3 out of 5 eggsBEWARE!

Pros: Its a great card

Cons: It has no driver for 10.7 - Lion (it works but crashes totally at random if the temperatures rais the slightest bit)

it only works stable on 10.8 - Mount Lion and later versions.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: I tried the stock 5870, the Sapphire Mac 7950, and this card. This card wins hands down. Faster desktop, apps are snappier, faster Mac native games, faster in boot camp, faster in Parallels. Everything I do is faster and more enjoyable. I do not use any rendering programs I cannot comment on those. Works great on multiple monitors, including a 42" 1080p TV.

Cons: Out of the box, it did not support audio over HDMI. The EVGA techs turned me onto a 3rd party app that installed in about 30 seconds and so now I have audio over HDMI. I wanted this because sometimes I stream things into my stereo receiver and TV.

Other Thoughts: As awesome as this card was, the Sapphire 7950 was disappointing in nearly every way. If you cannot afford this card, stick with the Apple 5870.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid!

Pros: Great card, solid. I'm used to Ati, so I was a little worried about the purchase. My biggest feature used is multi-display support. (eyefinity)

Cons: I also wish it had about double the memory as well. That said the card does exactly what I expect. I would have been happier if they used all display port, or mini display port instead of the DVI-I, and DVI-D ports.

Other Thoughts: I recommend the Accell active display port adapters. They are the best imo. I also acknowledge that others would not share my opinion regarding the use of adapters.

5 out of 5 eggs680 for Mac works in CUDA apps

Pros: Runs Mac games as fast or faster than any other "approved" Mac OS X compatible GPU for the Mac Pro. Strong performance on CUDA accelerated apps, too.

Cons: I wish it had more video memory.

Other Thoughts: Works fine with CUDA accelerated apps like After Effects and Premiere Pro after you correctly add it to the "whitelists" of CUDA and Ray-Traced 3D Enabled GPUs. Adobe apps don't detect CUDA GPUs automatically.

3 out of 5 eggsBeware if you use Adobe After Effects

Pros: Generally compatible with my early 2009 8 core mac.

Cons: NOT compatible with After Effects CS6. Adobe may at some point make an update to fix this, but no guarantee. Adobe tech support told me it would not work even dual booted in windows, though it will work on a regular windows computer. I have no personal knowledge of that, I'm just going to build a killer PC for Adobe. The widely known video card hack did not work either.

Other Thoughts: I'm still pro EVGA.
