Step up to the Kepler architecture for amazing graphics performance and power efficiency with the EVGA GeForce GT 640 VGA card. It's based on the industry-leading 28nm technology and provides gorgeous DirectX 11 gaming and HD visuals at an unbeatable price. Hardware accelerated Blu-ray 3D playback enables the EVGA GeForce GT 640 VGA card to render stunning stereoscopic high-definition video with compatible displays and playback software. An array of NVIDIA innovations, such as NVIDIA Surround, NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync and the new FXAA Anti-aliasing Mode offers more than one way to elevate your gaming experience, bringing your entertainment and work to a new level like never before.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Simultaneously drive up to four independent 1080p displays for the ultimate multimedia or productivity workspace and expand a single application across all three displays for an immersive viewing perspective.
  • newegg FXAA AntiAliasing Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be demanding on framerates. FXAA is a new antialiasing technology that produces beautiful smooth lines with minimal performance impact. And with Kepler based GPUs, you'll be able to enable FXAA in hundreds of game titles through the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • newegg Blu-ray 3D Support Connect your PC to any 3D enabled TV over HDMI and enjoy a cinematic 3D experience in your home with seamless support for 1080p Blu-ray 3D discs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for the price

Pros: Price - I got a fantastic deal
Big, quiet fan
Performance is impressive for the money. This a move up from the on-board graphics for me (Radeon HD 3000) and it's light years ahead.

Cons: Yeah, there are better - if you want to spend a few bills.

Other Thoughts: I ignored the DVD and just went to the EVCA webste and downloaded the latest drivers/software (you can also signup for their beta releases if you want stay on top of the gaming curve). It takes a few minutes to download and install, but it works fine - no problems with the latest drivers.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro and the MB has only PCI-E 2.0

5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement for cheap card

Pros: Easy installation.

Cons: For some reason, my wireless mouse doesn't work with Rocksmith game now. Weird glitch that happened after installation. Not sure if it's connected and hope it'll fix itself

Other Thoughts: I have a four-year-old i7 PC that had a cheap graphics card in it. I was reluctant to replace it myself, but I wanted to save money. Also, the graphics card was giving me a very difficult time.

Good news! The replacement was easy. At first we flipped out because the new card looks so much larger than the previous one, but it slipped into place without a problem. I had heard different things about deleting my previous driver, but I decided not to because I was afraid it would mess up my system before I could install the new card. Apparently EVGA deleted it for me because it's gone.

The new driver was easy to install after using the software that came with the package. Of course, the driver was old, but EVGA has a very good system of getting you to their website so you can download the new driver.

After rebooting, everything appears to be fine. I ran the performance test, and this time the graphics improved significantly. On graphics I went from 3.7 (not great) to 7.1. My other graphics score, 5.9, went to 7.1.

I know this isn't the most expensive card out there, but I'm thinking about building my own PC in 2015, and I didn't want to spend a whole lot at this time.

Still, it works great so far. Very happy.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Performance for this Price

Pros: Cheap (after rebate)
Can run WoW well
Multiple DVI connection to run duel monitor
Large fan keeps it quiet
EVGA Precision program is interesting

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would of liked a HDMI instead of mini HDMI, but still an excellent value.
As others have mentioned be weary of updating to latest Nvidia drivers, I kept the driver that came with the package. My older Gforce card blue screened my PC after entering sleep mode.

3 out of 5 eggsNice little card, but beware

Pros: Easily works with Azrock Z77 Extreme 3 MB and dual monitors.

Cons: Don;t even try to update drivers beyond March 2014 NVIDIA release, or let Windows update install a driver (as if anybody would). It will make the whole system go crazy, and NVIDIA is characteristically unresponsive to questions or service requests.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent card for the money

Pros: Decent card for the money
Small efficient size and doesn't heat up the entire case

Cons: Not overly powerful. Useful for grandmother types who want the full features of WIndows Aero Interface, browse the web and watch a little youtube hulu etc, and play solitaire.

Other Thoughts: So I was building a pc for a relative as a gift and bought the card. However, when I went to fill out the rebate I realized it was US only. Luckily I had a helpful CSR who corrected the mistake by giving me a 35 gift card.

I'm knocking two eggs off for that.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card for the money

Pros: Compatibility - I currently have a motherboard that only has a PCIe x16 slot. The card works without issue. My OS is Ubuntu 14.04 with Cinnamon DE, and games play amazingly well.

Performance - I was quite amazed with how much my gaming improved when I installed this video card. I was previously playing Half-Life 2 on low settings and low resolution. After installing this card, I tried playing at native resolution with recommended settings and it was incredible, easily 60 fps with sharp graphics. I decided to see how far it would go and cranked all the settings to the max, it still played at 60 fps. The same could be said about Half-Life 2 Episode 1 & 2 when played at ultra settings and at 1080p resolution.

Overall a great card for the price.

Cons: None that were the fault of the Video Card.

Other Thoughts: After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, games were almost unplayable even after installing NVIDIA graphics drivers, this problem was solved by installing the Cinnamon DE.
