Step up to the Kepler architecture for amazing graphics performance and power efficiency with the EVGA GeForce GT 640 VGA card. It's based on the industry-leading 28nm technology and provides gorgeous DirectX 11 gaming and HD visuals at an unbeatable price. Hardware accelerated Blu-ray 3D playback enables the EVGA GeForce GT 640 VGA card to render stunning stereoscopic high-definition video with compatible displays and playback software. An array of NVIDIA innovations, such as NVIDIA Surround, NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync and the new FXAA Anti-aliasing Mode offers more than one way to elevate your gaming experience, bringing your entertainment and work to a new level like never before.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Simultaneously drive up to four independent 1080p displays for the ultimate multimedia or productivity workspace and expand a single application across all three displays for an immersive viewing perspective.
  • newegg FXAA AntiAliasing Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be demanding on framerates. FXAA is a new antialiasing technology that produces beautiful smooth lines with minimal performance impact. And with Kepler based GPUs, you'll be able to enable FXAA in hundreds of game titles through the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • newegg Blu-ray 3D Support Connect your PC to any 3D enabled TV over HDMI and enjoy a cinematic 3D experience in your home with seamless support for 1080p Blu-ray 3D discs.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well enough& got rebate !

Pros: First off for anyone worried about rebates - they do honor them and yes I did get my rebate check in the mail ! :) Ordered the video card around December 9th 2014 and got the rebate check February 6th 2014 so about a 2 month delay but that's not unusual at all as far as the length of time for a rebate check to clear ....

I didn't buy this as a "gaming" card per se.... it went into a PC that's not meant for high performance video games (I have a different PC for that ;) ) .... as far as the videos my daughter watches on her PC and being able to effortlessly scroll through web pages not a problem at all .... for all I know it could run PC games as well who knows?

Cons: None I can think of

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: cheap and very powerful. can run most games on medium to high but not with a super great frame rate. if you can set it up it works great for not too demeaning games. games like Battlefield 4 are hard to run but is amazing for the price

Cons: hardest thing to install ever in my life, if you have windows 8 you have to change a start up setting, if you don't it up you will think its broken. and the driver download is super confusing. *INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS NOT INCLUDED

Other Thoughts: EVGA sucks, and there costumer is bad if you need help call them don't email them or use any other form of communication, CALL them!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for the price

Pros: Price - I got a fantastic deal
Big, quiet fan
Performance is impressive for the money. This a move up from the on-board graphics for me (Radeon HD 3000) and it's light years ahead.

Cons: Yeah, there are better - if you want to spend a few bills.

Other Thoughts: I ignored the DVD and just went to the EVCA webste and downloaded the latest drivers/software (you can also signup for their beta releases if you want stay on top of the gaming curve). It takes a few minutes to download and install, but it works fine - no problems with the latest drivers.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro and the MB has only PCI-E 2.0

5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement for cheap card

Pros: Easy installation.

Cons: For some reason, my wireless mouse doesn't work with Rocksmith game now. Weird glitch that happened after installation. Not sure if it's connected and hope it'll fix itself

Other Thoughts: I have a four-year-old i7 PC that had a cheap graphics card in it. I was reluctant to replace it myself, but I wanted to save money. Also, the graphics card was giving me a very difficult time.

Good news! The replacement was easy. At first we flipped out because the new card looks so much larger than the previous one, but it slipped into place without a problem. I had heard different things about deleting my previous driver, but I decided not to because I was afraid it would mess up my system before I could install the new card. Apparently EVGA deleted it for me because it's gone.

The new driver was easy to install after using the software that came with the package. Of course, the driver was old, but EVGA has a very good system of getting you to their website so you can download the new driver.

After rebooting, everything appears to be fine. I ran the performance test, and this time the graphics improved significantly. On graphics I went from 3.7 (not great) to 7.1. My other graphics score, 5.9, went to 7.1.

I know this isn't the most expensive card out there, but I'm thinking about building my own PC in 2015, and I didn't want to spend a whole lot at this time.

Still, it works great so far. Very happy.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Performance for this Price

Pros: Cheap (after rebate)
Can run WoW well
Multiple DVI connection to run duel monitor
Large fan keeps it quiet
EVGA Precision program is interesting

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would of liked a HDMI instead of mini HDMI, but still an excellent value.
As others have mentioned be weary of updating to latest Nvidia drivers, I kept the driver that came with the package. My older Gforce card blue screened my PC after entering sleep mode.

3 out of 5 eggsNice little card, but beware

Pros: Easily works with Azrock Z77 Extreme 3 MB and dual monitors.

Cons: Don;t even try to update drivers beyond March 2014 NVIDIA release, or let Windows update install a driver (as if anybody would). It will make the whole system go crazy, and NVIDIA is characteristically unresponsive to questions or service requests.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent card for the money

Pros: Decent card for the money
Small efficient size and doesn't heat up the entire case

Cons: Not overly powerful. Useful for grandmother types who want the full features of WIndows Aero Interface, browse the web and watch a little youtube hulu etc, and play solitaire.

Other Thoughts: So I was building a pc for a relative as a gift and bought the card. However, when I went to fill out the rebate I realized it was US only. Luckily I had a helpful CSR who corrected the mistake by giving me a 35 gift card.

I'm knocking two eggs off for that.

Pros: Fast and cool running.Works with a 500 Watt power supplies.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card for the money

Pros: Compatibility - I currently have a motherboard that only has a PCIe x16 slot. The card works without issue. My OS is Ubuntu 14.04 with Cinnamon DE, and games play amazingly well.

Performance - I was quite amazed with how much my gaming improved when I installed this video card. I was previously playing Half-Life 2 on low settings and low resolution. After installing this card, I tried playing at native resolution with recommended settings and it was incredible, easily 60 fps with sharp graphics. I decided to see how far it would go and cranked all the settings to the max, it still played at 60 fps. The same could be said about Half-Life 2 Episode 1 & 2 when played at ultra settings and at 1080p resolution.

Overall a great card for the price.

Cons: None that were the fault of the Video Card.

Other Thoughts: After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, games were almost unplayable even after installing NVIDIA graphics drivers, this problem was solved by installing the Cinnamon DE.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Modest Card

Pros: No extra power required (no PCI-E plug). Whopping 2GB of memory. Very small in size. Runs WoW near max settings with average fps at 60-70. Very good price point.

Cons: No Cons considering.

Other Thoughts: Great card. I wasn't sure this card could be what it is advertised to be. But it is. Very Nice for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Price - Small size - fairly quiet

Cons: Plays most games decent - some issues with Steam games on very high settings. Had to go back to HIGH settings.

Other Thoughts: Not bad for a decent card to run games on, etc. TF2 is good on HIGH settings, etc. MineCraft, etc.. all work great.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: cheap video card

Cons: multi-mon doesnt work
micro-dvi doesnt work

Other Thoughts: i always had radeon video cards, but decided to get this card since newegg was having a sale and the card had perfect ratings. the video cards works great. i bought the micro-dvi to hdmi adapter and it didnt work for some reason, so dont rely on that feature. but the worst thing about the card is that the second monitor will not wake up after it goes to sleeps which gets very annoying, you must turn on and off the monitor. searching the forums are no help, the only advice they have is to not let your computer sleep.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Matthew l.,

I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with the multiple monitor set up and your EVGA graphics card. I would encourage you to contact our 24 hour Technical Support team by phone 1.888.881.3842 and pressing option 1 or by email Newegg@EVGA.com, so that we can further assist you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card for the money

Pros: Good card for the money, and I use it for games. I play Skyrim a lot, and this handles it well on medium to high settings. Ultra High settings can bog down the fps during big battles, but so far on medium it seems to perform well.

Cons: Only has a micro HDMI output. I had to buy another cord for it, although I could have gotten an adapter. I blame myself for not reading the specs carefully enough though.

Other Thoughts: I use this system for gaming and streaming on a 47" flat screen LED TV. I will probably upgrade this card in due course, but so far, for the price, I'm impressed with it's performance. Just be aware that the HDMI output is a micro-HDMI and you'll be fine. Other than that, I have no complaints about this card and would definitely recommend it for someone looking for a good card in the price range.

Pros: I wanted a good card for my new build. I am not really a gamer, so I can't give you details on it's gaming performance. But I can say it has met all my needs and all my videos look sharp and clean!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great price and good reviews is what led me to this card and I was not dissapointed.

Pros: Decent price. good quality.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought two of these cards -- installed one in an AMD hex machine, Windows 8 and the other in an Intel X4 machine, Windows 7. They work flawlessly and run cool. I have recommended this card to others. I am not a heavy gamer -- Minecraft, TF2, Roblox -- this works great for them.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent gaming card

Pros: By excellent, I mean price/performance/power requirement. Plays what I needed it to, and does it well. Not a GTX 560Ti, but doesn't require the 6 pin power. Seems to be plenty quiet.

Cons: Not a con, and I haven't verified, but upon initial bootup as well as bringing the PC out of sleep mode, I believe the fan briefly goes 100% (which is plenty audible), and then settles back down. I say I haven't verified as this is a new build and other than the case fans and the stock CPU fan, that's all there is. Another machine with stock CPU fan doesn't do this, so I assume it's the video card.

Other Thoughts: It's running on a MSI ZH77A-G43, Intel G2020 CPU, G-Skill 8GB PC1600, and an inexpensive coolermaster 460 watt PSU. This particular PSU was ~20 bucks on sale here, has the 12 volt rail split in to two, each have a 18 amp rating and the output of this portion of the PSU being ~350 watts. Seems to be plenty for this video card. Other components in the PC are a WD blue 1TB hard drive and an Asus DVD/RW.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for my dedicated PhysX card

Pros: Price
No power plug needed
Runs cool - exhausts to the rear
Short card overall
2 gigs for this price point is excellent
Low power consumption

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: I bought this with the intent to use it as a dedicated physX card. In this capacity it is flawless. My personal FPS have increase 10 or more on ultra high graphics settings ( WoW - Borderlands 2 - GW2 - Neverwinter - A TON of games that can't utilize the power of my main GPU yet still managed to run better regardless )

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cheap GPU

Pros: Have used in all my builds as stand alone GPu (testing) and now have as a dedicated PPU (original purpose for buying it)
- No extra PCI power cord needed to run it
- Easy to over clock (as with most GPUs)
- Low heat
- Low noise
- Low power consumption

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value Card

Pros: I bought this card for a family member to replace a Radeon HD 5450 that originally came with her computer so she could play some modern games decently at a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It runs a lot cooler with its 28nm Kepler architecture and great heat sink + fan, only reaching a max of 45°C while gaming and idling just a hair above room temperature. With the 314.22 drivers downloaded from NVIDIA's website, it received a PassMark PerformanceTest rating of 1322 for 3D graphics. There is no real noise difference between this card and the one that was passively cooled which it replaced, which is nice as well. The extra performance of this card compared to a GT 630 is well worth the little extra price.

Cons: Kind of odd that one DVI connector is DVI-I and one is DVI-D. This could pose a problem to someone who wants dual monitors with both monitors being analog and requiring a DVI to VGA adapter, since only DVI-I supports the adapter.

Other Thoughts: If you have the power supply capability and your processor is not going to be a bottleneck, it may be a better value in the long run for gaming if you invest a little more into a GTX 650 or GTX 650 Ti. However this suits my family members needs just well.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Flawlessly as a dedicated Physx card + more!

Pros: Does not require external power means one less cable. PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface. 2GB memory is more than enough. Small size for those with small cases. Can support 3 monitors simultaneously. Cooling fan actually blows air out the front of the card.

Cons: Doesn't come with mini-HDMI adapter.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to use as a dedicated Physx card to take the load off my EVGA 02G-P4-2662-KR GTX 660 2GB Superclocked graphics card and it does this perfectly. The biggest issue I've had in the past with graphics card cooling fans like this that the air is blown out every which way in the case but out. Not at all a problem with this card. I can actually feel warm air comming out this cards front vent instead of back into my PC! I can't say for sure how well it would do by itself, but if you need a dedicated Physx card look no further.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Surprised

Pros: 1.) Overkill 2GB of texture memory.
2.) Highest number of CUDA cores for dollar.
3.) Effortless, smooth full-screen anti-aliasing.
4.) Energy efficient in comparison to older, high-end models.
5.) Very compact in comparison to older models.
6.) Relatively inexpensive and widely available.
7.) Quiet and cool.
8.) Solid drivers.
9.) Lifetime warranty.

Cons: 1.) Uses GDDR3 memory architecture.

Other Thoughts: I looked through various cards in the $75-$100 price bracket, and was torn between the Radeon HD 7750 and the GT 640 2GB.

I am quite impressed with the performance level of the GT 640.

Having gone from an older (and very dead), ASUS ENGTS250 DK/1GB, I was worried of taking a step down with my next value purchase. This card does what my old one did with far less noise, energy, and heat.

If you're in a similar situation as I was and looking for a card under $100, this is probably it.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: I absolutely love this card. Its not a powerhouse, but for the price it gets the job done. It has low power requirements and is mostly quiet. Under a full load it stays about 38 degress Celcius, which is really cool.

Cons: No Sli support, If it had SLI support I wouldnt think twice about getting a second 1

5 out of 5 eggsDecent GPU

Pros: Purchased this card recently for ~$70, which is a bargain for this card (2G memory); its not ideal for gaming, but should be sufficient for most games at low-medium settings.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsGood for Low End

Pros: Great card for the price (90$), just not ideal for gamers. It can run most games at playable frames, just not on max.

Cons: Super tiny. Compared from my GTS 240 I upgraded from, it's the shortest graphics card I owned. Lagging a bit on some of the newer games coming out at med to high settings.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking to game with this, save some extra money, and get something better you won't regret it. I suggest getting a 670 if you doing anything with heavy gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: I investigated reasonable cards for a while. I am not a gamer, but wanted a better card than my GeForce 9550 for video; photograph display; Youtube; general browsing etc. I settled on this and since I had room in my chassis I bought the double slot version with the exhaust fan for temperature reasons.
I was not disappointed. It installs easily and the drivers install without a hitch. In fact, the drivers from my old Geforce worked without updating, although I did that once it was working. No hitches at all.
The temperature of the GPU is around 30C, whereas my Geforce 9550 ran around 65C. It is much cooler. Even when running the benchmarks, it did not get above 40. It made my whole system 10C cooler and my CPU runs cooler. It seems as= if the frequency is dynamic.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought it with a $20 rebate so paid $80. A bargain. Hopefully I will get the rebate back with no issues.
I did look hard at the GeForce 640 which has faster memory, but decided on this with the 2 slots. I called Nvidia and tech support told me I would not notice the difference.
It is overclockable, although I have no interest in doing that. I am guessing it will work as a budget gaming card very well.

4 out of 5 eggsMy quad monitor setup

Pros: These are great cards to use in a multi-monitor setup. Inexpensive and low power consumption.

Cons: Too bad EVGA lacked the intelligence to put the same type of DVI connector on both ports. The bottom (assumed main) DVI port has the four pins around the spade. The top connector doesn't. Just farther proof that engineers are educated ID10T. These cards also do not support SLI.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the proper cables since both connectors are different, or, like myself, you'll be using needle-nose pliers to pull the pins out of the cables. I have two 20 inch monitors and was purchasing two 23 inch monitors. Thought, what am I going to do with the 20 inchers. Made a quad display system which required dual graphics cards. These puppies work like a champ for a multi-monitor setup.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Plays all the games I want it to on higher than most default settings.
Runs at about +6F above room temperate and can get to 100F underload in my HAF 912.

Cons: It's in the case, I can't see it.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone on a budget gaming build. This paired with an i5 and 16GB ram works great for hosting & running games.

4 out of 5 eggsA pretty decent card

Pros: I bought this card a little over a month ago and so far it's been decent for what I've needed it for. It displays videos and DVDs at very nice quality. Everything looks fantastic on it. It runs pretty quiet at average fan speeds and stays nice and cool.

Cons: Not the best for games. It's a pretty weak card when it comes to gaming; however, it clearly states on the packaging that it's good for ENTRY-LEVEL gaming, so it's not a big deal. I was kind of surprised that it couldn't handle The Sims 3 well at all. I had to lower the graphics settings pretty low and I have 8 gigabytes of RAM and an Intel 3.1 Ghz quad-core processor. Again, not that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to play games, I wouldn't bother with this card. It'll be good for only a few entry-level games, as the package suggests. Spend a little extra and get a GTX 650 or 660 instead. However, this card is EXCELLENT for videos and video editing.

4 out of 5 eggsAnother Good EVGA Video Card

Pros: Inexpensive, 2G memory, uses latest Kepler chip, came with free software, EVGA customer support

Cons: May not have the highest video performance as other cards in this price range

Other Thoughts: Needed to run a Sony HDTV via HDMI along with two DVI computer monitors, this card replaced an EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+, which was a good card, but did not have HDMI out.
Installed easily, runs two 23" monitors at 1920x1080 and can watch movies on the big screen Sony. Not the card you want for video gaming, I use my computer mostly for photo and video editing.
Came with a rebate and free software. EVGA has great customer service and makes good products. I probably could have got a little more performance from another company, but I am after reliability and quality in this case.

Pros: Just a follow-up to review I posted several days ago...card still works great, no issues there. I did receive the free software as advertised. Finally received a email providing instructions and links for the downloads. Not only received Adobe PS elements 10, but also Nova Backup Professional 13 & Stuffit 2010... really like Photoshop Elements, thanks EVGA!

4 out of 5 eggsEVGA Rules!

Pros: Typical excellent EVGA packaging and build quality, installs easily and with EVGA Precision X 3.03 software can actually overclock the GPU. Quiet, responsive and runs cool.

Cons: Could not figure out how to get my copy of Adobe PS elements 10 during EVGA registration; this card was not indicated as qualifying and EVGA website said promotion was concluded. Either New Egg has it wrong or EVGA is not making it simple to get the software.

Other Thoughts: A bit pricey as compared to other cards with similar technical capabilities, but EVGA quality trumps the difference.

4 out of 5 eggsProbably a good choice for most people

Pros: Initially this met my basic expectations and handled my triple monitor setup (2560x1600 and 2 1920x1200) without a hitch.

Cons: This is not necessarily the fault of the video card but there is a driver conflict between this card and my 8 port Areca SATA raid controller that has forced me to return the card and look elsewhere. The driver conflict causes Windows 7's Interrupt process to use 100% of one of my processor cores. No combination of available drivers for either device or even switching the physical locations of the cards has had an impact.

Other Thoughts: Got this card as the safe choice but for reasons that may be unique to my collection of hardware I had to return it.

5 out of 5 eggsvery pleased

Pros: Smallish, lower power no extra plug required, triple screen output, uses latest Kepler GK107 chip, has overkill 2GB, works with Linux, very smooth desktop usage.

Cons: It's not a super high performance card (ddr3), but this is expected. Perf/price ratio could be better, compared to other available cards. Rebate.

Other Thoughts: This card works great for triple screen 3D accelerated KDE4 in Linux with binary driver. It has two dual-link outputs and one single-link (via passive hdmi to dvi converter). The GT640 is basically a GTX650, but uses ddr3 and 157 MHz less, about 31% slower overall. Surprisingly, this card performs even better than a high-end 500 series in Linux for desktop usage -- nobody ever talks about this, but the idle clock is 324MHz, which is more than 6x faster than the 500-series (50MHz), and it's totally noticeable with the KDE4 desktop, so smooth all the time, none of that stutter for two seconds before bumping up to medium clock levels when moving a window.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty awesome GPU

Pros: This video card is pretty awesome. I don't do top notch games or anything but this graphics card will run WoW in ultra in the most populated areas. Pretty cheap and the only 2GB GPU right at $100. Can't beat it. Easy to install, put in the disc let it do its thing and you're good to go. 5 eggs!

Cons: Not really anything that I have found yet.

Other Thoughts: I'm running this GPU with an Asus M5A97 mobo, 16GB 4x4 Corsair Vengeance RAM, AMD Phenom II Black Edition 965, Rosewill 630W PSU, and it runs great!!!

3 out of 5 eggsNo support for HP

Pros: The size and heat out put are great, almost none of both. The ablility to use 3 monitors. (haven't tried yet.)

Cons: No support for HP motherboards. I know those boards really shouldn't matter but it will not boot in 10 different HP workstations work.
HP 5800
HP 6000 Pro
I don't know if its the MB or Video card bios. But alot of people will try buying this so they don't have to use SLI to get 3 monitors. If it's for a work computer/workstation (HP confirmed) this video crad will not boot. Gives me the 6 beeps and LED which means, Video card failed.

Place this in a normal 16x or PCIex 2.0 slot on a DFI, EVGA and Asus ROG MB and it boots fine and works great. HP, not so lucky.

Other Thoughts: Really wish all video card bios would work with any MB's but o well.

5 out of 5 eggsReview on 3-screen utilization.

Pros: Dual slot coolink sink, 30-38C normal idle/video playback operating temps.

New version of Nvidia surround lets windows maximize within individual screens rather than across all 3. Now you must go full-screen for a spanned image which makes perfect sense, CCC has yet to match this feature in eyefinity (I wish they would).

No tearing on any displays with all standard DVI and HMDI connections unlike AMD cards which require you to buy a $20-$30 active adapter only to experience tearing on one connection type or the other, although the tearing has finally been fixed for many cards with CCC 12.6 Regardless, not having to buy that adaptor is a huge plus assuming you don't have a DP compatible display.

Cons: Minor bug in current software version for 3 screen Nvidia surround causes windows to offset individual screens when maximized if the taskbar is on the right or left side of a screen rather than the top or bottom. Likely to be fixed in the future.

Fan isn't the quietest, with such low temps I expect you could remove the fan assembly and still stay well, well under the maximum safe operating temps.

Other Thoughts: Previously the cheapest way to acheive 5760x1080 Nvidia Surround was to SLI 2 GTX460s. Now it can be done with a single low power, low temp, $110 GPU. It's a big step forward. AMDs comparable cards have better performance at this price point but for those doing 3 screens the GT 640 is ultimately a better buy.

4 out of 5 eggsALMOST perfect

Pros: Beautiful little card. Pumps out Starcraft 2 on medium settings with ease and runs my dual monitor setup nearly flawlessly(see cons). Runs incredibly cool and NEEDS NO EXTRA POWER so that's great for people missing 6-pin connectors and trying to beef up an old machine.

Cons: I have a weird issue where it won't show any display until Windows is fully loaded, but only while using two monitors. Seemingly, a hardware issue. No skin off my back because this is only a temporary card for me, but something people should know.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card because I was caught in a limbo of selling my 470 and purchasing a 670. Don't expect to be maxing out any current games but it's perfect for a high-end media center or breathing new life into old machines. Would definitely recommend for a budgeted gamer or workstation build.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazingly cool running 2x 23 inch montors.

Pros: Good feature set with the 600 series and low power consumption. With 2x 23 inch monitors attached I ran EQII (more CPU intensive MMO) on it 4 hours this AM and it never went hotter than 40c, in a non AC cooled apartment.

Cons: Its DD3 be aware, its not a gaming card but great with all the CUDA cores for media use and multi monitor, production setups.

Other Thoughts: Know what you are buying and you won't be disappointed in this card, really efficient for what it was built for.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat I needed – nothing more, nothing less…

Pros: Surprisingly low-profile! No need for power directly from the PSU, the amps for the GPU come from the PCI-E – just screw it in and you’re good to go/no additional cables to mess around with. Integrated fan unit is fairly substantial/good air-flow.

Cons: On-board fan is proportionally powerful and loud – not obnoxiously so, but it does make its presence known (fairly innocuous as far as fans can go). Doesn’t make me tea.

Other Thoughts: Swapped this in after my two faithful EVGA GT 8800s bought the farm. The specs for this card are ~50% better than them in SLI. Admittedly you can’t SLI with this one, but I put it in an older rig that’ll get less use than my primary – the RAM and GPU will be antiquated before graphics will be an issue again. Plus there’s the added bonus of DX11 over the 8800s. And I have to say: It’s nice to not have to deal with SLI jumpers again. I had to do a bios reset to get things going – not complaining, just saying that you should be ready to do so if you’re reverting from SLI/upgrading like I was.
