1 out of 5 eggsOhhhh Noes!!!

Pros: Small size, perfect for my HTPC.

Cons: I have had the card for less than 3 months and today I heard the sound of failure coming from back of my comp. I knew exactly what it was. I opened the comp and started it back up and heard my old nemesis, dying GPU fan. the fan was spinning so slow I was able to calculate the rpm just by looking at it. I put my index finger on the heatsink and it nearly burned my finger. It seems like others are having the same problem.

The dilemma I'm faced with now is I need to get this comp up and running pronto, but EVGA needs the GC back before they send out a replacement and I don't have a spare graphics card laying around. I'll try the WD40 thing on the fan.

Other Thoughts: 80% of my graphics cards have been EVGA, but this is 2nd time a fan has failed on it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little card!

Pros: Price, Small size, GDDR 5, Runs cool, Quiet.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I've had this card for 6 months now. Always like to wait a bit before I review so any problems have time to show themselves... But honestly this video card has been great!

I got it to replace my stone-age 8600GS and it has exceeded expectations. It's definitely the only card you're going to find in this price range with 1GB of ram and GDDR5 memory which were two of my big wants in a new card.

I can play modern games on medium high settings with a very decent frame rate. Ive seen my friends spend twice this much for cards with almost identical specs, that preform almost the same. For my money, you can't beat this GT 630!

1 out of 5 eggsInsult to Injury

Pros: Original was DDR5
The DDR3 replacement will sit in storage in case I need a test and/or temporary replacement card in the future
Couldn't wait for replacement so paid more money for a competitive product which appears very stable.

Cons: EVGA replaced the 4-month old card with defective fan; however, they had the audacity to send a downgraded memory unit. I originally bought model 01G-PE-2632-KR because I wanted D-D-R-5 memory. They sent me model 01G-P3-2631-KR which is D-D-R-3. Thought I might get a refurb, but never a memory downgrade.

Other Thoughts: Original card with defective fan had to be returned in tact, they don't send replacement "parts." Forget about Tech Support saying to contact them direct for personalized service, when you do, you are transferred to Customer Support who insists you have to register a RMA request on-line. Worst experience ever with a vendor. I'm scrolling right past all items sold by EVGA.
They receive 1 egg because I have a back-up graphics card.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I apologize for this experience. Please contact us at 888-881-3842 so we can resolve this matter for you.

1 out of 5 eggsGT630 GDDR5

Pros: Small size, low power usage. GDDR5.

Cons: Had this card for 5 months and the fan stopped spinning. Strange it did not crash I suppose it gets enough air because of the double slot. I had to take the fan out and oil it with 5w-30 synthetic motor oil to get it spinning again and now it works fine. Iv owned two EVGA cards the first one was a 7600GT less then a year later strange waves in the screen and now this GT630 fan stopped! I have had many brands of cards some are 6 years old like my BFG 8600GTS OCE it still works.

Other Thoughts: I'm not going to RMA it because it works now, EVGA you put a real bad fan on this model. Sure its GDDR5 but its only 51.2 GB/s. My old 512MB EliteGroup 9800GT smokes this thing and the fan has never stopped! I'm back to using my old card. No more EVGA for me.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

If you experience any further issues with your fan please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-881-3842 so we can resolve that for you. Also, please keep in mind that this is one of the entry level cards and is ment for more desktop applications opposed to high performance tasks. We recommend something from the GTX line for more intensive graphical tasks.

Thank you,
Brandon B

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: So far so good! The card works just fine for what I'm doing. I'm not running games off this card (I have a primary card for that), so I can't speak to how well it performs on games.

Good card for moderate use!

Cons: none so far

2 out of 5 eggsDefinitely Beware and Move On -- Horrible Fan

Pros: At the time, the price after MIR
Card is short but requires two mobo slots.
Saw very slight image improvement on display from the card this replaced but not enough to make the fan noise tolerable.

Cons: 1. The fan, the fan, the fan--doesn't "growl", mine "grinds"
2. On-site registration required to request RMA--what is that nonsense about, and you had better have an extra fan laying around for the two week + turn around
3. Heatinsk fan is moulded to the top housing--can't replace just the fan or clean and lubricate bearings.
4. Better have a very small jewelers screwdriver to remove screws from the fan.

Other Thoughts: Extremely disappointed with this purchase and feeling I wasted money. Too many similar complaints. EVGA had to know these fans are defective when they were shipped and did nothing but let the customers be the victims.
Will never, ever trust and/or buy another EVGA product because of the fan quality, construction and their RMA process--seemingly designed to discourage requesting an RMA.
NewEgg should do what is morally, ethically and professionally appropriate--stop selling this product and insist EVGA call them back from their warehouse.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your experience. EVGA does try to maintain a very fast RMA turn around time which is usually 2-3 days from when we receive the product. Please contact me directly and I will look into a possible solution for you.

Thank you,
Brandon B

1 out of 5 eggsBAD TO THE FAN

Pros: easy to install

Cons: cooling fan only lasted 2 months and now shuts off my pc when the video card overheats.

Other Thoughts: Thought this would be the perfect video card for my pc. Even upgraded my power supply unit to accommodate the card. Not such a good deal if it only lasts 2 months

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA gt 630 1gb gddr3

Pros: First off, this thing surprised me. Everyone wants the biggest and baddest now in days especially in the gaming world but in all reality you don't need a $500 plus gpu just to play a game like bf3 crysis ect. This is my backup cpu that others play on and they are surprised what a $70 gpu can do. It isn't insane fps like 100+ but it gets 35+ on bf3 online with high/medium settings playing at 1080 which is a heck of a lot better then ps3. This is overclock-able which is nice. I usually overclock it a little to get some fps but running 25mhz overclock is quite noticeable the only thing that is locked on the card is the volts. You cannot over volt it. Yes it runs 3 monitors i have 2 tv's and a monitor hooked up at times when im wanting to watch something other than cartoons with my kid (see also cons).

Cons: No voltage adjustment on the evga precision for this card. Only 96 cores. Not strong enough to run AA on high taxing gpu games. I wouldn't try gaming with 3 monitors though. 1gb and 128 bit with gddr3 isn't that great for 3 monitor gaming but is sufficient for regular use. (word, youtube, ect.)

Other Thoughts: I Gave it 5 eggs due to it being such a bargain gpu. I really can't complain for the price. If your just looking for a cheap gpu to get you by until the newer cards are released then i'd say pick this up. So many people have snuffed at this card to be astonished when they actually play on it. Yes it isn't even close to the best but who really needs the best?

P.S. if you really want a 3 monitor gaming setup plan on spending $300+

Specs:
phenom ii x4 945 @3.0 ghz
790x g45

2 out of 5 eggsFan growls and stop

Pros: Great card for the price.

Cons: Fan started growling after a couple of weeks. I took it out and blew out the little bit of dust. Reinstalled and it continued to growl intermittently. 2 months in it shut down the computer when the fan apparently stopped and the card overheated. Took it out and blew out the little bit of dust. It still works!, but growls as before. Poor design, craftsmanship, and/or a lemon.

Other Thoughts: This is the wife's computer, so this card was the perfect price and performance until the fan failed.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with this card. If you would like to submit the card for an RMA you can contact us at 888-881-3842 and we can assist you with that.

Thank you,
Brandon B

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Potent Card

Pros: The 128 Bit GDDR5 memory really gives this card a boost.

This makes the 96 cores really fly.

57.6 GB/s may sound overkill but it helps, you may find yourself playing high end games this card isn't suppose to handle at mid range settings. Most games are designed to be "playable" so they don't loose out to the lower end market but don't expect to get full antialiasing and tessellation, it should do 40fps+ without those settings turned on.

Cons: None, Card is well balanced in price and performance.
