance in everything I have run.I have had no issues with the evga gtx580 ultra 900MHz classified cards.

1 out of 5 eggsPretty

Pros: In stock

Cons: Would not support SLI and wouldn't work properly.

Manufacturer Response:

I do apologize for any confusion however the card does support SLI with another 3GB model, it will not however SLI with a 1.5GB model.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Performance...

Pros: I ordered 2 of these cards from newegg but one will run anything you want to run at max game settings. The card runs cool 31c at idle and did not go over 56c under gaming loads. With the 2nd card added to my system my fps are much higher on all games I played and they run almost as cool in sli in my system.
I have not overclocked the cards I have not needed to.One card can run games like rise of flight iorn cross on all max setting and still keep the fps at 60 or better with no issues at all.
I was running 2 evga gtx560ti 448 cards and one gtx580 can run the games smoother and I can not hear the fan as much. The evga gtx560ti 448 cards are super cards but I like the 580's much more.
This card is a solid card like all evga cards and well worth the money to me.I wanted the 680's but I got these cards to wait for the drivers for the 680's to smooth out more for the flight sims and games I run on this system.I hope they make a 3gb 680 soon.
I'm verry happy with the gtx580's performance.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the power to run these cards.I use the xfx pro1250 power supply in this system and I have had no issues. For 2 cards you need 4/8pin and 2/6pin cables for power to the card. You could run one card with a 1000wt power supply I would think and be safe to have all the power you would need.
With the evga gtx560ti 448 cards I could run anything I wanted but the evga gtx580 classified ultra cards just crush games and flight sims.
Well worth the money to me....

4 out of 5 eggsLOWER THE PRICE!!

Pros: Performance
3 Gb Vram
Looks Awesome

Cons: THE PRICE!! C'MON EVGA the GTX 580 is nowhere near worth the price your attempting to sell it at! IDK If this is the best super dooper songer dingle of the GTX 580's! It still get's outperformed by the GTX 670(which is $160 cheaper) by a large margin. The 7950 outperforms it as well.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!!!

Pros: Card is absolutely amazing!!! It can handle literally everything ive thrown at it on top graphic settings including Battlefield 2, COD, all CS Source games and mods, Crysis, and every game i own. Great cooling and very quiet cooling, which in turn makes overclocking a breeze. This card is a beast, period end of story. If you can afford it, this is the card you should buy.

Cons: The price.

Other Thoughts: Honestly price to performance i believe this card can be a bit cheaper, but if you have the money this card is your best option. I seriously doubt the need to sli this card in any way shape or form considering its easily overclockable but to each his own i suppose.

4 out of 5 eggsPerrrrty

Pros: Does pretty well, on my system scored a 6700 on 3DMark11 maxed windows index experience score. This card does what I need it to. Overclocking ability's for this card are ridiculous.

Cons: Price, really big card (tall), had to lose the 240mm fan on my in win case to make it fit. Uses a lot of power (2-8pin and1-6pin connectors), under load does get warm could be a nice space heater for the bedroom, 2 of these in sli could heat the house. Didn't get to purchase this from newegg. Maybe next time.

Other Thoughts: I could use another one of these, I was hoping that just one card for 1080p would be enough but it's not. I use fraps to check my framerates in my games that I play and was surprised in test drive unlimited 2 that I couldn't max out all the setting and keep the framerates above 60. I usually use newegg for everything but this time I had to use other means to get this card. All in all I am pretty happy but deep down inside I just wonder if I could have gotten my hands on a 680 if that would have been the better way to go.

5 out of 5 eggsFreaky Fast, Freaky Good!!

Pros: I've had this card going on 3 weeks now. It performs faster than what I initially thought, even at stock speeds.

Battlefield 3: Resolution 1920x1280 I can play on ultra settings (That means every setting on ultra) and only a few areas does it drop below 60fps.

Unigine - 1920x1280 default settings, 57.5fps at 900mhz (Stock). At 1000mhz the score is 61.5fps. To give you an idea how fast this card is, two gtx460 2gb Fermi's in SLI with the enhancement patch will get you 64fps. Two MSi Twin Frozr 6870 1gb's will get you about 68fps.

Windows Experience Index:

Windows 7: Desktop Aero 7.9, 3D Gaming 7.9
Windows 8 Consumer Preview: Desktop Aero 8.4, 3D Gaming 8.4

No longer do you have to shut your game machine off in fear of running up your electric bill. The driver down clocks the core to 50mhz, which make it idle at an incredible 28c and consume less than 100w!

D3 & WoW, the card runs about 56-60c depending on where you are. In Battlefield 3 the temps rise to aro

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My system:

ASRock Extreme 4 FX 990
8gb of Corsair ram @ 1600mhz
AMD 3120 8 core CPU
Coolermaster V8
EVGA 580GTX Classified (This card)
OCZ Agility 3 60gb SSD x3
Corsair 1050 Professional Power Supply
Corsair 600T White special edition case

For the people saying the size is a con, let me remind you you're buying a flagship video card designed for the enthusiast. To not expect it to be bigger, badder, louder, and meaner than the rest of the cards on the market just makes you ignorant.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing card

Pros: will run any game at max settings and at 1080p.
has a special "switch" to enable overclocking.
DX11 is a joke to it and rips through it
Pushes all the hot air out of the video card rather than into the case as other cards do

Cons: size...........It's flipping huge make double sure your case will fit it before purchase. I have a mid case and it BARELY fits.

Other Thoughts: overall this is a phenomenal card. absolutely a power house and a major upgrade from my SLI evga 550ti.

I am temporarily running this card on a 700 watt p/s and the p/s runs it but gets a little warm but a 700 watt will do it so long as you have the connections to support it

1 out of 5 eggs3rd one...

Pros: Is an amazing card when it works.

Cons: I had my first card for about 4 months before the screen started going blurry. The screen worked fine switched to TV. I RMA'd it through EVGA which I had to pay for shipping and it was DOA. The sent a third card which they paid for shipping and has been working for about 2 months now and today I am getting a blurry screen again....

Other Thoughts: EVGA's customer service is decent and the card is amazing when my screen doesnt blur up.

Manufacturer Response:

I do apologize if you are unable to get a crisp image. You may consider trying another cable as the problem is persisting over multiple cards. If you get the same result try a different monitor or port on the TV. If the issue persists please contact our 24/7 technical support (888)-881-3842 for further troubleshooting steps or me directly,

5 out of 5 eggsLov'n This Card!

Pros: - Compact size
- Good cooling w/o too much noise
- Onboard voltage probe points
- Up to 1000W (wait...WHAT?) w/ 14+3 phase
- It talks to me while I'm sleeping and says, "Come on dude, don't be afraid... let's clock up just a little bit more!"

Cons: - Requires two 8-pin, and one 6-pin connectors to power this beast.
- The GTX 680 release hasn't made this card more affordable... yet (?)
