3 out of 5 eggsOkay but...

Pros: Compact board in width and length. Drivers installed w/o issue. Seemed to work okay. But...

Cons: Negative performance boost vs. video card it replaced. Possible compatibility issues.

Other Thoughts: I guess this purchase was a bit of a post-Black Friday impulse buy.

I've been running a Radeon HD 2600 XT w/ 512 Mb for several yrs with no issues. But, now that I'm working quite a bit with Revit and more with Photoshop, I thought I'd try something a bit newer with more memory until I find the workstation I want (i.e. have enough money) and put in a Firepro.

Windows installed drivers with virtually no intervention on my part. I installed the nVidia control software and checked that I had the newest drivers. No issues.

But my system, with the EVGA nVidia card installed, returned a WE score of only 4.8 video vs 5.7 with the old MSI ATI card. I checked settings and tweaked w/o overclocking but couldn't improve that.

Reserving judgement, I have been using the card. But rendering times in Revit have taken much longer than with my old card.

The last frustration was a series of unexpected system shutdowns. My system stays on pretty much 24/7. This morning, I found my displays blank and the system unresponsive to keyboard or mouse. I had to physically shut off the power supply (switch in back) and reboot the system.

It came back on line normally.

I began work on a Revit project. Within minutes, the system shutdown on me with work in progress. Very unsettling. I restarted the system (had to reset the switch as before) checked BIOS settings and restarted Windows. And it came back up fine. I rechecked and could find nothing obviously remiss.

But I have a project due by Monday and this was enough. So I re installed the Radeon card. At this point, several hours later, I have had no issues.

Go figure. So the Geforce card is in the box and I will wait until I can put a Firepro in a workstation configuration.

Maybe, if I build a cheapo media box, I'll try it again in that.

5 out of 5 eggsTotally worth the money

Pros: Great card for the money!!
It increased my gaming performance from 5.8-6.5.
I can run skyrim on medium with no lag, and i run minecraft on about 91fps on average.
Runs World at War with no lag.
So far hasnt overheated or anything like that.
I bought it for $35 so it was totally worth it!!!

Cons: Well if your going for extreme gaming than this isnt for you because obviously this cant run Crysis 3 on Ultra. But if you are playing games that are about 2011 and before you should be ok.

Other Thoughts: Seems to get pretty good cooling.
Ive ran it overnight on several ocassions and its had no issues whatsoever.
Doesnt come with a driver disc but thats no problem because you can get it VERY easily off Nvidia.com/drivers

1 out of 5 eggsBad Experience

Pros: None

Cons: Card was DOA. Package lost/misdelivered and left out in rain.

Other Thoughts: Package was originally lost or misdelivered. When it was finally found, a week later, it appeared to have been left out in the rain during that timeframe.

RMA was issued for replacement, but I had to pay the return shipping. A very bad overall customer experience in this case.

5 out of 5 eggsTotally Worth the money!!

Pros: Great card.
My gaming performance rating went from 5.8 to 6.5.
I also tested its gaming performance and i was able to run minecraft with an average of 91fps.
and also run SKYRIM with no lag
Fan is also quiet.

Cons: Nothing yet.
If i tried to make a con for this it would be that its not as high end as the $300 cards out there but its the best thing you can get for $40!

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA refurb

Pros: scores 6.7 on WEI and doesn't require power input other than what the PCIE slot can provide. super quiet and easy to use with latest drivers from Nvidia website. EVGA refurbs are quality and other than not having accessories, are every bit as good as new.

Cons: none.
