A new hit of the "sweet spot" for gamers, the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 delivers the ultimate combination of performance, power efficiency, and affordability. This card is built around 960 CUDA Cores with 3072 MB / 192 bit GDDR5 memory to render your blockbuster games with vivid details and skip-free pictures. This SuperClocked model is factory overclocked to 1046MHz Base Clock/1111MHz Boost Clock - a level higher than the 980MHz Base Clock/1033MHz Boost Clock than reference specification for delightful performance boost and higher framerate in actual gaming. GeForce GTX 660 also packs support for all the premium GTX gaming technologies such as NVIDIA Surround, 3D Vision, PhysX and SLI. With these features and more, the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 gives you more than one way to elevate your experience.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost Up until now, GPUs have operated at a fixed clock speed when playing 3D games, even if they have the potential to run faster. GPU Boost intelligently monitors graphics work load and increases the clock speed whenever possible. The result is that the GPU always performs at its peak and you get the highest framerate possible.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To Four Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add in a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email or web while you are gaming.
  • newegg TXAA AntiAliasing Antialiasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new antialiasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

3 out of 5 eggsFood for Thought

Pros: Great price vs performance
good looking card - love the fully enclosed look
rebates made it back with no problems
EVGA RMA Process - They replaced this card without much question and the process was easy
great overall customer service

Cons: I ordered 2 of these cards, one for me and one for my buddy. The card my friend is using is having no issues at all and so far great. The one I got for myself when put into one machine had non stop crashing issues in games like War Thunder but not others like Payday which was odd.

I thought this may be hardware related, but after moving to a few of my other machines I found it seems to be dependent on the hardware configuration it's in. One 3 of my 5 computers it worked with no issues, while it crashed at seemingly random times in game with the other 2.

All PSUs are within spec and there should be no issues with any of the hardware on all of the tested computers so from that all I can say is this card has issues playing nice with other hardware. what exactly is the common trigger for the crashes; I have no idea.

Other Thoughts: Thankfully for me, I was able to swap out a gtx750 from another machine with the one this 660 was intended for to circumvent the issue of crashing; however not everyone will have this as an option.

My advice: if you want to try this card, do it. Play the game War Thunder for about 2 hours right away as this game caused the crash for sure. If it works, you are good. If not, RMA the card right away to ensure it's not a fluke and if you still have issues return it to NewEgg ASAP before the return window expires and get something else.

1 out of 5 eggsBlue/yellow/red screens of death

Pros: Nice looking card, isn't it pretty? Runs WoW on Ultra, too..

Cons: I've had so many crashes while trying to give this card a chance. All that time wasted on drivers, or cooling, or power, or GPU frequency when nothing I could do mattered in the end. I suspect one of these crashes took my Hard Drive down too :(.
I will RMA this card back to EVGA, but it doesn't seem right that I should pay the postage to give them their faulty card back.

Other Thoughts: If I should get my RMA fulfilled I'm not sure I'll bother to even plug it in. The thought of wasting one more minute on this card is too painful. They'd have to tell me what was wrong with the unit and why before I'd feel comfortable enough to take that risk.
