Step up to the Kepler architecture for amazing graphics performance and power efficiency with the EVGA GeForce GT 640 VGA card. It's based on the industry-leading 28nm technology and provides gorgeous DirectX 11 gaming and HD visuals at an unbeatable price. Hardware accelerated Blu-ray 3D playback enables the EVGA GeForce GT 640 VGA card to render stunning stereoscopic high-definition video with compatible displays and playback software. An array of NVIDIA innovations, such as NVIDIA Surround, NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync and the new FXAA Anti-aliasing Mode offers more than one way to elevate your gaming experience, bringing your entertainment and work to a new level like never before.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Simultaneously drive up to four independent 1080p displays for the ultimate multimedia or productivity workspace and expand a single application across all three displays for an immersive viewing perspective.
  • newegg FXAA AntiAliasing Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be demanding on framerates. FXAA is a new antialiasing technology that produces beautiful smooth lines with minimal performance impact. And with Kepler based GPUs, you'll be able to enable FXAA in hundreds of game titles through the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • newegg Blu-ray 3D Support Connect your PC to any 3D enabled TV over HDMI and enjoy a cinematic 3D experience in your home with seamless support for 1080p Blu-ray 3D discs.

1 out of 5 eggsWow, Think i got robbed

Pros: It looks good on paper, and the price was not bad

Cons: This product shows a 900 Mhz core clock yet any program I have run to test it shows 501 Mhz. OCing it can push 560 before it starts to flip out and crash.

Other Thoughts: Should have stuck with an AMD card. Have done hours on hours of research and see this same issue with many other people who own the card and no fix to be found.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsEXCELLENT CARD!!

Pros: Powerful!

Cons: It runs at a 128 bit, but that is in the description so you know what you are buying.

Other Thoughts: Every game I have thrown at it runs with no lag, no glitching, no problems. I also would like to add that when I bought this card, I forgot that Gateway likes to do things upsidedown, so this card I had to make some modifications to get it to fit. It fits, it runs GREAT. I have been running it for about 10 months with no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card !!

Pros: it runs every game at medium to high settings. I have tested every game I own and it has exceeded my expectations thus far. My WEI is 7.1 in both visual categories. This card smokes my old Geforce GT 450 1 gb DDR5, and at just a fraction of the power. Great bang for the buck. Its plays MK deception, deadly alliance, armegeddon in 1080 AT 60+ fps with the PCSX2. Emulators love this card. For a sub 100.00 card this will not disapoint

Cons: None as of yet

3 out of 5 eggsMove on to the next upgrade

Pros: It runs well and has 4 gigs on board. Also easy to set up. Supports a mini HDMI.

Cons: It may have 4gigs but it only runs 128bit which means it's powerful but not that fast. Also, most people don't have a mini HDMI cable/converter lying around.

Other Thoughts: If you're willing to spend another $30-$50 you can easily upgrade to the 650ti which is part of the "high performance " line. I'm returning mine for the upgrade.

3 out of 5 eggsGood upgrade card

Pros: setup was par for evga/geforce/nvidia. unable to differentiate the higher memory value. better performance than Gigabyte ATI card

Cons: rebate, 3 restarts to configure 23" dual screens. no mini-hdmi adapter, hdmi/dvi adapater waste of money. limited tweeking of resolution to adjust screens.

Other Thoughts: not a bad price for upgrading card

1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: It was really cheap when it was on sale.

Cons: It's worse then my old card by a lot. When I got it on the box it had a 4GB sticker over 2GB. Device manager shows it near 1700 MB or so.

Other Thoughts: I will definitely be returning this.

Manufacturer Response:

Please use the NVIDIA control panel to determine the memory size.
