Powered by the fastest and most power efficient GPU ever built by NVIDIA, the EVGA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card changes your game with unprecedented performance and features. This card is based on 28nm Kepler architecture and built around 1536 CUDA Cores with 2GB/256-bit GDDR5 memory, producing reality-redefining power and bringing smooth, seamless, true-to-life gaming like you have never experienced before. It’s also factory overclocked to 1084 MHz Base Clock/1150 MHz Boost Clock, a level higher than the 1006MHz/1058MHz than reference design, to pump out higher framerate in the hottest titles. Backplate delivers confident protection for the solder side. More than speed, this card packs support for all the premium GTX gaming technologies such as NVIDIA Surround, 3D Vision, PhysX and SLI. With these features and more, the EVGA GeForce GTX 680 gives you more than one way to elevate your experience.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.
  • newegg TXAA AntiAliasing Antialiasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new antialiasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from 3DVisionLive.com in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

5 out of 5 eggsJust as Advertised

Pros: Runs every game I have played at Max settings at 1080p. Have had no problems whatsoever. Will probably look to watercool and sli. Not needed, but computers are our race cars we make them faster because we can.

Cons: Hard to find second card in backplate version. Of course I could just stop being lazy and put one of myself. Ok I'm lazy.

4 out of 5 eggsEnthusiasts

Pros: Powerful, sturdy card. Able to run in 2.0 slot and still provide amazing graphic quality. Does not run loud or too hot. Does what most ask for and more.

Cons: Integrated Graphics on Intel chips causes problems, most likely motherboard related. Be sure to have gen 3 compatible board.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: Awesome performance, Looks great, rigid with backplate so it won't bend in your system, run cool & quiet, overclocks well. Easily able to run over 1200mhz with very little tweaking at all. Looking at getting a seconds. 1100+ GPU score in 3dmark11

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's unfortunate the run of bad cards that people are experiencing, however this card at the end of the day is the same as all the other 680 just with a different cooling shroud and bios. EVGA is good about catching issues with cards and I would't pass the beauty up because of a small percentage of owners bad luck.

Remember a much greater percentage of people will review a product poorly with a bad experience than those with a good experience.

4 out of 5 eggsThird one works

Pros: Works great once you get lucky.

Cons: Took 3 tries

Other Thoughts: The third one of these EVGA sent me (after 2 RMAs) works. I have no complaints at this point (as long as it keeps working) except that it took almost 2 months and a lot of hassle to get to this point. I would still not recommend getting one of these until the bad batches have been sorted out unless you don't mind dealing with RMAs.

1 out of 5 eggsI didn't listen... I DIDN'T LISTEN!

Pros: When it works, it works.

Cons: It stopped working.

Other Thoughts: Before buying this, I saw the reviews here. I figured it was a small batch of bad cards or a vocal minority. Apparently it's a large batch, and you can add me to what's becoming the vocal majority.

Today, two weeks after purchasing, my computer started crashing randomly, resulting in blue screens, my monitor losing its signal, red artifacts, or any combination of the three. My old card works fine.

Unfortunately I already filed the rebate, so a return was out of the question. I called up EVGA and got an RMA number. They covered the cost of shipping, which was nice of them. I then requested the baseline/inferior/cheaper 680 as a replacement, and they couldn't oblige, which was not nice of them. I'm afraid to even touch my replacement once it arrives. I'd rather sell it and have someone else deal with it.

In summation, stay away from this card. I don't know if there's an inherent flaw in the design, or if there's a large stock of faulty cards, but it doesn't matter. Go for a different EVGA model or a different brand.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am very sorry to hear that you had this issue. If you do keep the card and have any further issues, please give us a call at 888-881-3842.

Thank you,

1 out of 5 eggsCard arrived with issues, died the 2nd day.

Pros: The GPU itself, while working on the first day of installation of the latest stable driver package, was superb. The card is able to run any and all games I threw at it including Planetside 2 which ran smooth as silk. It completely maxes out Dota 2 at it's 120 FPS cap, and the card behaved superbly while it lived.

Cons: Sadly, the card failed near the end of day 1 and completely died on day 2. The game being run at the time would crash, and the first few crashes came up with a blue screen saying that Windows would restart to prevent any damage. Soon after, crashes which consisted of only the game crashing and red squares appearing on the screen, followed by a locked overclocking of the card, which warranted a restart each time, locked the frame rate at a measly 20-fps.

Further stress testing of the card via the Unigine Heaven Benchmark in DX11 proved that the card was indeed at fault. The benchmark at stock settings crashed within a minute of testing, while down clocking the card to its minimum settings via EVGA Precision allowed to it last longer. However, the card died on its test run at down clocked settings, and is now permanently disabled from even working with or without Nvidia drivers.

Seeing as my PSU should have more than enough power for it, and the fact that the card was correctly installed with its current drivers, the only answer to the crashes was that the card was defective.

I have already filed an RMA with EVGA, and I have to wait until January for the request to be even processed and begin the Cross-Shipping transfer.

As a customer who recently purchased an entire computer's worth of parts from Newegg for Christmas, I am extremely disappointed that such an expensive, high-end card arrived defective and untested. I sincerely hoped that these cards would be thoroughly tested for shortcomings, so that customers could avoid having to waste their time requesting RMAs, and also so that the customer could actually enjoy shopping from Newegg.

Other Thoughts: I sincerely hope that this RMA replacement is not also defective.

Again, I really hope that in the future these cards are tested for stability, especially considering their price tag.

1 out of 5 eggssecond card also defective.

Pros: none

Cons: I RMA'd my last defective one and received a brand new one (from EVGA directly). Popped it in today and it started artifacting within hours. Called to set up an RMA (and hopefully get a different card..) Now they are telling me I won't even be able to get another one until after the New Year. Pretty unacceptable, and I do not recommend anyone to get this card under any circumstances.

1 out of 5 eggsdefective

Pros: looks nice, should be fast if it worked.

Cons: I rolled the dice and lost. Got a defective one after all. When running anything mildly intensive for 5-10 minutes or even less, the card spits out blue square artifacts all over the screen and then the graphics driver crashes. First time I've ever had this issue with an EVGA card.. If I could go back I would just buy the stock model and stay safe.

Manufacturer Response:
